  • Vehicles these days use lots of little plastic parts and they dont always survive removal for reuse. Today I’m hunting little fuel line clips. Spoiler: I eventually found all the parts I needed, but I miss good old steel parts.

So the day after I watched this clip, I was running wire under my Gladiator and the back of my gloved hand brushed one of these clips and brittle as they are, it broke with no force. Thankfully I didn’t have to google the part as you already provided it. Thanks Fred! These Newbsock videos are a great asset.

One line is fuel to the engine and the other is EVAP purge.
If you ever relocate the fuel tank(like a tj behind the axle) you can get factory style push lock to AN fittings and run metal hardline down the frame without much trouble

Ah yes, plastic parts...love the plastic parts. Like the oil cooler on the 3.6 Pentastar, excellent use of plastic parts. *Obvious sarcasm*

I save all of the odd factory connectors and hardware when I install aftermarket parts. Those items are often used for several makes and models, and can be useful several years down the road.

Friend of mine left a safety clip off on his 6.o ls twin turbo truck. Gas line came un clipped. Big fire and bad burns. Please don't run it without it Fred. Sometimes I think it would be better to replumb with compression or flare fittings or AN .

The white, black, and blue clips and not supposed to be removed. You’re supposed to push those in and pull the lines apart.

That's a good tip. Those clips are a pain. I had a similar problem with my XJ, with the transmission line plastic clip. I spent a day and a half running around to part stores and finally got lucky and found a dealership that had one lol

I've had good luck using zip ties in a pinch in lieu of that type of clip in the past.

For the missing safety clip, just put a piece of shrink tubing large enough to go over the white clip. When shrunk, it will keep the clip in place.

Dorman can save you on many of those gotcha parts. Also check out the Dorman fuel line tool 800-301, with it you can make your own lines.

Same type of clips on the evac system. Check the old engines. Might find one.

  • @silentjde

So the white part of the clip is meant to be pushed in the center and it spreads apart the outer part and allows the line to be removed, not supposed to remove it.

Is it possible cut the line and the flare the ends and make your own connection with something a bit hardier?
I just have a gut feel that plastic and trail driving tends to not end well.

This format is way too short, not enough content at a time to justify taking the time to watch it. I'd rather see 20-30 minutes a couple times a week.

If you have a few days to allow for shipping Napa has NOE 7306755 , NOE 7306754. and NOE 7306753, you may want to see if that is the right part.
