Beautiful job...
Thank you! 😊
About how long are those short boards used that go to joist and hold up the main boards that run with ducts
Paul is finally free 😂🕺🏽
Yes. Hallelujah.
Have you subscribed to my Scrapping with Grandpa Channel yet
Another great one
Thanks again!
Hello, excellent work.
How many years have you been doing this type of work with fiberglass?
A lot
Love your videos, something I'll have to do soon as spring hits. What's the reason for the dehumidifier?
Moisture under the house I did not enclose the ductwork yet, so I put dehumidifier in there to relieve some of the moisture
Why not use Rockwool?
I just like the insulation we use I think it’s just fine
Great job!
Thanks for the visit
We need our underbelly replaced after a repipe and its hard to find anyone to come out in pa.
It’s hard to get anyone to work on mobile homes
Need to do this to mine ,but what keeps the rats from infesting the new insulation? What about using sheets of foam?is ot better?
Kill bait. Traps. What ever it takes.
Not sure about foam
I am going to do this . Thanks for sharing.
Hope you enjoy
Phenomenal job love the videos ❤
Thank you so much
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair your welcome anytime 😊
Hey Drew, I watched enjoyed all the videos pertaining to the Under Belly. Will you be doing a video where you cover the 2x6 boards and insulation with a new under belly? or whatever materiel you use on it.
If you go to a house anywhere that’s stick built they insulate the floors and they never put anything under the two by sixes so I’m gonna do the same I’m not putting anything under the two by sixes. I’m gonna leave the insulation exposed underneath like it is. I did build the box for my trunk line and insulated it from the outside of the house. Other than that I don’t think I’m gonna do anything.
Hello Drew, Just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. You are a life saver. I recently purchased a mobile home and had a major plumbing leak. It flooded the underbelly and ruined the insulation. This looks like the solution for my home. It makes the plumbing accessible and should solve the rodent problem with them living in the underbelly. I don't have a brick foundation wall for the skirting. Is it worth the investment to do a nice skirting with brick or block? I was debating on doing that or using metal for the skirting and installing a vapor barrier on the floor. Thanks again keep up the good work!
It doesn’t matter what type of underpinning you have mice will get in rodents. Rats mice they’ll get in they got in mind that’s why we ended up removing the underbelly because I poison them and they started dying.
It’s a lot of hard work, but it can be done with patients
PUT A DANG MASK ON PAUL!!! 😂
I know right. I could not talk him into it.
I'm itchy watching this lol. Quick tip though after you deal with insulation you can use packing tape o pull all of the glass out of your arms and where ever you feel it.
I have been working with insulation for over 30 years and for some reason the insulation just doesn’t bother me anymore unless I get it around my eyes it does not bother my arms. Insulation is made different than it used to be. It’s not near as itchy as it used to be.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair that is true plus from you working with us so much your skin is probably a lot tougher lol.
Great video! Thank you. I'll be doing this project soon. How did you insure the insulation made it all the way to the outside wall? Will you be covering the middle exposed insulation with some sort of vapor barrier? Thanks for the great videos!
Paul was able to reach his arm back there to that section we couldn’t get to and we had 16 feet of insulation and it’s only 14 feet so we had two extra feet. We just stuck it in there and the insulation already has a vapor barrier on it and we put it towards the floor that’s the paper side so if you do it like this, you will not have to put an additional vapor barrier up there unless you’re worried about something getting under your house and being able to remove it that way nothing can get up inside the vapor barrier
Hey Drew, first I want to say I've been really enjoying your vids lately. They have some really good insights, and are a peaceful and relaxing pace. I'm about to start a renovation on my dad's old mobile home, and your videos have given me the confidence to get started on this! I have a question though, will you be boarding up or wrapping that center section where the insulation is? My dad's home has a HEAVILY damaged underbelly from water leakage, and just generally being a 35yr old mobile home. If I have proper skirting, and I pull up subfloor to reinsulate and fix weak spots, will I need to re-install a new underbelly? In semi-coastal South Carolina for reference if that makes a difference. TIA Drew, and keep up the good work!
No, I’m not going to put a new underbelly under their center section. It has vapor barrier on the insulation and I now have re-insulated the floor joist whereas when it had its original underbelly, the insulation was just laying down inside the underbelly now that that is not the case anymore I insulated the floor joist where the insulation belongs, and now I do not have to reinstall the under belly, I live in North Carolina so it’s totally up to you if you want to run the new underbelly on the floor Joyce, but for me I’m not going to, but as you do see, I did build a box for my AC line trunk line
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair That's about what I figured! I appreciate the response!
I'm about to do the insulation under my double wide. Have watched many vids. You specifically mention "face up", or paper side up. Others have done it the opposite, paper side down. Can you please explain why you chose paper side up?
The vapor barrier always is on the inside. You never want the vapor barrier on the outside, so I’m not sure why they would turn their vapor barrier that way, but if you look on the inside of a wall when you put up the insulation, you can see the vapor barrier on the inside you would do the same thing on the floor and the ceilings. The vapor barrier wants to be pointed towards the inside, always you’re trying to keep the moisture from getting to the house or the floors let me share a video with you
Noticed a vapor barrier is on the inside. It would be the same on the floor and the ceiling.
