Thank you. I want to share our knowledge in hopes that someone can get benefits from it
Don't know why trailer manufacturers didn't use silicone to bond the subfloor they never squeek...it's an added touch to my repairs....love the prep-work, good house cleaning is a sign of discipline and.......organization.
You're doing us all a great service
Thanks for the info! And thank you for the visit. I appreciate your comments. Hard work pays off. Do it right the first time

Love how y'all show the messed up stuff along the way, such as leaks and unexpected weak places. It is so helpful to see how you fix the problems! Thanks!
Thank you Laura you have to show all of it already you’re only showing part of it
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair You mean all the preparation and securing material doesn't just appear in video time? 😉 🤣

Awesome! Thank you!
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair I'm gonna need the frame done for new skirting that I'm going to install. Is there a round about figure it will cost me to have someone do the frame up? It's a 72 double wide. Interior full remodel done, but It needs ext. skirts redone.
Finally a channel I can relate with!!!!!!! I have 2 mobile homes I need to do the flooring in. I can see this will be a big help. P. cola Fla
We are starting the floored in the mobile home we are working on now on monday
Great! I have patched (not knowing what i was doing) Turned out kinds shotty. I want to go back a✌@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair
If I have anything that you need to see just ask me. I’ll share with you
Under my home the manufacturer missed most of the floor joints with the nail gun. Only thing holding the sub floor down is the glue. Our floors are now squeaky. Oakwood home.
Wow. That stinks
Looking like good men doing good work!
We do our best to do our best I try not to cut too many corners.
That under sheeting ain’t no easy job l feel Paul’s pain, the worst part is rolling around in the coon droppings. Thank god he’s almost done
I know right.
Good Evening Drew, I just got home 1st to be watching you.
thank you my friend
🔦🔨🔨
great details - thank you!!! I need to but am afraid to do half the work u guys are doing.
It’s not easy
❤️💞🥰😍👍👌🇵🇰
Left handed Paul is under that mobile home like a Madman. 👍🏽
I'm not crawling under mine. Getting bit by who knows what !!. Not Meeeee. Lol 😱😱
I got bit at least 5 time’s already
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Drew you guys are crazy. I'll put up the underbelly from inside my mobile home. It will be 10 times harder but I'm not getting bit and turn into Incognito. 👍🏽 😂🤣
Incognito was going to show up a couple more times in my videos thank you for the comments and yes going underneath that house I’ve been bit five times Paul been busy couple times and when he came in the other day he had to them fall off his coat and a little red biting spiders
Omg! A lot of work, i own a double wide mobile home😢
New subscriber😊
Thanks for subbing!
I liked how you did the insulation under the floor joist
Thank you
It’s really the best way to do it
Took me years to come across helpful videos. We purchased a 1978 double wide 27x50’ two weeks before 2020 shut down. Yay! Contractor never replaced skirt tracks and cut small pieces of ply wood in floors. Long story short, we have to redo all the floors. Do you recommend replace or repair? Thank you for taking time to respond. Signed hopelessly molded and rotted.
When I do a floor, I feel like if I don’t do the whole thing later on, I could have the same problem and have to do the whole floor over again so doing small pieces and parts in my opinion is a bad idea
You couldn't pay me enough to go under my mobile home. There be beasties under there rrrr😂😂😂
lol. That is hilarious. Thank you for that comment. You made me laugh.
Tremendous tasks. Ten of me won't be able to do any of that. BTW, I noticed that you uses mainly screws. Undoubtedly there are pros and con with screws, but does all joints and connections requires screws?
I can remove the screws if I want to at a later date that’s what the pros are. I don’t know of any kind.
That's some nice work
It turned out amazing
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair awesome I need to do something of that sort to my house
Why didn't you guys do the roof first since the roof leaks that way I don't ruin the pry board I love all the work you're doing be safe
Home Owner wanted to start Floors so he knew What he was up against
Not to mention we were waiting on the engineer to come out and give us a stamp of approval to install the roof so we waited for the inspector to come look. Actually it was the engineer not the inspector we had an engineer come out to say we could put the roof on this house. The inspector wanted an engineer to say yup you can put the weight up there so we wait it cost us $500 but we put a roof on it we got a stamp of approval from an engineer.
Why doesnt the particle board go under the wall like the factory? Is it correct to scab onto the wall 2x4 and the floor joist instead of replacing espescially since everything is exposed.
It is very difficult to raise the wall and remove the wood from under it. Sometimes you can sometimes you cannot. We do it when we can.
Looking good
Thank you
Awesome job you do great work
Thank you
Drew, ever had to work on ceilings like what's inside that home? The plastic strips that cover the fasteners that hold the ceiling up.
I was working on a ceiling in a home and those strips were bad.
Can't find any anywhere. Any sources you know?
You can’t buy them strips anymore so what I ended up doing is using lattice strips made of wood paint them white text him up with a trim nail gun
Great idea!
I needed to find these too, but...what do I know, imma' Ol' School Bus Driver, trin' to fix up this 1976 Town & Country 3 bdrm. 2 bath I bought in April, I'm using the Gas Oven/Stove, and a few Electric heaters to keep warm right now😮
I have had three Coats of the White Roof Sealant put on, Sure Hope I was told to get the Right Stuff for this, but I've seen No New Leaks since that has been completed.
You guys are Awesome.
Vaya con Dios
Was the original floor replaced? It looks like the outriggers are not doing anything? I have to replace an original floor that looks like it is a 3.5” panel from a 70s Nobility.
Yes, we replaced the entire floor and the end no problems
Hi. Drew i have a question / dispute. To settle. So' we had a small drip under bathroom sink took awhile to notice. But. Got wet under sub floor. Pulled out under belly and all. Insulation under double wide. Husband says none of it. Is going back. Just. Thick mil. Plastic. On ground for. Barrier. And. Up the block foundation. Is that enough? Much cooler in here. But its winter. Really dont like insulation. Rodents love it could i use. Sheet insulation.? Thanks trust your. Input frequent viewer. U guys are great.
If it was me, and I tore out the underbelly and the insulation, I would want to put new insulation up into the floor joist. If the underbelly is removed all you have to do is insulate the floor, Joyce. It is a good idea to put the vapor barrier on the ground and up the walls, but I still think he might need some type of insulation.
Drew so if I have a just plain empty tralier frame can we build it back?
I’m mot looking at but sound right
I want to expand a bedroom so I want to delete the 2nd bathroom but unsure of what to do with the plumbing after I take out the toilet, bathtub and bathroom sink
Block it off
So this is an alternative for that black underbelly right? Our mobile has no insulation, soon as you take off the plywood you can see the dirt ground.
If you’re able to get up underneath your mobile home, yes this is a perfect alternative for underbelly and you can buy it at Lowes or Home Depot. It takes a little bit of work but it is well worth it.
I couldn't tell how you put in the foam board at first i thought you screwed it into the floor joust but when looking from the top it didn't look like you did,and the joust look like they're 2×4s not 2x6s,can't tell because my glasses are broke
What did you use to attach that under sheeting insulation panels with iam wanting my under belly. Re done. Thank for all your videos. Do you ever come to. Tn. To do jobs?
I use one by fours
What was that DeWalt tool you recommended for the floor glue on the floor joist.
Yes but craftsman is good too. You need a grinder
Should I purchase a mobile home that was built in 1976 and is sinking into the ground ?
Maybe not. No
Should this only be done where it rains and snows a lot? I don’t get much rain but summers get to about 114f will it get humid down there and bring it into my trailer?
You would want to install vents so the underneath of your house can breeze I would say probably every 10 feet around a mobile home you would put a 8 x 16“ vent for airflow
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair thank you!
Thank you for stopping by my friend. Every house needs to be ventilated on the underside in the summertime I keep mine open in the winter time I keep mine closed
How much was material overall to get the job done?
12,700 wood is expensive
Hello drew ..what kind of plywood should be used as a subfloor for a mobile home? 1/2 ..3/4 and what kind of finish?
3/4 or what ever thickness is removed. Mostly 3/4. Adventec plywood
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair thank you
Welcome. It is on the board we are using. The name that is
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair yeah it's pretty expensive but I'm sure it's worth it
It is. The floor will go bad again
👍👍👍
Thank you Tom
I need to do this to mines maybe I wouldn’t have busted pipes
No busted pipes here
Perfect time to rip that old polybutylene out and replace it with pex.
It’s galvanized pipe now
Why you did not insulation wall to wa) on the floor
We actually did put the insulation wall-to-wall the outside walls had 3 1/2 insulation and the metal in between had six sense insulation because there was more room so or 13 on the outside because of the small space we had and are 19 in the center
Drew are you the same guy that runs the scrapping with grandpa Channel? I swear you sound just like him. Brothers maybe?
Yes I am. I’m also a scrapper.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair I am familiar with both channels Because I am familiar with the struggle. We do what we got to and the good Lord presents for us to do to the best of our abilities. Thanks for all the helpful info. Best wishes having a blessed day bro.
All threw Jesus my friend. Struggles are real. Prayers for you and your family. I’m a good mobile home contractor if there’s anything you need advice on, I’ll be glad to share.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair amen to that brother, and I'll keep it in mind if there's anything I don't find the solution for in your videos.
Thank you my friend. Have a blessed day. He sure is beautiful here in southeast Sonny Southport North Carolina where I’m at right now.
What's the thickness of the flooring.
23/32
so this works for isulation does it also work for waterproofing ?
No it’s not necessarily a waterproofer there’s not anything really on a mobile home that’s waterproof
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair got it , planning on remdiling a Mobile home just wanna do the right way and avoid headaches later on , with the floor
If you wanna avoid headaches use the best material on the floor
ruclips.net/video/d__dX50-2Fw/видео.html
The best flooring would be adventtech. You might be able to see it in this video it is waterproof.
ruclips.net/video/jQAhuH3gEVE/видео.html
There are different types if you go to Lowe’s ask them for the best floor seating they will probably tell you it is Vantex or advent Tech there are a couple different brands
I have many videos on Floors check out my playlist for Mobile Home flooring
you need to tell what you are donig
I thought I was kind of explaining myself through the video. Sorry about that.
What are these boards called?
You can buy them at Lowe’s or Home Depot. They will be in the insulation aisle so if you go to where they sell the insulation I guarantee on the other side of the aisle you’ll find the stuff I believe this is half inch Styrofoam that I’m using a little bit flexible so we can get it up in there properly. It’s not that hard to do once you get started.
Isn't it a waste of time and good lumber at this point 🤔
No, not at all. I can take an old shack and turn it into a beautiful place to live guaranteed as long as you have something to work with you can do anything.
I have a 1979 single wide with flat roof that i'm trying to fix up,these videos are great, right now i'm sealing my roof, but want to cover the roof with ribbed roofing but not a peaked roof just so the metal bends with the roof, so i wont have to keep on having to keep applying roof coating
