Vote For Your Favorite Orbit Below! Free OR Constrained 😀

I think the free orbit is probably the most useful when actually creating a model. And constrained (which I rarely use) is better perhaps for displaying a finished assembly like the bike frame.

      Free orbit for design.
      For render - constrained orbit.

i use a 3d mouse with one hand so it does all that without me giving it much thought.

I only use Free orbit because I'm lucky to have a 3DConnexions Space Mouse.

Thanks. I like the constrain orbit better and for me much easier to control.

    thanks, helped a lot.

Very helpful. It helped me figure out that the greyed out "scope" that appears when you click orbit is there to tell you where the handles are to be found (along a full 360)

Thanks for taking the time to investigate. I make Spanish videos about Fusion 360 and frankly speaking, this was an obscure functionality to me now unveiled completely 😊👍

Thanks Dude.. this was annoying me for a long time couldn't figure it out.. as many things in Fusion totally unintuitive!!

Do you know of a way to disable the constrained orbit handles?
They're mostly a nuisance to me

Using version 2.0.11894, I see any difference using free and constrained Orbit. Both provide handles to constrain orbit. If I don't use handles in both orbit command I am free to orbit on 3 axis. why?

Is there a shortcut for constrained orbit??

For some reason whenever my cursor moves, my project moves also, it wasn’t like that before and I could move my cursor freely without worrying that my project will move. How do I fix this

"Free Orbit" is not very useful. Coming from Blender where you can basically disable that forever, this was so anoying. In Blender if you go Preferences -> Navigation -> Orbit Method you can choose "Trackball" (which is Free Orbit in Fusion) or "Turntable" (which is Constrained Orbit in Fusion).

oh wow, all this time I just assumed I was in free orbit, very annoyed about the fact that fusion wouldn't just let me get the same flexibility in the viewspace as solidworks. Now I see that it defaults to constraint orbit, man I feel stupid!
