Useful video.
I’ve done 185 kph on an autobahn with the hood up with no issues. I did use the Velcro inside though as a precaution.
Only difference I do is loosen the hood sticks when stowing the hood so when I’m at the side of the road in the pouring rain it’s one less thing to think about when putting the roof on!
As a Caterham newbie (I'm still building mine) I found this very interesting and useful. Thanks
Hi Callum !
Thanks again for your comments.
It is very usefull for me as i will get ma 170S end of 2024 , december gift 😉 , ... waiting for this long period... so , i am collecting all the data i can 👌😇
Hi Callum 👋 Surely all you need is to show how to take the Full Hood off the car, and then just get a Soft Bits For Sevens Half Hood 😉. All the best 😊 (Ian B - Kent 7s)
The trick is to sit in the drivers seat and ask someone else to put the hood up. I have a tonneau cover on my old 1700 crossflow. It is easy to put on and I can leave it half on when I am alone. It is lovely and warm with the heater on in winter. Note, this is not good solution if you have leather seats. I have an older car with bench seats which I can pull out and take indoors if they get wet. Less is more.
Excellently helpful video (for a Caterham newbie). Although I’m hoping not to need to use the full hood (!)
Hi Callum ! Thank you very much for your video 👍
Could please explain how to close the door when you are inside the car with the total roof ?
I mean properly, as you did from outside . Thanks very much.
Stick your fingers outside, from the front, and run them backwards pulling the door into the “slot channel”. It’s more intuitive than that sounds 😂
@@turn7caterham thank very much 👍😇
Мне кажется без дуги сзади салона, этот автомобиль смотрелся бы на много лучше, как первые лотосы 7
What witchcraft is this? Making it look easy! That's quite a trick... Another top guide, Callum.
I have a question about closing and sealing the doors from the inside. How do you get the flap to sit in the right place?
A ha! A fine question Ron. Hook it in with your fingers at the front, then you can pull your fingers back whilst hooked over the top of the door edge. Don't forget to stop when you get to the V-cut 😄 Have a practice, and if you're still struggling with it, comment back here and we'll make a Short to demonstrate 📹
@@turn7caterham I pick up my 420r sometime in the next two months, I’ll let you know
