I want an episode where Marc reviews every Kevin Smith movie. It'd be so awesome. You know he wouldn't be bias.
I love you guys! You seem genuine your both funny and intelligent, I wish their were more men like you in the world... we really need more! 😊
Holy crap Marc, those're some amazing ideas. I'd pay to see those movies.
Creepy fan-service over actual stories? No, thanks.
What Wonder Woman had over Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America: We had already seen her in another movie portrayed by the same actress 15 months earlier. Those other characters had never appeared on the big screen before.
Actually... I'd say that was an advantage for Iron Man, Cap and Thor.
Wonder Woman, as a general rule, is a far higher profile character than any of them.
she had no advantage given that everyone is on marvels dick.
***** don't kid yourself not all the marvel movies are good.
All three also 2nd tier heroes. WW should be one of the highest and looking at the daily numbers it's catching up on BvS at a decent rate.
Richter Aurelian so when marvel makes a movie it's cause there great but dc owes it's success with wonder woman to marvel?. so when captain marvel comes out its gonna be great cause of wonder woman?
"POSER, Peter Parker has no mother!!" 😂😂😂I had to go back and watch that part like 5 times.
"I SEE BUSH!"
-Kevin Smith, 2017
LOL...."I was sitting there saying yes Bitch yesssss!" Lmaoooooo
Okay, I got goosebumps imagining Diana investigating a meteor in Smallville, Kansas. (sorta makes the new comics feel a little weird though, lol)
Thanks so much for using the microphones too, boys, the sound is soooooo much better, and the dulcet tones of one Mark Bernardin help me ease into my evenings so much better as well :).
You know what would really help the Dark Universe? End Credit scene for the mummy: Luke Evans makes a house visit to Russell Crowe. because come on Dracula Untold is a pretty OK flick
I love Mark's idea for a Wonder Woman sequel set during the Vietnam war and her seeing Superman's ship crash.
Welcome back! I'm sorry Kevin, but I LOVE when you both make up new stories and movies. Sometimes, its better than the actual movies themselves.
Martian Manhunter would be perfect for a Cold War story. Not only with the shapeshifting/spy potential, but also because the 50s was a big time for aliens in B-movies and reports of abductions and whatnot.
Banana, You had me in tears hahaha
I love the "my movie could be bad but at least it was not as expensive as yours"
fuck guys, you have to get rid of those mics. the audio levels are all over the place
Apparently Patty Jenkins has been trying to convince Warner Bros. to make a Wonder Woman movie since 2004. Which makes the success all that much sweeter no doubt.
WHY HAS NO ONE HIRED YOU TWO TO MAKE THESE COMIC MOVIES!? That Cold War idea is fucking gold. GOLD.
Female Furies for main villains in the sequel!!
I think they should add one of the Advisory Notice at the beginning of their videos saying "Smoking a Joint while viewing STRONGLY ADVISED"
Hey Kevin and Marc, new to your channel. wow, Marc has some pretty great ideas for Wonder Woman 2 -espionage/spy story in Cold War with Martian Manhunter -a la Bridge Of Spies. And we can probably write in a segment with Cheetah to satisfy Kevin -maybe hunting an artifact and cross path with Diana or even discover Paradise Island? And since this is a spy story, it would pay homage to how Steve Trevor has touched and affected Diana. And this would also explain why no one has seen Wonder Woman until she resurfaced in Batman Vs Superman. And I like Marc's idea about Diana being the DCU watcher -similar to Warren Ellis' Planetary, which is one of my favorite series in recent decades. It would also explain why she know what Bruce Wayne/Batman was doing during Bat v Sup. Kevin or Marc, don't either one of you know Geoff Johns? Get a meeting with Patty Jenkins! Love your ideas! I would go see that movie!
From what I've been reading, WW is kicking Mummy ass at the US box office, but in world wide numbers it's the other way around. I find it fascinating that everyone is so focused on a single market and not the total numbers.
Oh no, the mics are back!
They are in dire need of an upgraded audio set up... this is vile, unbearable with headphones.
Jack Pepper They need some lessons on good Mic technique. or some room mics and a sound guy on the volumes...or some post sound editing. You'd think Kevin would know t his from making movies.
They've tried post editing before, what we ended up with was a heavily gated, over compressed mess. I guess he never normally has to deal with this side of it himself.
Wonder Woman has another distinct advantage over Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, those three films came out when the popularity of superhero/comic book films were almost in the toilet. Those three films were instrumental in revitalizing the superhero films.
Audiences are considerably more interested in superhero/comic book films after the success of the MCU Phase One and Two, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Marvel-branded films, and various TV offerings based on Marvel and DC characters.
Kevin don't forget Marvel and Jenkins were in talks to have her direct Thor: The Dark World. It didn't work out, but Marvel was definitely interested in having her do one of their superhero movies, it's too bad they couldn't agree on the script. This was six years ago.
Love you guys, keep em coming :)
Spiderman homecoming is going to be spectacular!!
Spectacularly formulaic, just like any other MCU movie.
At least it's not gonna be spectacularly shitty & offensive like the DCEU films lul
They are "offensive" if you are a brain-dead manchild.
Schuky9 Lex Luthor sexually shoves a Jolly Rancher into some dudes mouth.. & you fanboys blindly praise it & pretend like it's "dark and for adults" lmao. & yet, I'm the "brain-dead" one here? xD
Yeah, when something dumb and laughable as that "offends" you in a cash-grab Hollywood blockbuster, especially the one called "Batman V Superman".
WW also has the fact she is one of DC's A-list heroes. Ironman's movie, made him A-list and Cap is the only one you name who was even comes close to being as recognized as WW worldwide before their movie.
Good movies make money, not gender pandering, and her movie is good.
Also, why has everyone forgotten that the 90s were FULL of strong female characters?
I wouldn't mind if Universal made a fourth Mummy movie with Brendan Fraser that kickstarted the Dark Universe.
I love Kevin and Marc together because they're like the two sides of me. This show just wouldn't be the same for me if either man were someone else.
stand alone super hero woman movie.. catwoman, elekra, supergirl as MB stated too.. come on just because they were bad doesnt mean they didnt exist.
i really liked blade and spawn for that matter.
revolver5678
Though they aren't technically superheroes, I'd add The Underworld series, The Resident Evil series, Tomb Raider, Red Sonja, and Vampirella to that list. The last 3 actually have comic runs.
NoCover Comics. the movies themselves are comicbook super hero movies. catwoman had powers and elekra literally cane back from the dead
Can you blame someone for erasing those movies from their memory?
+revolver5678
The movies I mentioned, were the ones I was referencing as not technically superheroes. (Except Vampirella, she is a comic book superhero.)
They could have Wonder Woman be the bridge to the mystical side of the DCEU. If the sequel takes place after Justice League, they can have her go down to Tartarus to bring the Greek gods back to help battle Darkseid. Have her meet up with magical DC characters along the way like Etrigan, Constantine, Raven, etc.
Heck, they can do a prequel with Hippolyta and Antiope set in the ancient world, adventuring with old mystical characters like Black Adam when he was a hero, the Spectre, Dr. Fate, etc.
mark makes such a good writer. you gotta get you dude a flick, kevin. seriously. every time he says this kind of movies, it's beautiful.
I actually didn't think the mummy was all that bad. I enjoyed it and so did the other three people watching it
matthew craig same. I think people's problems were that they were expecting something else, I see people moaning it's not a horror enough, but i knew it would be more action oriented as its clearly going to be like civil war, with monsters on both sides, not just humans vs monsters.
Kevin watches Cowboy Bebop?! Wait Kevin watches anime?! No way!
We've all seen Spider-Man: Homecoming because of how much they have shown of the movie in those damn trailers.
CassandraTroy if so can you please tell me if there is a Gwen Easter egg or something? does vulture die or is captured? Harry or Norman Osborne? what is the end credit scene? is there multiple? doe we get a hit of his own suit besides the homemade one? please tell me I must of missed those in the trailers
1.) There is no Easter Bunny. 2.) Nobody ever stays dead in comics. 3.) They both suck. 4.) That's where they show the credits. 5.) Orgasms? i hope so. 6.) Pretty sure that was in the trailers. See my above comment. You're welcome.
+CassandraTroy
You just stated your fucking opinion, nothing that can be substantiated and considered fact.
Don't be a stupid fucktard.
You really need to chill out and get a sense of humor. Maybe see a psychiatrist too. So blocked!
The probable reason behind Sony's clean movies is because Vid Angel is already doing this to movies AND they're making a lot of money doing it. They'll getting sued by companies, not so great for them. Sony probably thought that this could be an untapped resource of money. When in doubt, follow the money. Great video gentleman!!
I live in Holland and indeed we have The Mummy advertisement everywhere
If i wrote a Mummy movie and they force me to cast Tom Cruise.. i would have Tom Cruise as the bad guy.
He was perfect in Tropic Thunder!
Daaaaamn I got goosebumps as well when Marc was pitching the second WW movie... OMG thats a great idea!
The problem with the The Mummy marketing is that they relied WAY too heavily on Tom Cruise. I still give no idea what his character is supposed to be DOING in the film. Is he trying to get something? Get away from something? I have no idea. I just know he's in it. And a mummy is in it. That's it.
And they really blew it by making the Mummy a pretty woman. It's supposed to be a MONSTER movie. Men want to have sex with any woman who still has most of her face attached. That's not what a monster movie should be built on.
Awesome hearing that spider-man homecoming is sounding like the spider-man we have been waiting for.
y'all just got all kinds of nasty there towards the end 😂 lol
Bernardin, that is a great take on a Wonder Woman movie. It hits all the necessary story beats.
the one notification I wait for to pop up.
Has anyone considered that the reason Wonder Woman has taken so long to be made a movie, is because Linda Carter, a beloved version of WW, is still alive? Look what happen when the first tried to replace Christopher Reeve.
MAD MAD MAD props for the Electric Blue Theme Song!
Personally, I've always wondered why the airline/television versions haven't been included on DVDs. In a lot of cases, like Smokey and the Bandit, it's just a matter of an alternate audio track (I find S&TB to be far funnier with the crazy overdubs than the original dialogue). Blues Brothers is another example of a film in which potentially "offensive" dialogue isn't necessary for the enjoyment of the film. Those movies have been on broadcast and basic cable for years and I could see parents wanting a sanitized version that kids who have only seen in that edited form can watch at anytime. I can easily understand some of it (granted my example is WB) when you get a Batman/Superman movie with a "fuck" in it for no real reason (was it *just* to get that "R" rating?...). I can also see the "sanitized" versions of movies with some sort of historic relevance being useful in public school situations. Many films are shot with alternate versions in mind during production, so it isn't an after-thought (I remember one of the parody films having a Narnia sequence and the behind the scenes segment showed one shot being filmed three ways -- girl in bikini, girl topless, girl full-frontal nude -- so if they're spending the money on it already, why not put it out there?...
I'm watching this eating leftovers
I'm reading your comment while puking leftovers.
my nigga
Making more non-contemporary Wonder Woman movies will have to be set purely in Themyscira and similar places if they want to keep their continuity intact. In BvS she says that she left the world of men a hundred years ago, and since WW1 ended 98 years prior to when BvS takes place it's very clear that it's the point in time to which she refers.
Of course Fox has shown with their X-Men franchise that you can completely disregard continuity if you wish, but still.
2:14 You guys forgot Catwoman (2004) & Elektra (2005)...we don't blame you, though.
just saw the New Mummy movie and I liked it. also enjoyed the Mummy movies with Brandon Fraser
Kev, it would be a delight to listen to a conversation between you and Patty. I really liked the interview that you did with Trank, it would be great to hear you and Ms. Jenkins and bring to the table.
Felix Faust and Cheetah
You guys don't stream this?
The Sony Clean Cuts don't cost anything. They come as part of a whole dvd/blu ray package meaning original and clean cut package.
Back in the old days of cable you had an A-B box. If you turned to the channel that had Playboy if you flipped A to B fast enough you could see bush.
In the Television show; Steve Trevor had a son, Steve Trevor, who looked just like him.
Y'ALL THOUGHT YOU COULD DO IT WITHOUT BRENDAN FRASER
Awesome. Been waiting for your thoughts. I've been to see Wonder Woman twice now and I'm taking my mum on Saturday.
Marc should be in charge of DC.
I'll just sit here, secretly hoping Marc will get a surprise phone call from Warner Brothers to discuss his Diana as chronicler of the emergence of the DC universe idea...
I think a woman was suppose to direct Black Panther, the one who did Selma, but her and Marvel parted company.
I'm happy for Wonder Woman's success. However, to quibble a little, according to my math and Box Office Mojo's numbers, Iron Man made over 120 million on its opening weekend adjusted for inflation, and without the benefit of 3D showings.
Wonder Woman also got a boost because she was the best part of BVS. Ironman, Thor and Captain America came in cold. Your average person knew who the character was. Cannot say that about the guys.
As an added bonus Zeus intervened with Steve Trevor moments before the explosion and transports him to Olympus for his heroism and friendship of WW and delivers him back to Earth to help her again in WW2.
While it would be great to see Chris Pine's Steve in the sequel in some way, I think that move would cheapen his sacrifice.
True but from another perspective his life's journey may not be done and is still destined to make the hero sacrifice with no intervention. Would make Wonder Woman's loss greater and his heroism legendary. Plus, who doesn't want more Chris Pine. Their characters in the comics had more history than one issue or one episode on TV.
but they'd have to retcon BvS (which I'm not against), because she said after WW1 she left the world of man, and didn't do anything significant till Batman found her in modern day
Noomi Rapace as Catwoman, pitch the idea, swedish english accent and all
To be fair the current Wonder Woman character was in B v S so there was something to spark interest in her origin story. Women clapped in the theater when WW showed up in BvS so there was pre-made and pent-up demand for her own movie.
They did have a scene with the "Book of the Dead" from the original Mummy movie, when Jenni is trying to break out of the library to get to Tom Cruise. She uses the book to clock the security guy and drops it on the floor for a nice hero shot. Spoilers.
Just Curious: will Ralph Dibny finally appear on THE FLASH? Wicked cool Infantino team-up action! Let's all get Elongated!
Wonder Woman SHOULD do better than Iron Man, Thor and Cap. She was part of the Trinity of DC. MARVEL was laughed at for trying to use their "B Squad". Only NOW are they known after Marvel made them. But I do want to see more female lead comic movies and have never had a problem with female directors.
come for kevin smith, stay for mark bernardin XD
Kevin "I got fuggin goosebumps" Smith
Kev, they did make a dirty version of Davey & Goliath! It's called Moral Orel, and it aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
They should have made Anne Rice's The Mummy Ramses The Dammed
Marc should design a board game called Elevator Pitch. Who would pitch in for a kickstarter to make that happen?
because people like me have waited pretty much their whole life for Wonder Woman to have her own movie...
Apparently, Cruise took over the film on set as well as production because it was clear the director was in over his head.
Spider Man 2 is still the best.
I didn't think the Mummy was terrible, but i do think the mummy is a poor choice to start a monster verse.
Don't forget, Jon Watts also directed Clown. Very underrated horror clown movie.
It makes perfect sense. There are obviously female comic book fans but when you're selling an Iron man or Capitan America your market is limited to mostly Males. Wonderwoman appeals to both sexes and both demographics, meaning non comic book fans and comic book fans alike. It wasn't even the best movie ever made, but it damn sure deserves all these accolades!
2:17 - 2:26 - I believe Electra also had a solo movie... Nah lets not talk about that.
6:44 ... +1 for the Marc Bernardin DCU
Marc with Wonder Woman as the Watcher of the DC universe For The Win.
They should make "Spider-Ham: Hogcoming".
Whats weird about the Mummy's ad budget is that I had no idea it was coming out that weekend lol. I know "American Made" is coming but not this F'N movie.
what is it with studios wanting to cut out the very heart of every superhero movie? Marvel wanted to cut the epic long take in the first Avengers and wanted to cut the farm scene in Ultron. They also hacked up Iron Man 2 and shot down Patty Jenkins much more interesting Thor 2 idea for the sake of playing it safe.
WB mandated Snyder to hack up BvS last minute, and wanted to cut one of the most beautiful and inspiring scene of any comic book film out of WW. And who knows what kind of film Suicide Squad would have been if WB didnt decide to try and make it a GotG clone.
Hopefully with the success of WW, WB will have more faith in their directors visions. T
I'm skeptical about Tom Holland as young Nathan Drake but hopefully he'll prove me wrong.
Dapper Skeleton Me too.
Supergirl and Elektra were women lead comic book movies.
technically they already made a cowboy bebop movie. I'm not sure if it was ever in theaters but there was a 2 hour full length movie
Some interesting idea for Wonder Woman 2, but I think it's already been decided that it will take place during the present. Still want Cheetah though.
I've loved keven for the majority of my life, but now I lov this mark guy. Perfect choice of a cohost. Do a episode with Walt though. He's not as livable as mark, but his passion for the media makes his opinion interesting as fuck. I'd love to hear his opinion on today's weather
Marc is always correct!!! give him the reigns, and I will start reading comics again!
Mark and Kevin WW2 speck script needed! please do it. :)
I thaught it had been announced that Patty was not gonna direct the next wonder woman film -but cant find a link
Chris Pine was great in the movie but I wouldn't like to see him again in a Wonder Woman sequel, it's going to feel like nobody really dies. Also, I'd like to see the second part in modern times because the whole beginning of this movie was her old picture from world war 1 and making another in the past would mean making something up and then how is that the world never knew about her?
Kevin: Robot Chicken did a "dirty" version of Dave and Goliath ( I'm pretty sure ).
marc is rockin a Raiders reference! I want that shirt
Marc - I've totally been eying that tshirt online for a while now. 😋
Kevin - I'm actually surprised Cowboy Bebop(series) is on your radar. I wouldn't think anime was your cup of tea. 🤔
