It's weird how every single Tame Impala song I hear has a delayed reaction where I'm just like "Ok, whatever" and it doesn't really hit me at all but then by the 3rd listen I like it better than anything by any other artist and can't imagine what life would be like withoutit

On the Spotify storyline, kevin says he imagines listening to this song at the beach in a windy night, and that’s what I did this night. It marks exactly one year since my grandmother passed away. And the part “do you remember we were standing here a year ago?” really hits me, I remember exactly a year ago standing here and crying so much.
Great story, so glad you shared! My condolences to you about your Grandmother, but glad that you also appreciated this song like I do!! Masterpiece and makes you think deeply and beautifully, cheers!😊

A lot of his best songs always have this sort of delayed graitfication. Like I remember hearing this for the first time and being like "eh its aight i guess" and now Im like "this is life changing"
Oh Yah was about to say the same thing. Posted this song on my birthday in February. Knew it it was coming but didn’t think it would be like this. Hits a little different now.
Watched your interview with Zane Lowe today and heard you say you left everything on this album. That it’s hard to describe what you’re feeling now cause you put your everything into these songs and hope that people will bond with them. Thank you Kevin a million times over. Don’t normally leave comments but had to say that. I know I’ll be listening to them for some time to come.
Do you remember, we were standing here a year ago Our minds were racing and time went slow If there was trouble in the world, we didn't know If we had a care, it didn't show But now I worry our horizon's been nothing new 'Cause I get this feeling and maybe you get it too We're on a rollercoaster stuck on its loop-de-loop 'Cause what we did, one day, on a whim Slowly becomes all we do I never wanted any other way to spend our lives I know we promised we'd be doing this 'til we die So now I feel we might Ooh, now I feel we might But it's okay I think there's a way Why don't we just say, "One more year"? I totally get what he's saying with these lyrics. Like, if you think existentially with your life and be like, "shit, I'll be dead in 70 years" it sounds bad. But if you change your perspective and realize how long even a YEAR is and if you give yourself that time to live your life, you can do so many things. That's truly all we even need. Take it year by year. Great stuff.

Words cannot describe just how perfect this song is. I’ve never heard a song where despite the length, each second feels so original, natural, and just right. The percussion beat slowing fading in, the beat drop after “one year……from today,” the way the “Oooonnne moooorreee yeeeeeeeheheheheh” background chorus changes in rhythm during different parts of the song to match the beat better while also maintaining identity. Simply a masterpiece of a song.

@@thomasrainbow the truth is psychedelia comes in many forms and guises and surely you'd agree that the effect applied to the "One More Year" chants coupled with the channel panning and delayed vocals are innately psychedelic. And that's just one example/song. Just because some of these songs have disco/house influences doesn't mean they can't also be psychedelic.
I saved this song to my Playlist about 2 months ago, after hearing the intro. I never fully listened to the song. I drove to pick my son up in SC with my mom Aug 2nd, had my headphones on and this song came up. It was a whoooole vibe driving down the highway! Sun was shinning, barely anyone on tbe hwy that morning, miles and miles of trees & grass, some water here and there..farms. Had to play it 2 more times! 😍🥰

i can't stop listening to this masterpiece
You know that moment when it's like a song is speaking to you, like the artist knew exactly what you're going through
Song ended as 2021 began, Tame Impala and his music will always be diamonds. HAPPY NEW YEAR
One more year❤💫
Happy 3 year anniversary ❤
Producer: how psychedelic should we make the first banger of the album
KP: yes
On god tho 😂
Kevin Parker *is* the producer. But I'd imagine he asked himself this question - so your comment stands.
@@logos216 Also the first two albums are WAY more psychedelic than this song or any others.
Kevin talking to himself
The slow rush is one of the greatest albums ive ever listened to
I love this record. I love this record so much.
LOVE IT. SO TRIPPY.
Невероятные ощущения вызывает эта песня, как будто что то из прошлого, но воспоминания такие четкие. Нравится это чувство, все мы были там. Спасибо Кевин за передачу этого ощущения. Катя из Москвы.
3:56 gives me literal chills
2:28 is better imo

After so much excitement and wait, he comes up with this. Kevin you are God of Music

Michael Williams agreed
yeah this is quite different, the rest are kind of like on autopilot tame impala.
On track ;)
THANK YOU NO ONE AGREES WITH ME
After listening to the album for a month and loving all of the songs on it, I _think_ this one stands out to me the most, and I think I've listened to it the most. It's just a vibe. I think this album goes on trend with all of his others in the way that any song could be considered the best in its own way. It's a 10/10 for me.
These lyrics give me goosebumps. Imagine listening to this jam in a year from now, looking back to everything that happened to the world.
...
Let's hope for the best, a better future for everybody. Happy new year from now, everybody. We did it!
This makes me so happy, no matter how upset I am. Thank you
This song just gets better, and Better, and BETTER!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR BROTHERS, FOR NOTHER YEAR WITH GOOD MUSIC, GOOD EXPERIENCES, GOOD RELATIONS, FOOD, BOOKS, ANIMES, ETC.
This song (and you could say the same for most Tame Impala songs) is something I lean on a lot with what’s happening right now. Thanks Kevin
Thanks for the music. Appreciate all the hard work. Im high right now, thanks for make me feel great
We as listeners and fans should never rush artists to release a new body of work. All the energy thats put into this is just crazy to me. Im a new listener as of this year and tame impala is in my top 10 artists as of this moment
ONE MORE YEAR
