The way this album ends is perfection, those last two minutes straight up made me tear up. Felt like someone you know you’ll never see again saying goodbye.
beautiful way to put it :(
agree the ending got me so emotional
This album has its pros and cons, but surely it's the tame impala album with best ending song
Whew. What a great sum up!
Spot on. It’s a pretty sad ending especially with the times we’re living through right now. Bye Kevin, hope we see you soon.
unpopular opinion: this and let it happen are possibly the best candidates for an ending song for a series
I am creating the plot for a series and plan on using let it happen for the ending. This and suns coming up we’re the second place candidates.

Anyone else obsessed with the outro? The way it shifts from this slowing, heartfelt section into this ethereal groove with the drums is incredible
yes, man. fucking kevin did it again
That last minute is too short
Leaves you wanting more.. stop being a tease Kev!
Ove always thought that the whole song sounds like an panic attack/the aftermath of one (the buildup going into a steady sound that winds down into encouraging lyrics) and I love it
I'm transfixed by it
The Slow Rush is such a fantastic concept album. The concept is time, and it starts off with a track called ‘One More Year’ which is a song about enjoying a year to yourself, postponing everything until that year is up. When it begins he says “remember we were standing here a year ago?” Essentially saying it’s already been one year and they’re going for one more year. It ends with “One More Hour” which is the final hour of that year, however the song ends with “I’m with you and I can roll
into another year” beautiful. Like time is infinite inside this album from start to finish. I love this album. My favourite sound on it is the end of ‘breathe deeper’ as well as the melody at the end of this song.
So beautifully said. 🔥🔥
I couldn't agree more with you.
The last stanzas in the outro pretty much describes the last hour before getting married
Not only that. I feel like an tame impala album is so good that makes you wanna listen again in loop. In the last track "one more hour" he says "I'm with you and I can roll with you another year" being the last hours of the year. When it ends (and the album starts again in loop) it plays "one more year" again - exactly when another year begins (if you, obviously, listen the album in the last hours of the year) AND the album has almost one hour 😂 Genius. I may be tripping but makes sense to me, or it's just coincidence
To be fair, Kevin said himself that it's not a concept album. He said he wanted to achieve this idea of the passing of time within the album but that's about it. Interestingly enough, he also said that he has no idea if the songs sound good in the order he chose; it's more of an order he thought was good enough and he hoped it sounds good. Obviously some choices are in your face, One More Year and One More Hour, as well as On Track where "it's nearly August" and it's the 7th song on the album and the album has 12 songs... I'd say he nailed the idea of time but it's hard to say if it's a concept album even if the artist says it's not xD
not really correct. it s actually an album devoted almost completely to his recent marriage and all the struggle, unknown it comes with besides his family relationships. getting used to, risk of being bored of each other and more feelings if you read lyrics carefully. it s mainly about the feelings towards family.

He talks about this song being about accepting the fact a new chapter in ones life is opening and another is closing , forever . I reckon it’s also a metaphor of a kind for his transition genre wise. This album is telling his fans to move on and perhaps like an apology he can’t be who he used to be genre wise .
What a great analysis. I can totally agree with this. I haven't had enough listens of this song just yet, but when I do I wonder what my interpretation will be. For now all I'm seeing is Anime scenes. LOL but Kevin so far has been known as a very good songwriter.
Its been a few days now, and I got the interpretation that before he transitions into the next chapter of his life that he knows the change is inevitable and it will affect his music from here on. Him singing "lose her, I'll never love again" is maybe his conflict of being used to how his lifestyle and music is now and wanting things to stay the same and not letting a relationship change that versus taking the next step with this lover and compromising so he could stay with her and still pursue his music career without losing one or the other. The lyrics "as long as I can and have this time alone" isa way of maybe saying that before the change comes he will enjoy the last few moments the way they are this present time and is aware that there isn't much time left to enjoy things this way. For me, this my favorite song on this album.
Well, he did say in an interview that this was like his "L.A. Album". He produced this wonderful piece of art in his newly bought L.A. home. It's a pretty good album. There's a lot of people who don't understand this....

Right before all the singing ends
Wasn't brave enough to tell you
That there ain't gonna be another chance
It's not gone until (All that I have)
And everything's still (One more hour)
Minutes erasing, whatever I've done

How could I love again?
How could I ever ask for more?
And to the road ahead
Into a life I can't ignore

(Move her) How can I love this path for sure?
(Lose her) With no more time to spare

As long as I can, long as I can
Spend some time alone
As long as I can, long as I can
Be the man I am

Until Currents came along, Innerspeaker was my fav album by Tame Impala. I grew up with rock and so it was easy to get so lost in that album, but obviously Kevin didn't wanna stay as the dubbed "psych rock savior" forever; he's so much more talented and gifted and we've obviously seen that with his latest output. This album was so well crafted and put together. I just wanna say how I love so much that he ended this album with those loud blistering guitars, hearing them fade away with his voice really made me tear up, in a way i saw that as a callback to that raw organic sound that he started with 10 years ago. The selfish part of me wishes it was so much longer lol. Well i'm rambling now, this album was so perfect; see you in March Kevin :)

That’s the most diplomatic comment here. Thank you for this! I just can’t enjoy this new album because it’s too soft, but I can live with they way you’re seeing it.

I don't think this album is soft. The lyrics and songwriting is where it really comes together. Strip away the style of music that might not be your preference and read each song like a poem. They really hit home. Especially with the way this year has turned out so far. Listen to his acoustic version of "On Track" that he just released this month ("I know it's nearly August"-good timing lol). It hits you like a ton of bricks.
The chords. The progression. Just… everything.

This whole album is honestly, the theme for 2020. God given timing on the drop of this whole album as well. The true genius and direction in art it takes in themes atmosphere and layers, is euphoric. The themes alone are timeless, but the character and instrumentals only help to make it the masterpiece it is. Truly this songs meaning is quite gratifying of letting go accepting, and moving on in the path you was made for. Spending time alone, accepting that being alone and being you is worth it. Ultimatlely just like the climax in this song, we will be alone, and us. But eventually that clock in life that ticks towards your future, your love, and your destiny, reaches one more hour

All those people said we wouldn’t last a minute, dear.
I’m with you, and I can roll into another year...”
This song is insane when you're high. I greened out (Smoking too much thc) and my senses were overloaded 50x. It felt so, surreal, cinematic yet depressing and pessimistic. I re lived memories that were stored deep in my brain. I'm sober now because of my career but if you get the chance, smoke a joint and listen to this. You won't regret it.
Me rn :
I feel that this man's music is so sequential, he is taking us through a journey and I'm all for it!
after 2 years this song is definitely still one of my favorite songs of his. it’s so magical.
Imagine it after 4 years! I’ve listened to this song on repeat sense release!
This song rips my soul out it’s crazy
You need to connect with this album, for real. That's how you understand its beauty. The more you listen to it, the meaningful it becomes.
No cap 🔥
I've been waiting for February 14th just to get Slow Rush. Happy Valentine's Day.
Same. I was super excited for Valentine's this year. Good on Kevin
I love that this song is getting the love it deserve
One more hour that I am blessed to listen to Tame Impala
(Crazy how short this 7+ min song feels)
For real....great point. How instant does this song sound like a classic.
Didn't realise it was 7 minutes until I read your comment, after listening to it twice.
MrSunGodTv it has such a good flow it doesn’t feel like any time has passed. Brilliant.
That outro might be the best thing he has ever made. At least for me.
No, you’re right.
Every time I listen to this song I'm in awe
The images in the cover art from this album remind me of my old house. We lived in a really broke neighborhood, and there was always construction and crap going on. There were mounds of orange colored dirt in our lawn and a lot found its way into the house, at least in the entrance. It was also a one story duplex, so it always seemed really weird compared to the houses of other families we knew. Upon entering, you would walk into a small room that seemed to perform the task of a "hallway." According to my memories, and considering the fact that I was a small child at the time, I'd say the space was about 5x3 feet. Peeling, cream colored wallpaper, with two colorful paintings sat on the front wall, both equal and opposite distances from a small shoe rack sitting on a fake tile floor (I found out it was fake because it was peeled it off once to install a replacement due to ripping.) I think one of the paintings was of fruit. Also at opposite ends of the "hall," were two doors, one leading to our house, and the opposite our neighbors'. Our neighbor's house's kitchen had bright teal walls and their bedrooms had colorful walls in purple, red, and yellow as well. The only room that didn't have colored walls was the living room. Our house was rather plain, but I remember getting in trouble for drawing on the walls once. I think I did it because I thought our house looked really boring. I got beat really bad afterwards lol. I just looked up the place on Google maps, and the shrub-like thing that used to be there is now bigger than the house itself. I thought it was going to get demolished or something, but I guess not lol.
(Edit: by album art, I don't just mean the one in this video, all the ones with colorful walls and weird floors lol, I'm not an expert on terminology when it comes to this stuff)
Oh
I've seen an image of sand pouring my window during a mushshroom trip while listening to Currents probably about 6 months ago... Thought that it was trippy that this was Tame Impala's new album covert art
A real location I believe, the ghost town in the Namib Desert but I could be wrong
@@ONeill01 Yeah, it's called Kolmanskop, it's a ghost town
Yah Boi Mavvy this is matrix stuff, totally flowing one consciousness trippy timetravelling shizzle!
Listening to this is making me cry.
I can’t stop.
It’s AMAZING.
Thank you
I feel like this is a song that brings fans of all Tame Impala’s eras together
Playing this song at 11pm on New Year’s Eve really hits different :’)
Shutup
the album builds on you with a slow creeping rush...and then you reach a point where it becomes the best thing you have heard in a long, long time
It still is the best album of 2020 for me and One More Hour has been my top Tame Impala song for a while now. The instrumentation, structure and emotion are all off the chain.
This song has really opened my soul, I listened to this song a year ago and didn’t understand the dynamics or the interest, but my soul has matured and this is one of my all time favorites now.
I couldn’t count how many times i listened to the last minute of this song. thank you kevin for being so original.
a beautiful ending those final lines fading out just incapsulate the true message of this album. Kevin has truly made a masterpiece here
all of kevins work leading up to this album have felt like an alchemical and philosophical magnum opus. this album being his enlightenment or philosopher's stone. the main visual themes of the album being sand and the colour red make me think this as well.
One of the best songs of the album!
This album is the only reason I’m alive right now.
..are you still listening?
@@Descro382 uh duhh 🙄
@@alicelannes1767 just making sure you're still alive 😂
@@alicelannes1767 so are you still listening?
She ded
Just listen to this when your going through something, it won't make you feel better but it just hits different in an incomprehensible way
I know!
Yes ❤
This cover looks like a house that’s been abandoned for so long, after most of humanity has vanished.
The Struggler the paint is definitely in good condition lol!
Ben Kromanaker wow that’s a lot of sand !!
Well it looks like the house is floating and getting covered in sand while still looking brand new so idk what all of those look like together.
The sands of time duhh
The album cover is based on an abandoned village in Namibia
The bass line starting at 2:04 is just something else
I dunno why, but this song makes me feel sad in a weird way, because at the same time it feels like there is hope. Like one needs to be really in touch with oneself in order to be truly happy, and not to lose our true essence in the way.
I've looked at an Apple Music interview and this album is trying to express what you say. You understand the creator's idea so well
The song feels not only really sad but also kind of angry in some parts
It feels like you're on the verge of massive change, stepping into the unknown.
Apocalypse Dreams level. Absolutely no words
Becker Aviation hopefully it grows enough on me to where I agree with you. I don’t think he’s written a better song than AD honestly. Maybe run away house city clouds?
@@brunskies92 man run away house city clouds was the first song of tame I ever heard and have loved him ever since. I always loved Lonerism right from AD I felt it hit it's groove and is just phenomenal till the end.
@@brunskies92 Hopefully! It grew on me instantly.
Apocalypse Dreams is iconic

Fffaaaccttsss
They're back for me
Yeah they have all returned now thank god 😁✌🏼
The ending resonates with my soul truly!!!!❤❤❤
I love the vocal harmony at the end
On Track. Borderline. One More Hour. One More Year. Lost in Yesterday. Is it true? It Might Be Time. Patience. Breathe Deeper Tomorrow's Dust. Glimmer. Instant Destiny. Posthumous Forgiveness.
the whole album lol is fire
lol u left out posthumous forgiveness ,, second half of that song is beyond levels
No Patience
Shaun Kemp that’s what heaven sounds like.
@@sylwesterreszke1981 lol he did leave it off the album i don't know why but patience is a banger as well
As long as I can (how could I love again?) The way his voice is just disembodied in that moment is almost ethereal. I love this song so much it's hard to describe how it makes me feel.
Tame Impala is the king of ending tracks, but it also helps that everything before it is also really fucking good.
Realizing his voice is one of the most important instruments on this album. It’s brilliant.
