I would argue that the “Jump” feature from the map doesn’t count, as it doesn’t use the B button. Otherwise, great video!

yes but there's another reason. the map jump is a superjump the same thing agent 3 performs when touches a launchpad.

26:00 I'd say the inkjet boost is actually a boost instead of a jump, since your feet aren't actually coming into contact with the ground at all
The zapfish was always a black colour. I think they were just making the artwork pop by making it blue. The difference in its appearance that Shiver mentioned is that for some reason he now has a funny little strand of hair.
You counting the menu jumps made me feel great pain.
Same with Ink Jet boosts.
Another way you can complete the 'Enemy Ink Is Lava!' stage without jumping is rapidly going in and out of squid form! If you're patient and don't go too far, squidflopping can *very slowly* spread your ink forward without expending any ink/getting you killed. It's also a pretty popular cheese strat playing it regularly!

Minimal jump run aside, the editing in this video is inkredible (lol) I had to rewind a couple times to replay certain sections because they were just too funny to watch only once! Definitely got some good laughs out of me with this one :D

I feel compelled to speak my mind. As an editor I feel that the videos you make are good.
Specifically, You sound solid and the way the video is make works well. I find over editing to be distracting at times.
So bits and small injections of stuff is fine. This video is riding that line for me of being entertaining but not overly distracting nor annoying.
That being said, just know that you are doing good work. You don't have to rely of that stuff too much and I'm perfectly content with the normal gameplay/commentary of the run :)

Thank you so much for the kind words :D The "muppet bit" is from the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared tv show. It actually was much quicker to edit than, say, the Xenoblade Chronicles bit. I edit in Davinci Resolve, and I used a new(ish) feature called Magic Mask. Made masking out the characters fairly easy.
Judging by the flip flops Cap'n Agent 3 wears, they were likely pulled from their vacation way too early

I love how you take these challenges way less serious and focus more on giving us the content we know and love, while making it also less grindy for yourself, keep it up! C:

As I mentioned at the end (while the background music was too loud, editing mistake on my part), I'll be making a follow up video within the next week-ish focused on the extra difficult, 'secret level' of Alterna. Any useful ideas / tips for reducing jumps will be addressed in that one :)
I have a tip! Instead of jumping just squid roll
@@Fantastic_Coder jumping requires a press of the b button, squid rolling also requires a press of the b button. Therefore it's considered a jump

I think this is going to far out of what we're looking at here but I've seen in speedruns that by messing with the menu in some way at a certain point you can create a bugged pause that during the rocket levels or final boas with skip an entire phase just by hitting the + button which could shave off a jump in one of those end sections if done correctly. you'd have to research how its done though
I wish there was a glitch where for this run you could glitch over The rocky hills

Never thought someone would make a "minimum jumps" challenge for splatoon since it's usually a useless move. kind of cool to see that there are actually areas that you need to jump for haha
(besides the jumps on the final battle of course, since they are really spread out)

I wouldn't count the *super* jump as an actual jump, because it doesn't use the b button. also it might be different in japonese where the thext might not literally say jump

The fact that all this is done with stick controls is the most impressive part. It was a pain to watch the camera be so stiff all the way through.

23:45 squidbagging near the edge of the ink splotches stretches them. you can then swim through the stretched ink splotches
I know that works with ink on normal ground but I would have thought that it would be impossible without dying around that kind of ink. Ill definitely try it out!
@@DPadGamer if you look at the clips you put in the video touching enemy ink doesn't kill you instantly/only touching a little bit doesn't kill you. the ink still stretches if you're standing completely in your ink :)

Hmm could squid rolling help cancel out some jumps? You do it by swimming fast enough to see ink coming up, then flicking the joystick in any other direction. I know it gives a little height, could it be enough?
Edit* never mind actually! I forgot you have to press the jump button as well to squid roll 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

in octopods at rest tend to flip out, you can use a squid surge to get the key, which doesn't technically count as a jump

I don’t think the Super Jump button in the menu as jumps. Also you could Squid Roll over some ledges if you time it right, meaning some jumps can be shaved off.
I think some of those might’ve been avoidable using squid surge.
im pretty sure for 6-5 you can spread ink by going into squid form alot
