I, too have lupus (almost 16yrs) as well as other complications ( nephritis, hypothyroidism, anemia, alopecia just to name some) and have been on dialysis. I just want to say to the ones who suspect they have it to take charge and talk to a doctor right away. The sooner they figure out what's going on, the better. Also DO NOT be afraid to speak up and be persistent if the doctor doesn't believe you. If you must find another doctor, this disease is too devastating to be taken lightly by a doctor who won't listen. For my newly diagnosed lupies, I know this is a lot, but remember you are not alone. One of my biggest advice is to please be compliant with your medications and doctors' appointments. I know it's easier said than done with everything we have going on but trust me it's not worth more meds, more hospital stays/visits or missing out with loved ones. Take it from me, taking your medications and going to your doctors' appointments will save you from so many problems. Not to mention your life.. Phew! I didn't mean to go on like this but if I can spare someone from all the unnecessary heartache then it's worth it. Remember we have Lupus, Lupus doesn't have us! Peace and Love everyone.

Hey! So I’m getting bloodwork done tomorrow to test if I have lupus. It could have started when I was super stressed last year and I started getting cold sores and started with migraines. I’ve been having skin problems since march, where I have this sun sensitivity causing rash/ blisters on my nose, chest, and back.
I have lupus for like 8 years already and I'm 31 years old. I'm now pregnant with my first baby (32 weeks) till now everything is going good. Lupus atacked me only in my scalp but like 3 years ago it started to come on my forehead. I live in Curaçao, small island in the Caribbean where it's sunny everyday. I find that people in the states have A LOT more symptoms then me, I see it every year in the comments. I really don't understand why but mine is getting worse but not that I suffer from more things due the lupus. I hope they can find the cure for this and why exaclty we got it. Keep your vitamin D up as well as your omega 3s & get blood work minimum twice a year check your organs and check your iron levels. Plant based diet is best to reduce the mucus in your blood. Lupus is inflammation from pus looping through your system attacking our organs.😮 Animal diet causes the pus / mucus.

If it is any help, i have had Lupus for 23 years. Sunlight or U.V triggers mine. I wear sunscreen and long sleves most of the time. Systemic lupus is no picnic but if you have a rheumatologist and a dermatologist it makes life better. ❤

My sister had lupus and it effected her lungs she was in the hospital for about a week and she got released the day of Christmas she couldn't walk on her right leg so they went to the hospital in a ambulance that day she found out she had a blood clot the size of her hand in her leg she cried she didn't want to go back she had to she was in the hospital again for 3 days and was putvon blood thinners for the rest of her life and she now takes pills instead of shots...She is a warrior and she is only 14 and went thru that she didn't deserve it i want to just take it away from her and give it to me...
