I am a female who was diagnosed with SLE in 1998. It hasn’t been a easy journey but i am doing well. Had a kidney transplant in 2016. For all my fellow lupus warriors out there I prayed God will give you strength and endurance to keep going.

Sorry to hear that. Sorry that you having to face that because ill treatment is one of the triggers to a major flare. Especially, if you respond to the the bad treatment or any opportunity that causes you to be stressed. Lupus is called the Wolf. So, it you react to people or situations that are unpleasant to you then you could get jumped by the Wolf...I will keep you in my prayers

I am sorry. I am being tested tomorrow because we're sure the thing that's been wrong with me all these years- is lupus. Makes me angry that less then 5 years ago. My parents gaslit me into stopping all my meds, telling me they were making me sick and I wound up in the hospital.

A dear friend of mine passed away from complications of Lupus. I never knew he had it. I spoke to him a couple weeks before he passed. He was in the hospital. Never thought it would be the last time we spoke. Looking back I remember the winged mask look on his face and flushing of his skin

My doctors think I may have lupus but because it can be so different for everyone they are hesitant on diagnosing me, my symptoms are become debilitating I now have pots so I have a fear of fainting everytime I stand, I tested positive be for ana antibodies, I have constant swelling and aching in my feet and knees and try to take care of my 5 month old daughter while constantly being tired aaaand I just started getting vitiligo patches on my arms so I think it's about time I get that diagnoses
Male 28, I was diagnosed with lupus when I was 12 during the 8th grade.
I flared during my sophomore year in 2010, mainly because I went out in the very hot sun.
after healing, like a dummy, I went out again this whole summer to parks, and now I am flaring up. The sun seems to be my #1 trigger.

@@perlapamela2023 ahhhh plaquenil, good times. I took that for 9 years, but my lupus was under very good condition, and plaq was messing up my eyes, so they said its ok to stop it.
Fasting, staying away from sugar, staying away from sun, good sleep!

Make sure to always go to a thyroid doctor, I had to take my thyroid out recently due to family history or thyroid cancer.
But, make sure to stay away from junk food and always check your thyroid health at the doctor.

Binge watching lupus videos because for a while now results in lab work, suddenly lab work showing signs, and well several sets of lab work later and each have come back with more. Not confirmed diagnosis yet but... Idk how to feel or what to do.
I am 22 years old with lupus, and my mother had it my entire life as well. i know how terrifying this stage can be, and the waiting feels like it lasts ages and if you get diagnosed, its always so overwhelming to gather all of this new information. i am so sorry that you are going through these events, and i suppose the best advice i can give is this: society can be judgmental and uneducated about other people's needs, and you have to remember to be as kind and understanding to yourself as you can. remember, people with autoimmune conditions are pretty badass. the only thing strong enough to kick our ass is us! (medically speaking, but i feel like that also applies to life itself.) people will shame others for so many things and frankly act absolutely silly about them. there is zero shame in doing anything that harms no one and improves your quality of life. many lupus patients may require something that improves their quality of life, but be judged or feel the need to judge themselves due to the standards other people place on people. but dont let others shame you for your needs, and dont let them convince you that you should shame yourself. anything that is harmless and helps you is good, even if people might find it "lazy" or "unnecessary." I'm 22 and use a cane to walk on my bad days, and many think im looking for attention, being dramatic, etc. but the truth is, it makes my days out of the house less painful, and i can run errands and socialize and do fun things without as much burden on my body. and who are they to tell me what i need? nobody can tell you how you feel but you. please look after your mental health as well, navigating any kind of chronic illness can be stressful and scary, and whatever methods of looking after your mental health work for you are going to help improve your quality of life. it sucks to be chronically ill. but the bad days just make some people appreciate the good days even more, and focus on looking forward to them again when things arent feeling good. find fun or relaxing or educational things that you can do while resting. my favorite is learning about anything and everything through the internet. the way i look at is "hey, i may not be able to do very much with my body right now, but i am learning and educating myself about the wonderful world. that's pretty cool!" if you do get a diagnosis of any chronic illness, it can absolutely suck. but being kind to yourself, listening to your own needs, and finding ways to enjoy life even with the struggle of your body is the sort of advice i feel like doctors do not give often enough. your feelings about your possible illness are all feelings that deserve to be listened to and expressed, and finding a balance between getting all of the scary and negative feelings out and finding ways to feel positive emotions within your physical limits has helped me so much. i hope things go as well as they can for you, and i wish you luck. im rooting for you!

My neurologist is referring me to a Rheumatologist because my blood work shows I tested positive for ANA antibodies. My aunt and my cousin on my mom's side both have lupus. I have a few symptoms but always thought my symptoms were related to Multiple Sclerosis as I have a lot of those symptoms. I still believe my symptoms are Multiple Sclerosis related. My neurologist wants to rule out these autoimmune diseases first before testing me for Multiple Sclerosis as they have some overlapping symptoms. I'm getting nervous now as I've had constant symptoms with no pause since the end of March that I feel are more related to Multiple Sclerosis. How will they test me for Lupus and other autoimmune diseases? Feeling a bit nervous about my appointment on July 10 😓
I’m kinda in the same boat been feeling ill for a couple of months positive Ana screen but it’s going to be about 7 months until I can see a rheumatologist from what I understand there’s no one test for each auto immune disorder it’s kind of just going over ruling things out maybe brain scans to see if theirs ms/lupus lesions from what I’ve read though the lesions of ms and lupus on the brain are very similar and can be mistaken for each other. MS and lupus have a lot of very similar symptoms to be fair.
Lupus does have photosensitivity that can make it easier to diagnose. Also they usually do ANA bloodwork and urine testing for lupus. How was your appointment?
I'm going to the Rheumatologist in about a month. I cannot wait to get tested and have some clear answers.
I wish You well. My husband is being referred to a rheumatologist in November. Something in his blood work . Also he's a prostate cancer survivor and since his radiation and seed implants he's had terrible pain in shoulder, groin, knee and ankle. He seems to think arthritis . Praying there is no metastasis.

Try a gluten and dairy free diet. Drinking baking soda helped me a lot. Celery juice every morning. In general lots of vegetables and fruits and nuts. If you are not allergic to them. .

I have petichae (point bleeding) that is getting worse, joint pain, Raynauds, rashes, weight gain, random night fevers, swelling of feet, shortness of breath, photosensitivity. Rhad this since 2011. I got sprayed by a crop sprayer, have interstitial lung disease. Doc saved my life in Philly Pennsylvania. Take cellcept rest of my life, have to get blood done every three months to keep eye on liver otherwise ok.

We're in the same boat, unfortunately. I used to work 2 full time jobs and was never this exhausted. Now I can't even keep one low energy job.

@@The_Only_Tracy im late but my mother passed away recently from the disease, My mother didn't have signs until one day she looked sickly and we thought it was a heart attack, so no it just showed up suddenly for her, she died this year to a heart attack which I believe was caused by lupus :(
