I wasn't expecting to cry today, but I should have known since I can't hear or read a paragraph about Titanic without breaking into tears. This was VERY well done. As someone fortunate enough to be born in America, it is HEARTBREAKING to me that so many sacrificed so much to have a chance at a better life, for them only to have a torturous end, and severe trauma for the ones who survived 😞 Thank you for this documentary. 🤍🕊️
As a filipino and learning about the hard life in ireland more than a hundred years ago and its influx of immigration for a better life, is a parallel and poignant reminder on what some filipinos are doing and going on today (working abroad for opportunities) and not to mention majority of irish and filipinos are catholics and superstitious! Having relatives abroad were considered status symbols in most filipino families (my clan included) eventhough i dont have relatives and ancestry onboard the titanic, i can't help but have a pang of grief and loss knowing on how much lives, hopes and dreams were lost on that tragedy!
May they have the everlasting peace that they deserve 🙏

Life is still hard here in ireland
This was well done, and even brought some tears to my eyes. My father always told me that we had a distant relative that died on the Titanic, although I do not not know information to follow up on his claim and my father has since passed on. But, the fact still remains that the majority of those who died were still Irish immigrants, people of our own blood and heritage. So many hopeful and new lives, cut short in just one night. I am glad to learn the stories of those 14 souls, and hope future generations will not forget again.
Not so. The majority of those who died were crew. Almost 700 male crew members died

No. Irish were amount the fewest of immigrants. US wasnt friendly with Irland at the time. There were more Swedish and Middle Eastern passengers than irish. You should really do just 1 simple google search. it would avoid allot of cringe and looking poorly educated.
Absolutely not. Smith, nor white star, wanted to employ the irish. Smith almost docked the ship and refuse to leave because he wanted Murdoch, the only Irish first crewmen, off the ship so badly. Didnt trust him as main crew head, which is what Murdochs station was, so demoted him on a whim to second officer and promoted lightoller in his stead.. Most workers were english and scottish.@@greenliter1
Almost none were irish. Irish were highly racists against at the time and now allowed to hold high positions by most english. They banged the ship together, but there were less than 30 working the ship.@@greenliter1
Of all the things I have read and seen about the Titanic, this was the one that made it the most real. May God bless all their descendants.

I recently got to visit the titanic artifact museum in Las Vegas; Now I’ve been interested in it since the 80s, read many books, watched documentaries, etc. Aside from seeing the wreckage in person, it’s bittersweet to artifacts and even the big piece from the ship itself. Sadly no one was allowed to touch the said big piece but still, amazing to see in person.

I have a friend who had a relative who was scheduled to sail on the Titanic, but her child got pinkeye and so they couldn’t go on that ship and were able to sail later.
This was incredibly well done and equally incredibly sad. These stories need to be remembered. Good job 👍🏾

I live in the Anthracite coal region of Northeastern Pennsylvania in a small community. We have a victim and a survivor of the Titanic buried in our Saint Mary’s Cemetery in unmarked graves. Their stories are recorded in our local newspapers as verification.

I am planning to write my own Titanic Story about these two ten year old cousins who sailed on the Titanic and Survived the nightmare of the shipwreck with their own courage and witts and their broken friendship but with great cost obviously meaning their families from their parents and older siblings did not survive and the sinking of the Titanic brings the two cousins relationship more closer and helps them reconcile and everyone who had actually sailed on The Titanic plays a part in the cousins story

Very sad story but told in such a well and respectful manner. I have no relation to titanic or to anyone from Ireland but I am a descendant of Sicilian immigrants and the story resonated with me hearing about their hopes for a better life in America. I’ve always been interested in the stories around the titanic and this one was not a disappointment. RIP to all the souls lost on the water that night.

The ship was conceptualized in 1907. Work began in March, 1909.

Fantastic Documentary. I had a relative on my late fathers side who emigrated to the US, not on the titanic though. He ended up in a gang called "The hole in the wall gang" and ran with Billy The Kid!

Save up for three years to die a horrible icy cold death in the mid Atlantic. The Irish were oppressed in their own land for centuries but have prospered at home and abroad since. Anywhere you find Irish communities they have succeeded and integrated despite often facing adversity.
Fantastic documentary here, and very well done. I’m so glad the white star line is out of business, because the way they took advantage of the survivors was downright despicable.

A lot of errors in this but cool story. If 2 pounds was worth 700 pounds in 1912 by that math $25 dollars would be worth about $9,000 dollars. Only a few people in the lifeboats even saw the Titanic sink. It was pitch dark. I could go on.

Titanic wasn't the fastest ship at that time it was white stars rivals the curnard with 2 express liners that can go much faster. With one ship holding the blue ribbon for 29years. Titanic and her sisters able to do 21-23 knots while the fastest liner can go 26knots or more at that time.
Whatever happened to women and children first? Or did the 3rd class not fit in the scenerio??
