I won an online match against Necrons recently where I teleported a builder behind their base, built a webway gate, then sent a couple squads of fire dragons through to focus the monolith. All while freezing it with my builders so they couldn't build anything. A fun time.
Used to play this back in the day. Got into it again recently. I’d normally go 3v3 but thought I’d try 1v1. Man I’m getting dominated. I think some people have been doing it for 16 years and I can’t compete XD
That's basically the case, unfortunately. It's pretty much zero new players and all just people who've been playing a refined style for over a decade. Team games are your best bet for learning, you might get flamed a little but the players will help you learn
I think I’m decent at team games but 1v1 is a totally different ball game. I wanted to ask, when someone rushes after your generators, is it better to try and match that by rushing their base? I found I tried chasing an imperial guard command squad around fruitless. Even with fleet of foot I couldn’t catch them and I think I wasted time and lost pressure trying to counter their attack rather than mount my own?
@@crukih7527 Generally a farseer is enough to chase them off with mind war, also it prolongs its effect as long as she's within a certain range (think a bubble) also a squad of rangers is a massive help to stop that as well. But yeah don't let them gen bust you early and you CAN go aggressive with reapers but can't do much to guard because they garrison and wreck your house. Can't really push them deep until you get fire dragons+falcons. Go for containment and seek to gen bust here and there if you can but don't push an infantry command early you'll die
You mention that Dark Reapers outrange Grenade Launchers with their second upgrade. Dark Reapers have only 30 range by default, part way between normal SM bolter(25) & Hev Bolter/Unupgraded Fire Warriors(35). The first Optics upgrade puts them at 35, the same as Hev Bolters/unupgraded FW, the second upgrade puts them at 40, equal to IG grenade Launcher & Mont'Ka FW. You would be correct if you were talking about Cultists though, only 35, same as first Optics DR upgrade, 5 less than 2nd upgrade.
Oh snap, I just checked and yeah IG launchers are 40 indeed. I guess the lack of setup time just gave the illusion of such. Thankyou for letting me know!
Great video! I'm FAR from an expert, but I think the units you don't rate very highly(Farseer & Harlequin) are both pretty good into orks specifically. Mind War on the Farseer is good for sniping out the Big Mek which orks tend to rely on pretty heavily in t1, he's a pretty significant bully. Harlequin is good for stealth detecting and tieing up Tankbusters in melee later on, since Eldar tend to have pretty weak stealth detection and busters are the main counter to the Falcon shenanigans.
I just found your channel, and I’m already in love. I bought a copy of the base game for myself and 3 of my friends during the steam sale and I can’t wait for all of us to get soulstorm so we can use all the races. Imperial Guard has caught my eye, and I cannot wait to still lose to all my friends lmao
@ninjacom3 just go with rangers at the start and break their moral, then it's just a little clean up, fire dragons in a falcon also just tear up all their low health support units and you should still be able to chase them down
This is a short Eldar guide, courtesy of Adeptus Administratum. 1) acquire Boltpistol (or any sufficiently powerful handheld weapon, most likely of Imperial origin), 2) remove helmet if present, 3) apply muzzle to your side of your head (or any other structurally inferior part of your head, like inside of your mouth), 4) praise the Emperor! 5) squeeze the trigger, 6) repeat previous step if necessary.
Chaos grenades are weak, you'll beat them with Dark Reapers without trying. Really early game, the Farseer's psychic storm is great against large groups of low HP models, Banshees with FoF are also great for typing up strong ranged races like IG+nades or Tau FW- just don't let the Banshees chase them unprepared into turrets T2 LPs or garrisoned buildings. Against low tier players in mid game, just spam Wraithlords- IG deal next to no damage against them & can only beat them with Psykers+Sentinels or Psykers+Laser HWT, 3 things bad players don't use properly- they also beat the sentinel at range with the brightlance upgrade & can just punch the HWT too so combining Sentinels or HWT with Psykers ability to shut them down are nearly essential to beat back Wraithlords. Against better players, just get close- banshees or dark reapers inside of the Falcon will do.Vypers can disrupt fairly well too. Late game, Eldritch Storm demolishes blobs of weak units with ease.
I actually think that eldar might not be the best race in the game. I think that chaos might have ninja'ed that moniker all along, they just are so kitted out in their T1 to T2 transition with a very stable deathball
Thank you i was about to say. His build order was good but add one squad of banshees to this you can render any enemy squad useless by tying them up in melee combat and upgraded banshee will melt anything on their own (they even fair well against light vehicles, it's ridiculous). Against IG who have basically no good melee units, Banshee are very effective. In multiplayer it forces intense micro to keep units alive from banshees.
How he makes the builders build automatically the next building and the troops capture the nex point plzzzz I'm new I have a set of key binds that were in the forum but I still don't know
It's an almost 20 year old game my man, you just aren't gonna get that here. But every strategy seen in these videos are used online there are just nuances and all that are very abstract and obscure that you can't be taught only learn by doing. You can go watch many replays online and you'll find similar if not the same builds as you do here, just these are dumbed down and easier to digest/follow. Most people just don't play online, it just isn't fun to get exodia'ed by super-vet players, and those who do play online are mostly comp stomping with friends or playing against friends directly not inherently interacting with the broader online sooo... it'd be a total wasted effort.
@@Kazrim I was actually playing the game since Winter Assault launch, I stopped playing regularly around 2013, & iirc, there was usually only around 30-50 people playing at that time, sometimes less & it wouldn't be uncommon see only 1 or 2 games waiting in the lobby- these days I typically see 2-4 times that. The point being, I' d actually argue it's grown since then, though that's perhaps due to it's strong Russian/Eastern European fanbase, I'm not sure how well your videos would cater to them.

I'm surprised nobody did a video explaining the unit roster of each race in Dawn of War 1, man. Miss opportunities😢
Thank you so much i have only started playing Soulstorm and this video really helped me play one of my fav factions. Btw keep up the great work😁
Eyyy I'm glad it helped!

One of my all time favorite games
You should do a video about dealing with tau as eldar. Its a brutal matchup.
Can’t you just bully them with elder mobility
@@countingcards1208 nope.

Step 1: Build a reveal capable unit
Step 2: Build melee units
Step 3: stab
early farseer, psychic storm the fire warriors and mind war the tau commander and follow up with howling banshees to keep them on the move

Ever thought about playing mods like unification, crucible or promod for this game? They have pretty active communities!
Haven't played Eldar yet. I've only really used Sisters in Soulstorm...and they seem to just absolutely wreck everything.
Hey quick question, how do you counter mass grenade launcher as eldar against IG or chaos ?
Chaos grenades are weak, you'll beat them with Dark Reapers without trying.

Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching homie!
Can you do unit tier list?
Is it a common feature or just for Eldar that damage while moving is decreased?
Just saw you were back but then noticed there was a month since your last video.
I mean this game is called dawn of eldar for a reason. There is a entire wiki page on it.
I wish dark reapers had a set up time. So they arent so universally good at everything.

what mod are you using?
how on earth is your camera so zoomed out?
camera mod
How he makes the builders build automatically the next building and the troops capture the nex point plzzzz I'm new I have a set of key binds that were in the forum but I still don't know
Hold shift when issuing commands it'll queue them thus includes point captures, movement, building... lots of things!
Great video, thanks. What mods are you using?
Just the camera mod that's all. Oh and gridkeys if you count changing the hotkeys as a mod
How the heal do you defeat invisible units??
warlocks (guardian leaders and the seer council) and harlequins can reveal invisible units! every faction has a few units that do this
We need guides against real players)
Against computer you can win producing any units and any buildings)
