Wow!!! That was unbelievable from the size caught on an ultralight, the going around the trolling motor shaft, to how beat up that fish was and still alive! How in the world was that thing still alive especially with missing its gill plate. With all the different factors in that catch, that was definitely a catch of a lifetime.
Nice catch congratulations from Germany.😊 I catch yesterday a 80cm pike on my Ultralight with a 0,225mm Fluocarbon. I know how much fun you have in the drill 😅😂
That was definitely a frankenfish crazy with all that damage but shows how resilient some fish are. Also would have loved to seen that catch in the kayak. Keep having fun.
Happy Resurrection day Justin I love watching these old videos of yours because it shows me what type of fisherman you was and the type of fisherman you are now and the type of fisherman your going to be.
Man I got so tied up in the fight I had to go back to video to hit the thumbs up button that was crazy congrats friend huge fish for light tackle and having to maneuver around the trolling motor great job
Got to say what a fish no matter what it was. Sir your making some of the best videos on RUclips as of right now for sure keep them up. Well sir till next's time GodBless and Tight Lines.
I know that was an AWESOME fight Justin. Way to go. What a wierd fish. I was wondering if you and Joe knew each other, lol. My favorite 2 catfishing youtubers.
Catching a paddlefish I have not seen my mama caught one back in 74. It was the last one that I have seen caught since then and now it's 2022. You did a hell of a job getting that fish into the boat on 4 lb test. Anybody would have been proud to have been able to have done that. The paddlefish is a unique creature and I'm glad that you let him go. That one has had a hell of a rough life.
That's a huge fish on 4 pound test and it fought so much ! It definitely had a bad encounter with a boat prop ! Congratulations on the unusual catch ! 👏
Thanks for all you do. I've learned a lot and using what I've learned I smashed my freshwater PB this week with a 49 lb blue cat on the James this week.
Awesome fight and what a catch!! You have landed more paddlefish in the last year. Saving that one a couple years ago paid off. As always, great video Justin. Have a blessed day and safe 4th.
I'd say he/she got a little to close to barge prop for sure! Congratulations on catching such a biggin on 4 pound test! Had to be fun for sure. I also love watching Joe and his brother catching fish. Good guys, good channels too!
I caught a flathead once that had huge bump between it's eyes. It was so odd I took a sample of the bump and sent it to the Kansas DNR. The results came back and they said the fish had AIDS. They said it must of got hit by a ferry boat 😲
Last year I saw a few damaged-looking musky here in WI. I hope there's nothing going on with their gills. We have enough problems around here already. Those giant carp are knocking on the door too. Can't keep them out of Lake Michigan forever. Nice job on that rod angle like serious pro on that fish.
That would have been one incredible ride in the kayak! No doubt you would have to follow him and put pressure on him to keep him out of structure! I was born in Florida I'm living in Colorado, no shark fishing up here, but I've been riding dirt bikes since 5 years old
Congrats Justin. Pretty sure that ultralight combo saved the day with that paddle fish only be skin hooked. Allowed you to fight the fish and not horse it in. Glad the line didn't break on that TM. That sure was a wild catch.
I fish a lot of great sturgeon up in western Canada and you handle this fish the way it should be, keeping yourself and the fish calm. Once the fish get panic it will roll and jump, when that happen its sharp body will cut your line or the line just snap when that heavy body hits the water. Good job!
Still an awesome fight and catch and probably a record for tackle size. One in a lifetime, Justin. I hope he makes it. What a hard ass life. My big ones were a 12lb large mouth on 2lb line and a 16lb cat on 4lb.
@@bobbyjohnson6107 Thanks. Yes totally unexpected while fishing with a little beetlespin for crappie. Barely got her in the boat. The small wire hook was bent a good bit.
I was using an Ultralight once in the Illinois River with 4 pound test also. Something just grabbed my bait and took off, I lust left the bail open, and waited about 2 hours. Then reeled the fish right in, it was a 14 pound carp. Was not the kind of fish I wanted it to be, I was just glad I got it in.
That was a sweet catch! Roughest lookin fish I’ve ever seen. I snagged a sturgeon during snagging season earlier this year from the bank. First time I went snagging in 10 years, it went 80lb a maybe more. According to charts on length and girth about a 45+yr old fish. 20lb line he made it seem like 4. Lol. Sweet catch there!
Was doing some ultralight fishing with gulp minnows, hooked up with a small sunfish that got ambushed by roughly a 3 pound bass, 5'6" rod, 2 pound line, got the bass pinned and was a nerve racking fight to get it in, the rod barely had enough backbone to even turn the fish
HOLY 🐄 AND GREAT DAY IN THE DANG MORNING!!!!😱 And hooked him in the eyeball nonetheless?! CONGRATS Justin!!🎉🎈🎊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 P.S. Happy Friday & Happy Fishing!😃🎣
Absolutely amazing catch! That looked like it was a ton of fun! I live in Dayton TN and kayak fish/bank fish. Maybe we can collaborate sometime. Tight lines! Have a safe holiday weekend!
Crazy! Lol! Still surprised we got that fish in the boat considering the light line, wrapped around trolling motor, etc. But you did it! Great job!
Yeah! That was a great job guys. What a heck of a time. The boat handling Joe, prolly helped a lil, lol. But 4 lb test! Are you kidding me!
Wow!!! That was unbelievable from the size caught on an ultralight, the going around the trolling motor shaft, to how beat up that fish was and still alive! How in the world was that thing still alive especially with missing its gill plate. With all the different factors in that catch, that was definitely a catch of a lifetime.
I love seeing grown men become kids again. So much excitement.

That paddlefish would be a poster child for Perseverance. No matter what, persevere.
Man I got so tied up in the fight I had to go back to video to hit the thumbs up button that was crazy congrats friend huge fish for light tackle and having to maneuver around the trolling motor great job
Love it...I used to use ultralight for Kings on the great lakes...but I had to follow them in the boat. Congrats
Got to say what a fish no matter what it was. Sir your making some of the best videos on RUclips as of right now for sure keep them up. Well sir till next's time GodBless and Tight Lines.

That was wild! Never have seen a paddlefish before. Love your videos!
Very Cool. Was fishing the pier at the Chickamauga dam and saw a sturgeon shadow swim under that was every bit of 6 to 8 feet long!!
Thanks for all you do. I've learned a lot and using what I've learned I smashed my freshwater PB this week with a 49 lb blue cat on the James this week.
Congrats on that new pb!
This was epic to watch. Congratulations!!
Awesome fight and what a catch!! You have landed more paddlefish in the last year. Saving that one a couple years ago paid off.

He definitely had a ruff life and on top of that he got hooked in the eye 🤦🏾♂ just keeps getting better.
Awesome man !! Congrats !
After watching this video that makes me wanna come to Chattanooga Tennessee and to go Spoonbill fishing.
That would have been one incredible ride in the kayak! No doubt you would have to follow him and put pressure on him to keep him out of structure! I was born in Florida I'm living in Colorado, no shark fishing up here, but I've been riding dirt bikes since 5 years old
What a unique situation.. awesome. Poor fish though, all those injuries.
WOW!!! Great fight.

Congrats. Caught 1 of these back in the early 70s off of Old Hickory Beach. Definitely a fun fight. Destroyed my little Zebco. Lol
Still an awesome fight and catch and probably a record for tackle size. One in a lifetime, Justin. I hope he makes it. What a hard ass life.
My big ones were a 12lb large mouth on 2lb line and a 16lb cat on 4lb.

That was a sweet catch! Roughest lookin fish I’ve ever seen. I snagged a sturgeon during snagging season earlier this year from the bank.
