thanks for showing us the right receipt for cell activeater.when i first wanted to use a cell activater there were so many people telling you to buy all kinds of different stuff to get cells and i wasted a lot of money .love your work they are all beautiful
Wow for months I’ve been watching videos and trying my own experiments, and this video clears up the entire mystery of cells! I’m going to find me some Australian Floetrol come hell or hi water! Best video on you tube for cell activator recipes!
I am so happy to discover your channel! You have made the mystery surrounding Shelee recipes disappear! Uncomplicated and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing all these simple and affordable ways of getting it done
Was that just plain paint out of the tube or bottle used to demonstrate how the CA works? I have been wondering if it interacted with the PM in the mixed paint colors to create the cells or if the CA would react the same way if used with paint that is not mixed with a pm so I just wanted to confirm this concept with you. Thanks for the easy to understand video.
Hi dear, acrylic pouring is all about consistency. So it's a big YES! you must mix your paint to get the right consistency. Even if your CA is perfectly made, you won't get the result expected if your colors don't have the right consistency. I shared few color recipes on my channel. It should help you ;)
So if your saying that a drop too much of this or that affects the ability to produce the bloom technique cells than how is it possible to get it right? Its like saying that one grain of salt or one drop of water can throw off the entire reaction. Its like the chances of getting it correct are ...1% in a million. I know this is an exaggeration but I guess when I bought all these products and wanted so badly to produce the creations I see the experts making in these videos I had no idea how difficult it would be. Many experts dont even tell you an exact amount to add and just say a few drops or they say until its the consistency of whatever, honey,or warm honey etc. So to recreate this consistency with so little room for error is extremely difficult,at least for me. I dont want to keep wasting paints and products so let me ask you this. Would you guarantee you could teach someone how to produce the kind of cells your able to achieve assuming they have all the proper paints, tools, products and mix it according to what you say to do? What would you charge to show me how to do this? I have seen you use many paints out of the bottle, folk art brands, maybe deco art,so those dont even seem to be mixed with pouring medium which confuses me because I though all the paints have to be mixed and tested before they are applied to the canvas. What am I missing? You can email me at ilovemybear2010@gmail.com if you prefer to chat privately.
Hi Nancy, Thanks for the demo. Do you suggest mixing the this cell activator “fresh “every time on the day of your pour, or if I mix It and it sits in a bottle for a couple of weeks lets say , will the mix loose its effect to creat cells or not? Thanks for the help.
Great tutorial , thank you just a question, at the end of the video, did you put also the same quantity of floetrol on the blue and on the red color ? before pouring the white and the black on the top ?
I've not started acrylic pouring as yet, still collecting supplies I will need and researching techniques etc. The Shelee art blooms is one I do plan to attempt when get my supplies so thank you so much for sharing this activator recipe. I do have a couple of questions I am hoping you can help me with and they are, Do you use floetrol in the colours also and the pillow/base colour or just in the colours you want to use to activate cells? TIA
Can the Activator be stored in a capped container... like I do with acrylic paint? Seems I might not need so much at one time - and don't want to waste it.
Beautiful work! One question though. What is the difference on the RESULT, between this recipe and the recipe you have in your video #26? I know this one is with Australian Floetrol and the other with ink and water, but why two different recipes? Thank you
Sorry for my late response. There are a lot of cell activator recipes out there. The reason I shared 2 recipes is because Aussie floetrol is not available in some countries. It’s why I shared a recipe with and without Aussie floetrol ☺️
With the Aussie Floetrol, most of brands work. This cell activator works with the bloom technique. If you don’t blow on your CA, you won’t get cells. I hope it helps 😉
Quelle est la différence entre l'activateur de votre vidéo 26 avec l'encre et celle çi ? les 2 fonctionnent pour les blooms , laquelle est la mieux ? Merci
Hello Nancy ! in the video you are using a tablespoon - is it an american, english / canadian or australian tablespoon please? (The unit of measurement varies by region: a United States tablespoon is approximately 14.8 ml (0.50 US fl oz), a United Kingdom and Canadian tablespoon is exactly 15 ml (0.51 US fl oz), and an Australian tablespoon is 20 ml (0.68 US fl oz)
Hi Annabel....it doesn’t matter. You must you 3 parts of floetrol for 1 part of Amsterdam paint. It could be [3oz of floetrol:1oz Amsterdam] or [300ml of floetrol:100ml of Amsterdam] or [6 tea spoons of floetrol:1 tea spoon of Amsterdam]........ the ratio should always be (3:1) 😉
Ok I just did what you did and I do not get big defined cells. I feel like I am on the twilight zone. I watch all of you mix and pour and get these great big cells and I bought all the same products and cant get the same results. I spend 100's buying a ton of products and am very frustrated. I did a 3:1 ratio of aussie floetrol to white amsterdam paint. Then put down a dab of golden fluid acrylic from the bottle with the ca on top and blew. I got some fine lacing but no defined cells. What could I be doing wrong?
Hi, sorry to hear that. The cell activator recipe is one element for the success of bloom technique. I haven't tried Golden Acrylic yet. Make sure your colors have the right viscosity....I shared few color recipes on my channel. If your colors or pillow paint is too thick or too thin, even if your CA is perfectly made, you won't get the result expected. I hope it helps ;)
Sorry for my late response. Australian Floetrol is available on: - Ebay - wholesalepaint.com.au/products/aus-floetrol-500 - fluid-art.co/products/australian-floetrol I hope it helps ☺️

Thank you for sharing this. I needed the visual!! 🥰

Thanks so much for sharing this, Nancy! You show everything so clearly. I am working up the courage to try a bloom sometime the way you teach it!
Thank you so much Anna. If you need help with the technique, let me know ☺️
Does it have to be just Amsterdam paint or can it be any brand
Thank you Nancy 💖 you’re an angel
Awwww thank you so much 😊
Thank you and very much appreciated! x
Thanks to you ☺️
Thank you so much for sharing, Nancy. I don't have Sargent PM. Can I substitute Liquitex PM?
Do you have to use Amsterdam paint or can it be any paint?
Can you use other brands of titanium White or does it have to be Amsterdam paint?

thank you, you really help mi :o)
For bigger cells, does the cell activator need to be thicker or thinner?
Thank you

😚😚😚merci
Great tutorials . Thanks. About how long does the bottled cell activator keep?
I would say about 2-3 months if the bottle is well preserved.
So it works with your normal coloured paint recipe. Sargent pm. If so that great.
Yes it works Carole....I tested it before doing my video 😉

Do I have to use Amsterdam paint with the Aussie Floetrol? I'm not getting any cells following your recipe.

What if you only have access to American Floetrol?
See video #26 might help you
My video #26 explain how to make a cell activator without floetrol 😉
It's just a shame that us in the States can't buy this Floetrol. They're run by the same company, so why? They'd make a ton more money.
The Aussies just call it "Floetrol"
Unable to buy australian flo at a SANE price. Nice video. Useless at this time😣
You can find other cell activator recipe on my channel if needed 😊
