HAY Making in Romania

A traditional Romanian family setting up handmade wooden frames for drying hay. The hay will be loaded on these frames and will remain outside for two weeks before being loaded in shelters.

super cool idea. I might do this. when sickle buy hand tend make little hay every day. rack like this great. I was cut high let grasses dry on grasses go back secound cutting after first. I was think make hand bailer with 2x4 make box. lay string on one side down bottom. then push plunger or hammer with squre bored make tight. then tight strings up. but afraid cut feed animals to soon. when get cut enough grasses going see 400 bales by hand. one two bales every couple days. also play idea grow wheat or oats use feed animals too. got sickle scythe supply. supper happy with it.

Living a good, healthy, albeit hard life that we in North America (Canada) would benefit from. We tend to be far too sedentary and our health can suffer. To cut hay with a scythe and gather by hand would send some of us into spasms. The gentleman was likely rather accurate in his estimations as to how things would go should disaster strike.

I've never seen frames used for drying. I guess they are useful for small fields and wet climates that have short weather windows for haymaking. Thanks.
