The most important part is the angle he drilled for the tooth holes - it makes raking so much easier.

Just a translation note: English has a very bad convention for referring to woods which means that maple, poplar, willow, and sycamore are all hard woods despite being fairly soft. The rule is that all broad leafed trees are hard, and all other trees are soft no matter their actual hardness.
