This is a great video. I appreciate that you selected the video cuts that focused on techniques and construction to make it easy to follow. The additional info and links to other projects is really helpful also! I'm fascinated with completely unplugged woodworking. These videos bridge the gap between reading books about it and actually seeing the tools in use. I hope you do a lot more! I've subscribed and will keep watching. If I could make a suggestion - a little bit of verbal explanation before or after the work would be helpful for newbies like me. I'd also like to know things like what kind of wood you recommend, whether the wood is still green, what you use to seal it afterwards. Edited - I see you're adding commentary in some of your other videos. Thanks! But even without those things. I'll still be watching. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Sooo cool seeing someone in your age group actually having some talent besides playing video games! Stay safe and keep on making/teaching us at the same time!
No fluff, no clickbait, no sponsors. Just an experienced craftsman building a tool. Amazing. I have probably watched this single video more times than any other video on RUclips.
I personally love woodworking hand tools, and this video was like a warm cup of cocoa on a chilly evening. Thank you for not shying away from the 'old way 'of making things!
Love this because it is a simple saw build and no glitz and glamour. Reminds me of how things were done once upon a time. Nice to see that people still believe in the old ways.
Thanks! You did some really nice work! And they wonder why men of the mountains had strong arms, hands, and a very healthy appetite. I'd guess all that was true of you doing this type of work. Reminds me of my youth watching and helping an old man in the mountains long ago. He was definitely a hillbilly and moonshiner!
This couldn't come at a better time. I am holed up in my workshop in a blizzard trying to stop the voices in my head from telling me to make something. I started following the bodgers from the UK last year and need to stock up on my wood processing tools and this piece is perfect. Thank You so much. Doubt it will quiet the pesky vermin in my head though. They are never satisfied by finishing one project, they always want more. You know how it is I'm sure. Great channel.
Wonderful video. Very spiritual much like The Japanese. I listen to Japanese Shamisen, Koto, and Flute in my shop while I work with hand tools. It keeps me centered and prevents me from rushing.Wonderful bow saw. I just finished a small turning saw. Be well and best regards.
Thanks, I like Japanese music as well, as long as it's the calm stuff. Some of the flute playing gets a little intense sometimes but in general it is good calm stuff.
Just awesome. I downloaded the video so I could watch it again after watching it the first time. I have since made my frame saw out of walnut & Oak (oak crossmember). However, this video is so peaceful, I had to watch it again when I saw it on my list today. Thanks!
Such a nice peaceful video. I appreciate videos with commentary but it's nice to mix it up and just watch the work being done sometimes. It turned out beautifully.
Dear "peaceful woodworking" - fellow. Wonderful. I enjoyed watching this really peaceful woodworking and good example of fine craftsmanship very much. Thanks a lot for making, taping and sharing. All the best luck and health to you. Best regards.
LOVE it !! Very encouraging, as this makes the project "do-able", even for ( or especially for ? ) those who're just setting out on their life-changing woodworking adventure. Inspirational !!
yeah, the pull cut saw has made a lot more guys capable of cutting straight lines. I will say though, I like the way it cuts, but I don't like that the blade has to be replaced and not self sharpened. I can still hand sharpen my "western" saws.
Thanks, I vaguely remember seeing one on the Woodwright's Shop, but could not for the life of me remember the name. I'm watching your shaving horse video now.
Very nice! Saw you had trouble getting the small batton to catch on the cross rail. I wind mine up with the batton cocked at an angle so it misses the rail; then when its tight, I just tip it down till it hits the rail. Much easier for me.
It's a common way to split out stock for a lot of green woodworking projects, makes for strong parts. It's also just an amazingly simple and fairly easy way to break down a log.
Thanks, it was a fun one to make. A lot of my videos require so much messing with the camera it can take some of the fun out of the project, this one was fun to make, film and post. Glad you enjoyed it.
I really liked the lack of voice over here. I do like your voice overs (I'm a new fan and just binged your trestle table vids), but the simple, elegant nature of the piece lent itself very well to the combination of the pastoral sounds of nature and the sounds of the work. I could just feel the wind on me when I heard it. Great video, thanks!
Thanks, normally I edit all the video then go back, watch it, and start the voice over.....when I watched it this time, I though...."I'm done". I thought the video was self explanatory and represented the reason I was outside doing this kind of work to start with. I appreciate your comment and time spent watching my videos. If you look in the description of this video, there are other links to similar videos you may like......but a little more talking. Thanks again.
I really loved this video. I have respect for you and your style. It is in my nature to love woodworking projects but this was just awesome. You have the enthusiasm and strength of someone with passion. I could only strive to achieve such a skill.
This was your first video I watched. I'm all, "Cool, he's got the same kind of tools I've got. Nothing too fancy. Let's check out the rest of the channel... Ooh, an oak table build, that should be interesting to watch." Not to down Festool. Just a little jealous of the funds available. I definitely enjoy seeing videos of projects like this one, though.
+Amelia Piper I started with cheap chisels, a broken miter saw, an old metal circular saw that shocked me and a black and Decker drill. Most would not be jelous of what it took to get to where I am now. In the end your looking a a few thousand dollars worth of tools that most of my income is based off. Just putting things in perspective. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Perfect. Video. Demonstration. Background soundtrack. Commentary. End products. Thank you.
Bravo, clean and crisp….no script needed….appreciate your time and thoughtful presentation.
I learned some things. Thanks!
Finally someone who realizes you don't need annoying music all the way through
And record at normal speed. not double or triple speed.
Best sound...nature;)
A country boy can survive!!! Great video !
Thanks Hank, glad you enjoyed it.

Very nice work especially from stump lumber all hand cut shaped and bored. I especially like your design. Very nice work and video.
Nice, quiet and complete video. As meditating and relaxing as it is educational. Love it. Thank you!
Thank you
What a fantastic hand made saw so much work to make but worth it
Thanks Kurt

Impressive skills: woodworking AND editing!
No fluff, no clickbait, no sponsors. Just an experienced craftsman building a tool. Amazing. I have probably watched this single video more times than any other video on RUclips.
Thank you Matt.
Very impressive young man!
Love this video. Nothing better than starting with raw materials and ending up with a beautiful product. Keep these kinds of videos coming
Thanks, I'm planing on doing more videos like this as well.
I personally love woodworking hand tools, and this video was like a warm cup of cocoa on a chilly evening. Thank you for not shying away from the 'old way 'of making things!
It's nice to have a break from the noise of power tools.
A well-designed, well-made, and very useful saw. Well done!

MRrwmac did you say moonshiner? 😊

awesome craftsmanship the only thing i can criticize really are the shoes

Very well done . A young man with skill to make wonderful tools from a bit of old log., Bravo.
Excellent workmanship, and your choice of a blade (one that's more applicable to woodworking than to processing fire wood) makes perfect sense.
One of my favorite videos of yours. Visually really well done. And the woodwork is really well done. Thanks.
Thank you.
Excellent! And I wear Crocs at all times except when blacksmithing and welding.
Real craftmanship here! Kudos from Argentina. Just made one myself with some power tools, but yours makes mine look like crap!
Amazing work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Subscribed.
It's fun and edifying to watch you work!
Lovely piece of work. Great video, captivating.
Thank you. I very much appreciate your work and skill. Thanks for uploading this.
Thanks
A very nice informative video. Thank you Sir!
wow, a portable shaving horse - that's an brilliant idea. I gotta build one for the indoor workshop
Very much enjoyed this video. thank you
Thank you for putting out this wonderful ANTI-RUclips video. In my shop tools on wood provide all the music I need.
Very well done!
Just awesome. I downloaded the video so I could watch it again after watching it the first time. I have since made my frame saw out of walnut & Oak (oak crossmember). However, this video is so peaceful, I had to watch it again when I saw it on my list today. Thanks!
What a wonderful video
I didn't see a tape once, just a marking gauge. Always like making things free form, nice!
I do a lot of that when it doesn't matter
Excellent video, thank you. I’m impressed by the variety of your video mix and look forward to watching and learning more.
Such a nice peaceful video. I appreciate videos with commentary but it's nice to mix it up and just watch the work being done sometimes. It turned out beautifully.
Thank you, with certain videos I feel that the action of what I'm doing is self explanatory.
Very nice build. I enjoyed it.
Thank you.
Good job nice saw.
Dear "peaceful woodworking" - fellow. Wonderful. I enjoyed watching this really peaceful woodworking and good example of fine craftsmanship very much. Thanks a lot for making, taping and sharing. All the best luck and health to you. Best regards.
Thanks for showing your basic construction! I'm a beginning woodworker , and I've been put off by others that require much more refinement.
Thanks
Beautiful process, beautiful result.
Thank you
nice looking saw good video
You have great skill..well done
Thank you.
Hi JC, was really looking forward to this vid and you didn't disappoint yet again. Really liked the way you left music out of the vid. Thanks
Thanks, I liked the quiet approach to this video as well.
Great work, and great skill. Thanks for showing it to us.
Thanks for watching
Beautiful and useful.
Thank you.
I enjoyed the video, nice work son. Very nice bow saw, good job
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video.
LOVE it !! Very encouraging, as this makes the project "do-able", even for ( or especially for ? ) those who're just setting out on their life-changing woodworking adventure.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Awesome craftsmanship!
Thank you Jason.
I enjoyed it and it relaxed me!! Thank you! Great looking saw! 👍👍👍😎🇨🇱
That is some good straight grained oak. Super project with hands tools. Good thing you finished before the snow fell. Perry would be proud! LOL
Ha, Thank you.
simply perfect!!!!!keep tutorials 'cos new carpenters need to know how to use hand tools like our ancestors
A pleasure to watch
Thank you
Nicely crafted; and seems to cut through wood great.
This reminds me of the Primitive Technology videos, but with a little more advanced technology.
Ha, I'd like to have his views!
JBR true! and peaceful cuisine. not to mention the samurai carpenter, because of the saw. he's getting better at this.
yeah, the pull cut saw has made a lot more guys capable of cutting straight lines. I will say though, I like the way it cuts, but I don't like that the blade has to be replaced and not self sharpened. I can still hand sharpen my "western" saws.
That should be your username
"A little more advanced technology"
Thomas Russell You can sharpen a Japanese saw. It’s just difficult and time consuming.
Nice job. Cool project.
Thank you
I'm sorry that's not a framing saw it's a work of art good job and video 👍👍👍🇺🇸
Fine work, sir. Fine work!
I gotta build a bench like that. The way the carving vice clamps is different from any modern vise I have.
It's called a shaving horse. There is a video in the description.
Very beautiful frame saw, and great video
Thank you.
Great love and care shows from your hand movements.
You sure have talent, nice build and very relaxing video.
Thanks for sharing.
Good job!
Great job!
This is really nice work. You make it look so easy
Absolutely gorgeous

When I was a kid I remember my great uncle would make rocking chairs like this .
It's a common way to split out stock for a lot of green woodworking projects, makes for strong parts. It's also just an amazingly simple and fairly easy way to break down a log.
Nicely done m8
One of the best videos I have ever seen
Thanks, it was a fun one to make. A lot of my videos require so much messing with the camera it can take some of the fun out of the project, this one was fun to make, film and post. Glad you enjoyed it.

Nice. Very enjoyable.

Amazing skills from a young man that were once commonplace and now all too rare.

Something about traditional woodworking in Crocs that just made me laugh...hahaha. Great work...i need to get hot making my horse and tools.
Nice! Enjoyed watching you make this...
Thanks
Very cool
I really loved this video. I have respect for you and your style. It is in my nature to love woodworking projects but this was just awesome. You have the enthusiasm and strength of someone with passion. I could only strive to achieve such a skill.
Thanks, I had an especially nice time making it. I had been in the shop a ton and it was a nice break.
Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing.
Loved the video!

Brilliant
Cheers mate, I admire you
Mad skills.......👍🏻
