My grandpa use to make those..just a little bit longer...my mother is here for the holidays and we're remonissing abouth the good old times and granpa's "golden" hands..she compares me to him..gives me warm feeling in my hart..you sir have those golden hands for sure.
Great video, really showed the process clearly. I watched my grandfather fifty years ago, make a bow saw from an oak sapling in about 20 minutes. The only thing he used was a pocket knife and the saw blade. He also used the leather lace out of his jacket for the tension string. I always remember it, because he made it from seemingly nothing and used the saw all afternoon to prune large apple tree branches down. He split the uprights about two inches up, slide in the blade and lashed it with twig and string. He used two "Y's" on a third branch for the center spreader bar and used the lace and a stick to tighten the saw. It was amazing and it always makes me think of different ways of doing simple things which we just take for granted today. Cheers, wonderful video.
I watched 5 bushcraft videos this morning with the sound muted because all they did was talk about how many views or likes or what their world opinions were. I watched yours with headphones on to hear the cutting of the wood, the scribing, the carving.... it was like listening to poetry. Thank you!

Merry Christmas from Thailand!!! This is one of the best Bush Crafting videos out there - you go straight to work - no blah blah blah - excellent production value. NE Thailand
Yes! 4 sure! It's a real attention getter... I was impressed by his wood chopping technics. A good way of minimizing errors. Step by step. Carefully. Calmly. 👏👏👏 Old schooler
You are a Master Craftsman! Everyone else Don’t be fooled, his work, especially with the axe, is going to be very hard to replicate. Enjoyed watching you do it.
Beau travail artisanal ! Bravo pour avoir le bon goût de ne pas mettre de musique. Juste le bruit des outils et le chant des matériaux. Rien d'autre et c'est parfait !
Stunning. I’v been indecisive on what saw to upgrade too and had my eye on a buck saw for a while. Perhaps now making my own would be the most rewarding option!
This video is just....wow, Ive been wanting to build a saw frame for awhile but felt uninspired by all the models id seen. Until now. Absolutely gorgeous work.
This is stunning. When I watched this vid I got goose bumps. Of course curved branches to cut thicker trees. Genial! And that yakut blade.. Perfect, inspiring. Congrats Man! I go into the woods to find curved brances and staring to carve similar saw. Thanks to share your knowledge.
That was an amazing video. I like your idea of using bent wood instead of the straight limbs that I traditionally see used. That's an idea that I will definitely have to try out with my Scout Troop. Thank you very much for sharing.
I just attempted my first buck saw after seeing yours in past videos. Thank you for the detailed video! Now I’m out to do a better one than my last. Keep it up Rune!
Are you referring to the "shaving horse" he used? Coopers (barrel makers) and archery bow makers and furniture makers, as well as many other craftsmen have been using them for at least the last five or six hundred years. Found in every woodworkers shop for centuries. Today's equivalent would be "Saw Horse/bench vise/wood lathe". There are many different kinds and styles often depending upon region and craft. Plans on the net. A bit of a lost art
Just came across your channel. Reminds me of the Primitive Technology channel. No words needed. Universal language.. Just passing the knowledge along. LOVE IT!!!
That was a very impressive video. The saw construction was awesome. I really like the way you frame your videos. You must have studied photography , either that or you have a natural gift. wonderful. Please show more videos that showcase your skill sets. Much love and respect from Canada. Merry Christmas and the very best in the New Year

raghvendra singh. He doesn’t need a voice. It’s wonderful watching videos from someone who doesn’t feel the need to blather all over it! His quiet videos speak very loudly!
will make myself one using some beautiful hardwood from my country, Argentina. Let's hope it comes out well. Thank you for making these videos, you are literally doing what i wanted to do for like 20 years
You, sir, are awesome! I am completely amazed at your skills and ingenuity. I bet you even made that pencil you were using, too! You have certainly found your niche in life. Thanks for sharing it with us.

That's a great story.
My father was always 'making things' when I was a kid in the 60's
I think we all know that the real star of the show was that hatchet
😂
Was thinking the axe is the “Co-Star” 👍
Axe not hatchet, hatchet's are smaller.
What better way to spend the morning than watching one of your videos. Keep up the great work!

@@aszkepucz2847 Hey Rudy! It's one in the afternoon here in Florida, and 70°F! Haha.
