I love your videos Bertram. You were of the first bushcraft videos that got me onto all of this. Your channel and DonVonGun. You also inspire me to get into blacksmithing!
And that's how bushcraft videos should look like. No shitty talking, no adverts of clothing, ready-to-drink meals or knives ads. Just a man enjoying his wildernes adventure. Thanks for sharing this experience with Us!
Sure I mean if you're doing like Bushcraft yet has to be more nature-wise but there's a couple guys that actually just you know hobo camp they just find a spot and go down maybe the talking but yeah real Bushcraft should not be talking to just see everything being done
I've missed your videos man... A family member saw me watching your videos once, and it was difficult explaining that it's not just a dude camping, but much, much more than that. It's appreciating life. It's admiring nature's ingenuity and artistic touch. It's living a life of freedom and oneness with our mother. It's art. And only someone that has spent some time in nature alone is able to understand it. The rest just see a dude camping.
Well said. I’m a hunter and the additional immersive element that solo hunting adds to your comments is how I’ve lived in my camping, hunting, bushcrafting life. I see it all as Spiritual and Nature…my Church. Anti-hunters too often assume that hunters only go to the woods to kill everything they see. Guys who love and respect the outdoors, in the bush experiences, are typically more measured, calmer in life in general too, in my experience. We know why we can’t get enough of it.
Death was everywhere here, but death was simple, understandable, wise in its own way, even fair: leaves and needles flew from trees and rotted in the ground, broke under a heavy bear paw and bushes dried up, the grass became the prey of a deer, and he himself - a pack of wolves. . Death was closely, inextricably intertwined with life - and therefore not terrible.
For anyone wondering. That twig that he broke off the tree is fatwood. Fatwood is wood soaked in flammable sap from pine usually. It looks more saturated and it also smells more strongly which is why he smelled it.
Surprisingly.. I knew that.. I'm glad you posted it though Geoffrey. And what I meant by surprisingly, I happened to see a vid on fatwood a week ago... Otherwise I wouldn't have known about that.
Thank you very much for your videos. On the one hand, I always take a relax by them and on the other hand, it is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. Thank you very much and greetings from the Czech Republic!
Hi, fantastic video. Your the Master of easy Bushcraft life, without using the ' latest ' Tools. Thats the real la dolce vita. Best wishes from germany
It is so good to watch such a simple approach to camping and bushcrafting with just the basics, no fancy kits and specialised bits and pieces. Only what is necessary.
A simple but very useful tip on making a jig to hold your sharping stone I still enjoy your lessons and especially your ability to deliver that lesson through filmmaking techniques and without word
Thank you, once again for sharing your journey with us. Everytime I watch one of your videos I find inspiration and now my kids are at me to home school them while we go on extended camping trips.

Thank you for posting videos again. You are hands-down the most talented videographer and Bushcrafter on RUclips. I have watched all your videos several times. Longer ones are the best.
Hello, your videos before Corona were much more beautiful. I still use them as soul therapy, man. a land a life No stress . without a car without war ...
I wish we could just leave everything and go...blue sky soft earth cool wind and wonderful nature...the world is so beautiful, as ugly as it is beautiful, as beautiful as it is ugly...
The only thing ugly about our world is humanity. We are horrible, greedy beings by nature. We are hypocrites who are too busy attaining wealth while we poison our air water and food supplies. there are way too many of us who are too stupid to get out of our own way and we have no plans to save the Earth for continued habitation. Therefore, we will cease.
I really enjoy these videos. Particularly since Bertram isn’t doing any advertising (“gear reviews”) or cooking a lasagna, apple pie or some other ridiculous over the top meal.
I also watch Bushcrafters, who make luxurious meals. Their feasts entertain me. But they can not compete with the relaxsation and just wholesome feelings this gives me.
Nagualero is another good channel for quiet camping/bushcraft videos. And he makes simple "feasts" with just a nice steak, or even a small bread roll he cooked over the fire and such.
@@disgruntledgames thanks mate! Just checked out his channel. Really nice and relaxing videos! Immediately subscribed. Still Bertrams style is just the best!
You're absolutely right. The guy makes his own tools, wears thrift store sweaters, and lives off fried beef and potatoes for 3 days. Best bushcraft material on youtube, if you ask me.
Rune👍👍 I can't get used to the short hair, no worries all the rest seems normal, the usual excellent wilderness skills and bushcrafting as expected. Nice stove, especially with the sizzling meat and veggies on top. The situation with ticks still bothers me, another RUclips bushcrafter got bit two years ago and still has some problems, can't be too careful. Bug bats are fine, blood bats not so much, glad yours liked bugs. Great video and to see you in the wild again. Well filmed too, thanks for sharing. Hope to see you again soon. Enjoy!
You have a way of capturing nature that no one else has. Thank you for continuing to make these beautiful films Bertram. All the best to you and your family
I like the way he soaked the ground underneath his stove. I bushcraft a lot myself and 3 years ago when I returned to an old location I saw my old fire had burned a large hole about 6 feet long and over a foot deep from burning tree roots underground, even though I HAD put the surface fire out. Ever since that day I have always soaked the ground where I am going to make a fire if it isn't already wet. That was a very good and important lesson.
hair cut, I am not sure how I feel about it, are we even sure this is him, he could have been kidnaped and this man took over his channel? no, this could not be him, his Ax work is not the same sending a rescue team to find you and and set you free. All kidding aside, nice to see you making videos again
Glad so many city people enjoy watching a guy cut grass, make a fire, eat food and sleep in a tent. People who live in nature (admittedly a small number) do this everyday. Adios
You look well feeded now, like you married or got a girlfriend :D Same happend to me, i got married and got +13kg because my wife cooked really good :D

I'm always very envious of wildcampers and bushcrafters in the northern hemisphere, as you have this amazing soft ground in so many places to lay down on... Here in Australia, across South America and in most of the African continent, camping and overnight bushcrafting is made difficult by the sheer nature of the ground and the insects and reptiles that inhabit our lands.
