  • A family's household from Maramureș, Romania, has ingenious water-powered installations still standing. The carding machine, the whirlpool, and the fulling mill use wood and river water for processing wool into felt, being employed by the locals to comb, wash, and harden the woolen fabric. #sheepfarming #wool (Read the article on our Blog: peasantartcraft.com/tradition... )
The lady of the house, Haiducean Juja, had guided us through the production of felt and fulled wool.
The village tailor, Marinca Vasile had introduced us to the unique woolen clothes specific to Maramureș.

That was amazing. Nice work. Makes you wonder how people would full cloth now. It’s quite a laborious process.

Absolutely amazing handcrafted work. I wish there were a means to buy this type of product vs what’s out there now. Handmade durable, designed for years… keep it up and thank you for sharing this. 👌

This process is similar to Hutsul wool from Ukraine. A handmade item is put into river water for felting. Hope these traditions last, no chemicals in clothes or kitchenware or skincare or food, hopefully
