Tata Tiago has four Star rating but NCAP result says its body shell unstable in their report itself..!
But nobody reads NCAP report and seeing 4 star assume that its body is stable after crash..!
So logically 3 Star unstable and 4 star unstable is same..With some addition safety features

Exceptional take. I myself being a CAE Crash Analysis Engineer agree to every single thing discussed in this podcast. I can easily see the depth of knowledge and research that has went into making this.
I've been screaming on top of my lungs within my friends and family circle on how "Crash Safety" is an extremely specific lab test and and it cannot be taken on face value on real world conditions and have went into many chat group wars and these bullys are predominatly Tata owners.
They think they have bought a Panther and no impact can affect them and they can drive at 150kmph safely. This false sense of safety is even more dangerous than no safety at all.
Point of Impact during a crash event being 10mm to the left/right, top/bottom (from standard) or 5 kmph above tested speeds and the rating is totally invalid.
The car 'might' be safe but its not tested for that scenario, so nobody knows basically. Impact Barriers are another box of worms which haven't been opened yet. Results can vary for different type of barriers. But in real world the barrier equivalent we have from a humble 2 wheeler to an 18 wheeler (imagine the mammoth load transfer to chassis) and effectively infinite things which can hit your car in any speed, any angle or in any height and obviously they all cannot be tested. Crash tests are an extremely non-linear process and it just cannot be simply defined with a star rating. To sum up just buy a car which you like in your budget and be done with it. If at all your primary concern is safety i would suggest to buy a car with good brakes and be a responsible driver. Still if you are paranoid just take a bus or train man

1.Absolutely nailed the true background of the safety rating.
    2. Nothing seems to be sensored behind the scenes, true content .
    3. Some highlights
    A. Tata safari / harrier topic
    B. Hyundai, Kia , maruti
    C. Toyota fortunater vs Fiesta experience
    D. Land rover testing topic etc ...
    4. Finally Motowagon "All about cars" training center. Educating peoples.
5." Drive responsibly " slogan perfectly fits .
    GREAT JOB 👍 🎉

Romba correct ah soniga sir. I had mindset of Maruti is very bad in build quality & Tata is the best. That's why,one of reason we brought Tata altroz. I'm very disappointed with the car, and with Tata dealership and after sale service. Engine noise is very noticeable. We didn't even thinking of buying an Maruti car. Bcz our mindset was tunned Maruti is good at only milage. Thanks for this useful content. My own experience says, never buy a Tata car ever.

Finally, someone gives a clear explanation about NCAP ratings. Nowadays, some of them are driving wreklessly by assuming themselves they are in very good safety rated cars. So, Drive Responsibly (each car is engineered and built for its own purpose).

Need not worry about the language or slang. You are not a language teacher. The content is more important in this channel. Kumari Tamil slang is fine. This is a very good video. Many other auto channels have criticised Global NCAP long back itself. What you said about harrier is exactly true. TATA got advantage from this. My neighbour bought a harrier one year ago and told me he choose it due to 5 star rating. I was aware of these ratings... I bought Compass then...

My experience with Kia Carens on the way to Ooty..
When I was traveling in the up hill, a car which was coming down lost the control and hit directly on the vehicle, which was traveling before my vehicle at a speed of more than 70 kms.. கண் இமைக்கும் நேரத்தில்.. எனக்கு முன் சென்ற வண்டி, Jumped and hit on my Front and demaged Radiator, Front Bar and sensor wire..( I was maintaining a distance on more than 5 feet ) we inside the car really felt nothing, ( Absolutely No Impact) ..
Moment we run to the other vehicles to save the people.. only after few minutes we realised our damage..
The day I realised, Kia Carens is really a very good car, provided No impact on the Passengers..

This channel is a class apart really❤. You people provide really rich content. More than that, you need some courage to bring out these kinds of contents in spite of knowing you might be getting bashing for bringing this up. You are really bringing up some really important contents and attempting to instill some real sense in people. I never regret spending an hour on this podcast. It's truly valuable.
And Asir Anna, don't get bogged down by some scumbags criticizing your accents and stuff. Your accent is great, the choice of English words is great. Keep doing what you're doing. You're in some way influencing society and the road users in general not just car users.
"Seatbelts use pannunga, road rage la indulge aagathinga. Yaarachu vantha kooda neenga cool aa poidunga" has had a lasting impression in me.
Yes you're on the right track of achieving your product vision. In my 2 years of watching your videos, you have never deviated from it. Keep rocking❤

Great job Asir Sir & Motowagon team!!
Exactly the same content which i wanted to ask you before..
Fortunately, you made a podcast on the same topic..
Thanx a lot to you & your team for making this wonderful video..
Being a Maruti Suzuki's Grand Vitara owner, i also had lot of doubts & came across lot of negative feedbacks about maruti suzuki's NCAP rating..
Now, you clearly clarified how the NCAP system works & the facts behind the rating.
As you well said (me too have the same opinion) that safety starts from our responsible driving. Then only our car's safety rating also will support us, otherwise there is no use of it..
Very deep research on NCAP rating. It clearly shows that how much efforts & time you are spending before making any videos..
Hats off to you & your team for the great work!!
And you wanted to mention how much impact you have created on responsible driving..
    Definitely a very big impact!!
Because, earlier am the only guy wearing seat belt while driving & haven't take much efforts to make the others to follow the same.
But, nowadays while am wearing seat belt before started driving, i suddenly remember your words in every video that "kooda irukuravangalayum seat belt poda encourage pannuga". So, slowly i started insisting my dad also to wear seat belt. Initially he ignored. But, finally the mission accomplished.
Now, slowly am turning my attention towards the rear seat passengers also to wear seat belts. Hopefully that too will be achieved soon..
My only time pass during my leisure time is scrolling videos in all social medias..
However, till now i haven't write any reviews for any of the videos..
But, finally you only made me to write reviews and am very happy to write my very first review for this excellent content video.
Keep up the good work and maintain your honesty in all upcoming videos too as you are doing now. Because, we all simply believing your words..
Best wishes from one of your "NERMAIYANA MOTO FAM"!!

    3. Global Ncap

Your content & most of the points are good. But, there is a point to consider, manufacturers can voluntarily send their products for crash test rating which Tata & Mahindra are doing. In this point also, Tata has not sent their Harrier & Safari for testing. The cost of testing is either borne by Manufacturers or GNCAP sponsor. It is easier to purchase a lower cost car of 5L and test to bring awareness to masses than to use a 20L car. The point is awareness. Why is the question not asked to Maruti to voluntarily send their car to test like Tata ? Why is Maruti or Hyundai not taking such actions. They have enough money to sponsor but if they are not confident of their product, they are not volunteering. Kia Seltos abroad scored better rating than Made in India model. Why this question is not asked to manufacturer on making low quality products for us ? Manufacturer if confident of their product, they can file legal case, but they are not doing means they know their product is poor. You are targeting a someone who is trying to bring change to our market. If not for them, maruti & Hyundai kia will continue killing us with low quality product. Example if Tata is sending Punch, why Maruti has not sent Fronx ? Please ask Maruti why they don't have money to send it being 50% market share.
Also, another point these lab tests are taken as a benchmark and is same for all. A car at 64kmph scoring 5 star may drop to 2star at 120kmph, then what about a car scoring 0 star at 64kmph, what happens if you drive this at 120. I owned Maruti car, problem is these cars are lightweight and peppy to drive & allow people to go fast but unsafe. But, Tata Punch i took test drive feels safe but not as peppy like a maruti. I have bad experiences with crash in Maruti but Mahindra has kept me safe inside the car in real life road case.
Emphasis should be on manufacturer to mandatory test their products before launch. Without testing car launch should not be approved by govt. Why this is not being told. Also, only base variants must be tested as that is min. safety guarantee for end consumer, else manufacturer will sell base variant without any safety features using higher rating of top variant.

    Great podcast Team 👏 ❤
One more point with crash test - when on highway, if we crash in a truck or SUV, we will hit with braking (in most cases) and because of it, there will be nosedive.. so the frontal crash, even if it is same scenario as lab conditions, braking nosedive will cause it to go under big vehicles.. Not sure why this is not considered..
Ideally, Frontal crash test should be with braking and nosedive..
Just my opinion.. correct me if wrong..

Firstly, the safety norms should begin from structural integrity and the maximum rating for a car safety should be given to this aspect. Secondly, we see today that when a new model is introduced, the manufacturer doesn't anounce their newly introduced model's safety rating. Instead, they simply say, "the model is yet to be tested for safety rating"! Such a casual approach by the manufacturers shows their indifference to the passengers' safety. So, the Central Govt should make it a mandate and also insist that all the car manufacturers should first get their safety rating approval & star rating for every new model introduced in the market. If a new model is not subjected to safety rating test by the manufacturer, the govt should apply a ban on the release of such a model. Then only the car manufacturers will be forced to have their commitment to declaring their safety rating for each of their new models before marketing it.

    Hi Bro,
My deep respect for bringing this topic in Tamil, but somehow I felt you must have done more research on how NCAP works and how the rating is done before making this video. Here, I am not in favor of GNCAP nor any particular automobile brand; I am just sharing my thoughts.
    1) You mentioned Brezza and the urban cruiser's child safety rating (2* vs 3*)
If you have checked the fact sheet of Brezza properly, it clearly says FWF - Forward Way Facing, whereas Urban had RWF - Rear Way Facing. RWF is safer than FWF. In the US only RWF is allowed. In other words "Safer" so More start than Brezza which did not had mount to fix child seat
    2) You must know how NCAP works before making wider comments on it. Basically, there are two ways NCAP can get a car.
They pick a CAR which is popular in a particular market and test it. (Non-sponsored)
Manufacturers sponsor their cars voluntarily (TATA / MAHINDRA)
This is the reason why some of the TATA higher segment models are not tested yet (Harrier & Safari). Tata refusing to send them as you said due to FIAT engine they are not confident
    3) You spoke about Polo and Duster tested without airbag
To answer that again you must know how NCAP works, basically they pick only the base model if the base model does not have airbag no question ZERO star, this method is great so that safety becomes standard across all variant Manufacture will not skip the safety features for base variant
If it is a sponsored vehicle like Tata, Mahindra & latest VW cars they can send higher variant provided those Mandate safety features are available right from base variant. If you remember Tata nexon scored 4 star when tested for the first time, then they added 4 channel ABS and seat belt reminder right from base variant in order to get 5 star
Also in your video there were talks on why Japanese and Korean Manufacture are targeted
To answer that they deserve it, below is my point of view.
    1) They have a market share of close to 70% in india (Suziki 50 + Hyn+KIA 20%) which means their cars is more on the road.
    2) Do you know these two morons dont sell same cars in INDIA & EUROPE, Some of the structure strengths are altered for the India varient (Like SCROSS missing rear crash guard for the Indian model), Hyundai is not using Ultra High Strength steel for the critical body structure.
What boils my blood is They use our resources to manufacture cars in INDIA export them globally, yet they refuse to give safer car for US, Are our lives so cheap when compared to western people?
    3) When Tata Nisan Mahindra, after receiving ZERO star when first tested they addressed this gap even though their market share was less than 5% at that time, in other words not making money. Whereas these two morons, which sell 60000+ models every month still refusing to give safe cars for India.
Bro, when you pick a topic like this, please do a bit more research so many are watching your Videos You become responsible if they make any decisions after watching your video.

You are 100% right on the perception created among the people.... I am one such example... People while doing test drive should try and compare all brands first hand on various things to understand how different or same the vehicles are.... I personally feel we should not create a shortlist of vehicles before doing a test drive. Perform a test drive and then probably create a shortlist... It is always better to go to the market with a neutral head and then come to conclusions ourselves... Someone's dislike maybe other person's like and we have a wide range of options.... Once we list few then we should try and understand the pros and cons of the vehicles through maybe services you provide to help people with decisions... Because you guys will have a lot of practical use case knowledge which we might not have at that moment...

GNCAP is a weak organisation in terms of its mission of safer car for India. Car organisations can chose as per advantage and disadvantage. Maruti knows its weakness and Tata, Mahindra and VW know their strength. So each one playing with their strengths and GNCAP doesnt help d end customers here

I got your thought but one question you said we can't compare wagonr or Swift with 30L car agreed but both Tiago and WagonR/Swift are almost same price when Tiago is coming with good build quality then why Wagonr can't? This answers the rating

Global ncap rating is somewhat confusing.
They do crash test with top variants of Tata cars (especially front collision) and base variants of other cars. In some cars they keep both child dummies facing backwards. In some they keep one child dummy facing front and one backwards.
So , how is this done or decided ?Does the company sends cars to gncap or they buy cars??
While it’s consistent with Latin or euro ncap , gncap has been setting some weird examples
