      In the last moments with Uryu, Haschwalth tells him "don't think I feel bad being betrayed by his majesty". He had already accepted his destiny from the beginning. Since he was the other half of Ywacht. His dilemma was whether he had chosen the right path seeing that Uryu didn't mind sacrificing himself for his friends, even knowing the power of the antagonist. I like how Jugram gave up a genuine bond with Bazz, to obtain a seemingly more beneficial bond with Yhwach. Only for him to realize that he had abandoned his only true friend, to serve a man who cared nothing about him. I think he saw his own death with the Almighty, but felt that he deserve such a fate. His story is quite sad, but he might have found some peace in helping Uryu in his final moments.

      Actually its not only Hash's fault but also Buzz B. When Yhwach chose Hash instead of Buzz, Buzz was filled with envy and jealousy. Hash saw the face that couldn't accept hash being stronger and more useful to Yhwach. So Buzz is at fault also for abandoning Hash due to his envy and looking down on his friends. The way I can understand "The Balance" is like an equation. If his opponent gains 1 fortune (damages him, evades attack, grows stronger, etc.) the Balance removes it, and turns it into a misfortune. So if they both start at 0, once the opponent gets a fortunate event, the balance is activated, and it goes from 0 to 1 to -1. And possibly, if Haschwalth is injured, he would also move that misfortune onto his opponent too, making them rest at -2.

    • @Synkronist
      @Synkronist Год назад +31

      He says that "All fortune is met with an equivalent amount of misfortune".
      In other words, if you have 1 fortune point, it would be met with -1 fortune points and reduced to 0.
      The shield would then reflect his own losses on to you, causing you to have -1 in total.
      Cang Du is a great example...
      He was able to block haschwalth's strike, so The Balance took his durability (fortune) and met it with an equivalent amount of "negative durability" (misfortune).
      This resulted in his total durability being 0.
      Thus, Jugram sliced right through his iron skin and split him in half.

    • @apotheosis1660

    The balance was actually first shown against ichigo when ichigo got lucky by accidentally activating blut vene and survived yhwach's attack. So Jugram rained misfortune on Ichigo by effortlessly breaking tensa zangetsu. Then he also almost used it against Nanao and Shunsui who got lucky twice with a barrier to block his attacks but was called back by Yhwach to punish Cang Du and Bg9. He also used it against Buzz who survived Aushwallen and his fortune was balanced by misfortune from Jugram to overpower and kill him.

    I do believe that there was another instance of The Balance being used. I believe that Jugram used The Balance to break Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu, and did not break it only by sheer strength or by having a better weapon. Up until that point, Ichigo had been very fortunate, like by escaping Quilge's The Jail by awakening his quincy powers, and surviving a direct blow to the neck by Yhwach via unknowingly activating Blut Vene, and afterwards managing to injure Yhwach himself. Perhaps even the fact that Yhwach was out of time outside the Schatten Bereich could be counted as fortune for Ichigo. When Ichigo went in to attack Yhwach and Jugram as they were going away, I believe then Jugram used The Balance to convert Ichigo's fortune into misfortune, which resulted in his bankai being broken. I think it's a very satisfying theory, personally.

If Haschwalth were to be killed in one hit then surely his ability would cease to function? Unlike Gerard who is virtually immortal and becomes stronger everytime is dealt damage. Gerard relies on the concept of Miracle aka good fortune. It is a miracle that he can come back, it is also a miracle that he survived the encounter against alot of captains. Awesome video! I'm glad that I'm not only one who speculated that the true power of the Balance is to manipulate cause and effect. The one disagreement I have is that Haschwalth never said that his schrift is limited to redirecting misfortunes that happened only to himself. As he explained to Uryu, his power is to allocate misfortunes that occur in his domain to the fortunate. In other words, even misfortunes that occurred to allies can be redirected to the fortunate. Right when he was conversing with Kyoraku, he had analyzed the battles in the Seirietiei and concluded they were balanced. It is implied that his Balance has a huge area of effect and can redirect misfortune from anywhere. I imagine for this to be effective, Haschwalth's spiritual sensing has to be off the charts, and he may have a bit of clairvoyance on his own even without the Almighty.
    And yeah, I'm hoping the anime will expand on this amazing schrift. I'm guessing the reason why there are only two instances of him using his schrift is because he's immensely powerful in terms of raw power too. He broke Tensa Zangetsu and decimated Bazz-b with his skill as a swordsman. Even with Cang Du, it's likely he could have dealt with him without using his schrift, but Kubo used that moment to give a hint at what his schrift is all about.

      E.g. There is one panel in the Gerald fight where Kenpachi cleaves Gerald in two, but Gerald'd body and blood are drawn back together around a quincy cross inside him.
      If Kubo had better health, he could have explored the significance of thst cross in placing a limit on Gerald (or the cross simply being Gerald's only weakpoint which has to be destroyed, or something like that). As written, I actually got bored towards the end of the fight because it was going nowhere.
      As for Haschwald and Balance, it felt to me that something was deemed good fortune just because Haschwald said so (e.g. cutting through the dude using Iron Skin).

The reason Jugram is so powerful is his shield, he needed to use it, in order to counter Antithesis and not take that much damage himself, which proves he isn't all that physically tough. I'm thinking someone like Ichigo in Bankai or Soifon going all out in speed to get in and out of his area of effect with it. Or is this a situation like with Uryu's bow where he can just form another one?
    This is all assuming that there's a minor delay in The Balance taking effect and suddenly nerfing that same speed. Only ways I can think of to beat this guy would be incredibly complicated and have numerous flaws for The Balance to exploit.

    In a vs we often throw mentality out of the picture. However, fights are won and lost in your mind in the world of bleach. Determination can best skill. The best skills are a labor of determination. As poetic as: To be or not to be. That is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them. On your vs can you throw in the added match within the match? You should describe why they are fighting, motivation to win can help. Destroying an opponent before they can power up, for instance. Or making the fatal mistake of feeding the opponents energy at the expense of your energy. Based on numbers alone. Balance may destroy every fiber of someone’s being interrupting the process of gaining more strength. Balance gives back the energy, plus some. What needs to be determined: How much can each person withstand, before the process is broken?

    I think the Balance could easily be countered in probably one of 2 ways that we'll call the direct route and indirect route. The direct route has to do with Hash's shield itself. That's the weakness. While it is able to reflect damage/misfortune, it also only reflects damage that HASH PERSONALLY SUFFFERS directly ie bodily harm or being unable to do something himself directly. However if a character, ie Kenpachi shikai, cuts/destroys just the shield directly WHILE he purposefully keeps taking damage (like he did in his Tousen bankai battle), he both can negate the fortune part of Balance (because he's not blocking incoming damage from Hash), while also attacking the shield (not Hash himself). Once the shield is negated, the Balance has nothing to reflect with, like a broken mirror. The indirect route is simply capitalizing on the other weakness that Hash himself has which is he can only misdirect fortune/misfortune "in his purview/area/vicinity". If a character "infects" Hash with an illusion, like Aizen's shikai, or a delayed "poison" such as Gin's Bankai or Mayuri's poison/paralysis (but they never physically injured Hash, just apply the status effect) and then that same character gets out of "range" of Hash's area/line of sight and is able to have the damage trigger after the fact to Hash, then there is noone/nothing nearby to reflect the Balance onto, thus Hash will have to take that damage himself. His weakness essentially is to be able to "fatally damage" when him when you're not around/after disengagement. It can't be in real time, or in a current battle with him.

Now, if you argue that jugram use his superior reatsu to cut cangdu that is already debunked cuz in the manga jugram clearly stated that "I see... How wonderful... Its your second good fortune... Can you see it the tilted scales?" - a clear evidence that jugram use his schrift "B" the balance to cut through cangdu body.
      If jugram B didn't remove the ability of cangdu schrift, then he shouldn't be cut by jugram sword.
      Therefore, same fate to what happened to Lille's intangibility.

  • @smudger0535
    @smudger0535 Год назад

    So how it works is it just puts the misfortune from jugram to the enemy then double it. It’s still a balance because the balance was already out of place because of the enemy therefore correcting it and transferring it back so it is still a balance. At 7:13 he stated there’s a common denominator and that the balance doesn’t really balance when it actually does the balance goes out of place due to the enemy therefore the balance needs to rectify the problem so it takes away there fortune and let’s jugrsm have some it’s a bit like karma ( reap what you sow ).Yhwach would have a little problem with that considering haschwalth doesn’t have to attack to transfer to Yhwach so if he get hurt by Yhwach, there is no timeline in where Yhwach can avoid it because it just passively goes to him and the almighty only can alter
    Physical attacks from different timelines. The statement of when jugram said antithesis can rival the almighty that’s because it’s a passive ability and so is the balance although Yhwach can just use alschwallen on him.

    Honestly I always felt his power has a major problem in that it doesn't really stop someone from just stabbing him in the face
    so for all his overpoweredness the counter to his ability is literally just aim for the head

      Jugram said in the manga that all misfortune caused to his body will be transferred to his shield.

    • @yami122
      @yami122 Месяц назад

      @@life-sf1oz Then you simply use the power the antithesis To unsummoned his shield Or break it
      The actual power of the antithesis like I said was not used In the fight properly at that point the story was being rushed so it never actually got to be explored in the story what it does And its implications
      jugrams got a shield that makes him invincible break a rock then transfer the brake to the shield in the shield will shatter regardless of its power
      To use the antithesis properly do what would like to happen to something but do it to something else and then transfer that to what you really want to have happen to it
      invincible things can be broken because you can transfer a rock's break to that actual target and no it doesn't matter if the shield is harder to break than a rock

    What happens if a character severely wounds H because of pure skill and not “luck”? Would his Schrift not work?

    • @MJ-sg5nn
      @MJ-sg5nn Год назад

      Cang Du blocking his sword could be interpret as pure skill since Cang was capable of reacting and he was using his schrift that inherently blocks sword attacks anyway. The Balance still canceled it. Like Dbzimran, I believe Haschwalth manipulates cause and effect, and it ultimately falls onto him to determine what is luck and misfortune, which is the scary aspect of his schrift and how it can trump the Miracle, which is probability manipulation and Gerard power stems from not just from himself but the people he fights.

    Another chance anyone who has the balance will always have the upper hand and the upper advantage in battle while the enemy will always have the disadvantage, and it works in a similar way to Shunsui Shikai ability..

      He didn't have the balance yet, Jugram is a rare "giver" type Quincy like juah although... the situation with juah is a bit different since he's the soul king's son.
