@earthtorosita This is a snippet from Final Fantasy VIII. It is my favorite scene from the entire ending of FFVIII and so I wanted to have it be a part of my channel. I grew up really loving Final Fantasy VIII, I even have a tattoo reference for it and I definitely plan to get more tattoos in reference to this video game.
I always loved Raine and Laguna's love story. As far as I'm aware, their story was subtle and simple. They fell in love without very much effort at all, it came naturally. She took care of him through his traumas and struggles, which made Laguna fall for her and she, him. And then they got engaged and this is how. She birthed his child (Squall) and died shortly after.
Laguna is such a tragic character.
He fell in love with Julia but he could never see her again due to getting new orders, getting injured, and recovering somewhere else far away from deiling city.
And when he fell in love with Raine he lost her when she gave birth to Squall.
And Julia who he never saw again died shortly after that .
This man needs a hug.
I still can’t believe He is Squall’s father, they don’t look related and ironically Laguna the most chill relax positive gentleman cool dude while Squall the edgelord lone wolf introvert serious strong person

Laguna is such a gentle soul. The kind of person everybody wants around. And extremely handsome. So sad he hadnt his happy ending. He was who deserved the most

Oh my god you must play this one!! Its one of the most underrated storylines. And no ive been too busy these days, i dont have time for anything in the gaming world anymore :(
Why didnt laguna go back tho? He could have gone back then go help esther rebuild. That kinda pissed me off
I believe that was explained by the creators in a later commentary or something.
Communications seem to be extremely bad in their world! The people of Esthar insisted he stayed to help in the aftermath of capturing Adel and he's the sort of guy who has a hard time saying No when someone asks for his help. He sent Ellone back, but by then Raine had already died. Somehow he got news of that and that Ellone was going to be safe with Edea, but for some strange (and very convenient) reason, none of them realizes Squall is his son until years later when Ellone starts playing with time. By then nothing and no one gets into Esthar.

When I played this as a kid, it was the first time I ever experienced a good character NOT getting that “happy ending” where they have their lover and all their friends.
