Movie was fun to watch -- really well choregraphed fights, plentiful of MK game references and while the story could've been perfected more, it still laid the foundation for future sequel(s)! 🔥🔥

for me it was excellent..
Honestly the Leg sweep joke made this movie the BEST video game movie adaption ever.
Especially when Kano did the video game jump 🤣

the real joke behind that is ...... in MK1 arcade.. that was actually the easiest way to beat kano xD once you hit the legsweep on him once he would never block it again lmao ..... so its a Joke inside a joke ..... they executed it to perfection

I actually caught all of these references. We saw it opening night and I am a die hard MK fan, playing since the original release and playing all of the mini games and story lines. I feel proud 👏

Who noticed that Kabal was still wearing his old NYPD badge? Bet we see Stryker in the next movie. Probably as a throw away fatality early on.

I rewatched it again and its even better than the first time. Im gonna watch it a few more times, I really enjoyed it.
Kano gets funnier and funnier. I've seen it way too many times already. It streamed online a week early so I watched it 3 times before it came out and the 3 times after.
Definitely better the second time

Funny thing is that in the original timeline, Jax didn't even lose his arms. He just wore cybernetic strength enchancers. They explain this in that crappy ass Mortal Kombat Special Forces game.

Small detail to me at least. The middle part of Sub-Zero's mask already looked like his Noob Saibot mask in MK11 to me it had the same look. I thought it was pretty cool because I SERIOUSLY love the original costume design in MK 11

Not really understanding the question but if you mean what happened to the baby that raiden took i think he was monitoring each generation to see if they were the right ones to fight in mortal kombat and considering they barely had enough time to train Cole it was go time either way

They will. This was just an introduction & setup to the second which will be the actual the movie and start to the Mk franchise
It could really. It felt like the studio got cold feet and pulled budget halfway. With the great reception I don’t see why they can’t finally throw the needed money at the sequel project
Didn't know Midway was based out of Chicago. Since they owned Rampage it makes even more sense that the final act in the movie was in Chicago

Honestly the film was missing random fighting guys like in the orginal. There were only main characters all through the film 📽️.. made it seem a little rushed . Hope the next film has extra random fighters to give the movie volume

I noticed that the old costume for scorpion is actually under his armor and I actually found that is regular speed and yeah his face kind of almost burned of but I mean the skull so yeah that I found only two things lol

Every Mortal Kombat fan or anyone who knows a bit about it is probably in the process of forgetting about that travesty of a movie. Just let Netherealm make the script and story and let it be full CGI.

I loved it. Only 2 things I think they messed up was A) killing off Goro. Goro is the 9 time champ! you dont kill off the 9 time champ to the new guy... B) Milleena needs more screen time/development. Besides that Sub Zero and Scorpion were done perfectly and being the fan favorites those two will carry the movies till these guys get their footing and figure out where they wanna go with these movies.

I hope they have Kintaro in the next film, and actually do him some justice. Goro and Reiko didn't have as much depth and got killed off too quickly.

I like the movie. I'm glad they didn't simply remake the same movie from 1995
From the way the movie ended it's pretty easy to see that the next Mortal Kombat movie will align with the original. Basically Sub-Zero and Scorpion will probably be under Shang-tsung control and Goro will definitely come back along with Molina and Kano. Willing to bet that Sub-Zero will not turn into Noob Saibot until the ending of the second movie or on the third movie.
MK legends Shang Tsung explained Mortal Kombat better than this Movie did

The writing was mediocre, but ultimately the editing really hurt the movie along with the rushed story beats. 1/2 out of 5. Victory but not flawless. Looking forward to part two.

On paper, The Miz seems an okay option, he could pull off the Johnny Cage attitude and he has the charisma/presence, but where's the flexibility?? 😐 Let's be honest: he would need a stunt double for all the fight scenes and his acting is not really polished 😬😬
