Simple Memory Wire Earrings at The Bead Gallery, Honolulu

  • These memory wire earrings are so simple! Just string on beads and turn two loops (one on each end of the wire) and you're done. These earrings are inexpensive to make and keep their shape. This is the perfect technique for when you want sturdy beaded hoops.

    Thank you !! I'm self taught and couldn't figure out why my earrings weren't hanging properly... Turning the circle on the opposite direction on the other end did it!!
    Now my fingers won't keep hurting trying to get this right! 🙏

    Glass, pearls will fit into Memory Wire, earring styles. I have made some Memory Wire earrings, the style you feature in this video, I tried...and glass pearls, do have big enough holes.

    As a rookie, Bought memory wire by mistake so did not know what to do with it. The second thing done was to ruin my fine wire clippers. Third action is the charm, your video. It will save everything because purchased ear wires and crystals last week!

      Lenita Nelson You need memory wire cutters. I did this too LOL, memory wire is really tough and will dull regular cutters

    QUESTION! What size bicones did you use in this video (and the ones I see at the end with the gold heart in the middle)? Were they 4mm, or were they 5mm? Thanks--beautiful!

      We usually use 4mm bicones for most of our projects and then size down to taper to a 3mm and go larger with a 5 and 6mm :). aloha! jamie

    Thank u for this cuz I ordered some memory wire to make bangle style bracelets with, but when I saw it was so small n looked like it'd only fit an infant's wrist I was tempted to send it back to Amazon but now ik there are some things I can use it for, so thank u very much!

    Perfect! I saw someone do earrings like this and they did their loops differently and then wire wrapped it. I couldn't get the hang of that. This is perfect! New sub from me ❤️

    What is your preferred medium to string a necklace. I bought some beads to make a necklace to match a blouse I purchased. I've never done a necklace, and there are so many types of wire and filaments.

    What can you do to keep the beads from sliding thank you

      Hi! If you mean while you are stringing the beads on, then a Bead stopper would work great! If you mean while they are one the earring, you could fill the whole memory wire. Once you have the earring on, it should be good!

    I love this! I am so happy that I found your RUclips channel. I am just beginning and really wanted to create some earrings and ankle bracelets.       Hi Cindy! A good size for the memory wire is 24 or 22 gauge, so that you can fit 3mm, 4mm and up for the bicones!! We generally use the 4, 5 and 6mm bicones as seen in this video!! Lmk if you need supplies, we have them on our site! aloha! jamie

      Hi! The stainless steel memory wire is about 23 gauge, so you can get most glass beads and some pearls and gems onto it! We have it in silver, gold and rose gold plated - email us if you need assistance! request@thebeadgallery.com

      Memory wire comes in different diameters, so you can use the bracelet size for larger earrings!

    Hi could you tell me the length of wire you used fror the Earrings please?

      It was less than a full loop of memory wire, so you can use different lengths depending on the diameter and how big you want your earring to be.. A minimum of 4" is good to work with tho!

      Aloha! The memory wire is about equivalent to a 22 gauge wire! Good luck! We also have it in gold plate, silver plate and rose gold plate now - so lovely!

    I’m have a hard time making that loop do you have stopped that can go on the end of the wire.

      hi! yes, you can use a bead stopper to pinch the end so that you beads don't fall off, OR make one loop first, then string on the beads, and then finish with the other side!! aloha! jamie

      Memory wire can be a challenge - it's a hardened steel so it fights back a bit.. Keep practicing okay!
