In the first round the Fender sounded weaker which was weird since to me it won the next two rounds hands down, it had way more projection and a nice bark to it.
I have the Paramount Parlor and it is fantastic! Probably better than my Martin OM-28 for fingerpicking, but the OM is noticeably better strummed. It’s also around 4 times the price.
In fingerstyle the Fender destroys the Martin. The Fender body is shallow, pushing a thinline, so it can't strum like the Martin. But the Martin has nothing on the high end across the board. At least the Fender shines at one thing. I think as Fenders go, the California series with the Jazzmaster headstock has a good low end and high end while also being all-solid. From what I've heard that one is better than both of these. This Martin also has a richlite fretboard, hard pass on that.
Interesting comparison. Here in the UK the Fender is even better value for money. I've just purchased a Fender Paramount PO220E All Mahogany complete with hard case for £469 with the best price on a Martin 00015ME being £1599 shopping around. At a third of the price the Fender will do everything I need of it & more.
I just bought the limited edition solid cedar top and mahogany Fender parlor paramount from Anderton's in their Black Friday Sale £349. With fitted hard case and humidifier. Can't help but think it was a bargain. Sounds really rich and warm. I'm going to describe it as golden rather than brassy. Set up was good although I lowered the action a little. Great fishman sound system too.
I loved the finish on the Fender, but I do think i liked the tone and projection of the Martin a little better. If I had the money and could change some options, I'd get the Martin, but I only want ONE guitar, and I wantvto be absolutely blown away by both its looks and sound.
Best looking and sounding acoustic imo are the mahogany Martins with no lacquer. The 000-15m and the D15m… both come in a street master version, aka a reliced version which I think are absolutely stunning but a lot of people don’t like the worn look. Have fun, hope you find the guitar of your dreams
Where they’re made is one thing that weighs most on me. No matter how good a Gretsch sounds I won’t buy it because it’s made by the China communist party. The lower end martins come from Mexico and that’s fine for me. I’m having a difficult time finding where acoustic fenders come from. Some say Japan and that’ll be fine also. But… for acoustic I want a Martin. For fender I have a Stratocaster. I wish I could buy every guitar I wanted but I already have too many wants :,(
I have a Fender Paramount dreadnought. I love it. Very easy to play and it makes my arthritis almost a non issue. It also sounds fantastic.

I agree Matt. If you have the budget go with Martin but the Fender seems like a great value!

Just a quick heads up... The 000-13e is not a laminate guitar. It has solid Siris back and sides with a solid sitka spruce top.
You are correct!

Hi, where did you get it from for £ 469? This seems like a really good price!
Just ordered my all mahogany po 220e. Hows yours?
@@Sandman3510 Quality & tone for price I think it punches well above it weight. I love mine.

@@ronnieelliot7141 I'd say that was a lot of Instrument & Kit for very little money & if it sounds & plays the way you like an absolute bargain.

I feel this so much!!! I’m in the same boat buddy

I own the PO. It's a fantastic playing guitar and I would recommend it over the Martin. I love Martin, but for the Money, the Paramount is Awesome!
I like them both, but the Martin sounds fuller and woodier and therefore better in my opinion.
When will fender produce left handed models??
what are the songs you played - if they are actual songs
How does the Fender Newporter Player compare to that Fender you played there? Been looking at Newporter Player and Newporter Classic
I vote for Fender
The paramount series are major step forward for Fender
#1 test Martin, #2 test Fender, #3 test Fender
But there seems to be variations in the mike setup between tests, so who knows?
Compare like to like. How can you compare a laminated guitar with a solid wood guitar
The Martin is all solid!
The fender Paramount is also All solid wood
Martin is Solid spruce top, laminated Rosewood back and sides.
🤔I more like Fender, but both instruments are interesting )))👍
I’m not sure but you may need to be further from the mic. Just sayin
played two of the Fenders at my local GC and they both sounded dead.
I prefer Martin!
should do same comparison now fender has aged solid will always sound better as it gets older laminate is the best it will ever sound!
Test 1.....fender, test 2.....Martin, test 3.....martin.

The dust up my rusty ass song just killed for me. I dont even want a guitar after hearing this shit.
Tell him how you really feel. 😂
I hate dust in the whind worse than any other song, except for msybe carry on my wayward son. Kansas sucked ass.
