As soon as he took off the life preserver, I knew he was dead. He was 100% going to drown, I just didn't think it would be at a musical, because of Spiderman.
“And his brother” will forever make me laugh. Fun fact the Spider-Man theater show was a real thing and like 2 people died and a bunch got injured, they never got the stunts right and the show never happened, thus the reason it’s the climax of the episode lol. Also “killed by Spider-Man” is one of Randy’s funniest lines
For thise who don't know, there was a Spiderman musical in 2011 which was notorious for dangerous stunts. There were a lot of accidents, injuries, and near death experiences. So the random Spiderman scene here was a reference to that.
Book of Mormon is freakin hilarious. They brought their love of musicals and their “I do not give a f--,” attitude and made a side-splitting and actually really sweet show. It’s great.
This is some seriously innovative advertising. They promote their at the time new broadway show at the end. Which won 9 Tonys and has grossed over $750 million (quick glance at wiki). But then again Stephen Sondheim, one of the greatest living composers said unironically that the South Park Movie was his favorite musical in years. Don't underestimate Trey's musical skills, insane and absurd as he may use his talents.
In college, way back in 1993, they made (and acted in) Cannibal the Musical, which is an amazing movie/musical given how early it was in their careers.
I actually went to see "The Book of Mormon" during my New York trip. Normally, I'm not a big musical guy, but I love everything the south park creators have made so I had to check it out. It was hilarious. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it.
Book of Mormon is straight up hilarious, you would both actually legit love it. Seeing that shit live is like watching a top tier episode of South Park but amplified by the whole crowd losing their minds. Saw it in London and I thought the woman sitting next to us was gonna explode she was laughing so hard. That South Park style of highly offensive comedy really hits different when you're seeing it in a live spectacle with a crowd. :)
"Going Native" is a Butters Episode about Hawaii. Yes. It is stupid and makes no sense. It also sheds some light on how Butters interprets the people around him at school. It also explores his social relationship with Kenny. This specific Episode is also one of the reasons why their Characters are "Shipped" by Fans in-spite of the fact that their Characters are heterosexuals.
@@mastadonman I haven’t even gotten to that step. I’m a bit upstate from the city and it’s still unaffordable, living with my dad, working full time. Brutal!

These guys are absolute legends, say it with me, LEGENDS. You guys knock it out of the park with every video! Much love, keep up the hard work my dudes!
I think we can all agree that these two and their commentary on each episode is some of the funniest Ive ever seen from a reaction channel. Keep up the good work!
I've never been a huge theater guy but I got a chance to see Les Miserables on Broadway about a decade ago and it was honestly awesome. I'd never seen a play that had that level of insane production. It was top tier and even coming from a dude that spends more time in the woods than indoors, it was a pretty cool experience. I also love how before that dude tells Randy to *really* listen to the subtext they really were enunciating the whole " *HEAD* to toe" part pretty hard 😂
"What are we doing with our arms?" AAAAAAAHHHH 🤣 I think the Spiderman bit is a joke about a Spidey based Broadway musical that was always getting performers injured, mostly due to stunt work. It became notorious, given injuries started during previews before it opened and kept going for 3 years despite how often people in the show got hurt.
There is not any [or should not be more] fecal matter in the sink than the toilet, even in a vegan household. Just clarifying for you guys, cuz ya asked lol.
The ending with Spiderman is actually a reference to the Broadway production which had numerous injuries and technical issues prior to opening, which was repeatedly delayed
This is one of my favorite episodes, the bro down and then bro out is one of my favorite moments in all of South Park. That's what bros do, THAT'S WHAT BROS FUCKING DO!!! And it's so true, guys have a beef, and then the next thing you know, they're best friends, women get mad, and then they act nice around each other, till their back is turned.
2:10 I'm the opposite. I like how visceral and real a play can feel and I like the reverb echoing through the room in plays and musicals. But on TV, I find musicals to be really annoying and distracting 90% of the time. Just not my type of thing. Can you imagine if Walter White suddenly started to break out in song and dance? 😂Like I'm good.
Wow, that must have been SOME poll - three absolute classics in my opinion to choose from! And the good news is: You can't go wrong whatever the outcome may be. ❤️
I actually recommend seeing a live musical at least once. My mom dragged me to Wicked even though I wasn't really excited at the idea. The atmosphere, lighting, and sound is completely different than just watching it on screen and I ended up appreciating the work the actors put into a live show.
So the Spiderman thing is actually a musical joke for those of you who don't know. There was in fact a musical production of "Spiderman" however not only was the musical badly written according to many people, but one night there was a major accident where the rope holding the Spiderman actor broke and almost killed the actor during a live show.
If you get a chance to see their play “Book of Mormon,” go for sure. I don’t like plays or musicals in general but that one was worth it for sure. This is when their play came out. So using this episode to promote their own musical in this way adds a huge other level of their comedic genius.
Musicals are kinda underrated, I saw Hunchback of Notre Dame at a local theater earlier this year because a guy I know was one of the stars. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I also always forget where y’all are located. I’ve seen Devin with the Ravens merch a few times and I thought y’all were Marylanders lol
Only one play in my whole life has ever been something I wanted to see. And of course, it was The Book of Mormon. HYSTERICAL play, it was like watching a live action recording session for a south park movie, fantastic. Only time I've ever been able to deal with a play. If you can find it online somewhere, I suggest you watch it. If it proves me wrong and you can't do it, then I don't know what's real anymore haha.
Not into musicals - while you're watching all the South Park shows, watch what Matt & Trey put together in the musical Book of Mormon. It's absolutely amazing.
As far as Musical Movies, my favorite is Sweeney Todd. Talk about an all-star cast. I'm sure you'll recognize the guy who played Wormtail from Harry Potter, as well as Helena Bonham Carter, (Bellatrix in HP) Alan Rickman (Snape) and Johnny Depp. The music is fire and it's produced by Tim Burton.
Randy was there and never heard it, then when the guy at the bar pointed it out, he couldnt not hear it. That was the point of it being subliminal, and once you know what to look for, youll wonder how you didnt notice before, because then its so obvious, the show has random actors just yelling it out. Even tho randy wasnt immersed and couldnt care less, he needed it pointed out to he able to see it.
