I had this in my old car and I Iliterally almost died. The cause of the leak was a deer impact (that seemed minor at the time) must have broken a gasket and CO to come into the cabin. Periodically my legs were getting numb, arms would get numb and tired and then confusion and short term memory loss would set in.
The scariest event was that I was able to park at a store to recover but then realized that I did not remember the last minute of driving. I know I was awake while driving, but short term memory loss wiped out my memory of the couple minutes before I parked at the store. I am very lucky that I did not hurt anyone else or die myself that night. If you hit a deer or even minor fended bender and think your car is ok GET IT checked out.

My wife's cousin just died because of that a few hours ago. This is extremely shocking and I just don't know why car manufacturers don't install CO sensors inside car cabins!

What you can do is simply buy a second carbon monoxide detector and put it in your car and if it detects dangerous levels it'll go off and warn everyone in the car.

I have a 2015 Ford escape I bought new and I am having the same problem every time I get in my vehicle I feel like I’m passing out it even gets worse once I stop at a stoplight or when I have to stand in line in a fast food restaurant, it is affecting me so severe I know I have a lot of recalls on my car that need to be fixed. This is scary.

I have a fundamental question to ask. Why don't car mechanics have any sense of smell!!? I know that I have had several cars that were definitely leaking fumes of some description that made me feel ill. The fumes were noticeable and you could smell them inside the vehicle yet every mechanic who has ever checked these cars said that they were unable to smell ANYTHING whatsoever whilst they were in them yet when I was in them my eyes watered and I felt dizzy and could smell strong fumes entering the cabin. How is it then that the mechanics were unable to smell ANYTHING!!

Cuz their Lungs full of fumes that's why they can't smell it.

Most likely cause their bodies are used to the smell and they can no longer detect anything.

Probably because you’re delusional, and like to make idiotic generalizations about an entire field of professionals!
“How come I an idiot that has no idea how to fix cars, am right, and the experts that do are wrong?!?”

@@juanc5149 But that question does have merit to it. The person posing the question does have a point. I have a friend that works on cars that works at an emissions shop that I brought my car to. My car was clearly leaking fumes and in fact I had to call poison control later in the day. He didn't smell anything. The guys who work at advance auto parts though did notice a sweet smell. I agree, not all mechanics don't have a sense of smell. But many of them do. They're probably so used to the smell of oils and cars that such a scent passes under their radar.
The only delusional person here is the person that made a nasty, violent, erratic response to a post he disagreed with without taking into consideration the experiences of the person posting.

Carbon Monoxide has no smell. You're feeling it, not smelling it. Many mechanics have the windows open while working on your car, and not to mention the smell of car oil, tires, and even their tire markers are strong! Theres a lot of smells to overpower a lot of smells.
