@@Musasensei1674 hydreigon is a much better wall breaker than a sweeper though due to drop it's special attack with Draco and middling speed of 98 allowing it to easily be revenge killed, as such using it early to weaken teams for faster Mon is valid.

That is the only point in the video that I actually disagree with, Hydreigon has been OU viable in gens 6 and 8 but only after they stop being the current OU generation. The only gens he really struggled is gens 5 and 7 due to being outclassed by Latios and being completely counter by Maggearna(forgot how to write her name) and the Tapus, since they with Ash Greninja basically ruled the tier.

With research it seems that a Max Special Attack Hydreigon boosted to +4 can OHKO a Max defense Old Money even wearing its assault vest (+4 252+ SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Old Money: 524-620 (103.9 - 123%) -- guaranteed OHKO ) and we know Old Money wears an Assault vest because it wears it all the time just look at the picture. Though it’ll be hard to boost to +4 anyways let’s hope Hydreigon subscribed to the Jimmothy Cool channel so it can have an easier time boosting.
Tera Poison also shields Hydreigon from Priority Ice Shard and Mach Punch from Baxacalibur and Breloom, respectively I’m really glad Hydreigon keeps getting smaller buffs each gen, but that 99 speed really hurt it imo
Imo subpar speed makes Hydreigon more interesting - it still naturally outspeeds a lot of defensive pokemon, can run scarf or dump speed to make the Substitute set more resilient
tbf gen 9 hydreigon is nerfed since it lost roost, its only better than it was last gen cuz smaller dex, people forget last gen at the start of the gen hydreigon was one of the best mons in the tier
The fact that it takes its 4x fairy weakness down to a 1/2 resistance while only having a psychic weakness thanks to levitate is big gain. No one's going to risk throwing a psychic move at it up front but can't assume it won't Tera poison to solidify its offense with solid defense. The threat is a valuable mind game tool to boot as just that threat can be stronger than outright using it forcing more mistakes on the opponent.
It’s not as good as the stealth rock set but I’m really fond of crit hydreigon. With scope lens focus energy, Tera blast, Draco meteor, dark pulse and a poison Tera type it can be really threatening against slow teams that focus on boosting defences.
I like that Hydreigon is finally good. It's among my top 4 pseudo legendaries and I have always felt it got stumped. Salamence, Garchomp, Hydreigon and Tyranitar are my favorite pseudo legendaries.
Hydreigon is trully an awesome Pokemon. Its thanks to him that I finally decided to start training other Pokemon just to be able to have one, after only using my starters in Platinum, Soulsilver and Pokemon Black until postgame.
I recently used hydreigon a lot. Choice specs hydreigon slamming Draco meteor along with murkrow. 1st turn tailwind from murkrow ensures hydreigon always moves first and then murkrow uses haze every turn to remove the sp atk drops and any potential buffs from opponents. This setup allows to easily clear 2-3 of the enemy team while losing just 1 hydreigon.
Hydreigon has always been one of the best designed Pokemon in the series imo. Its so freaking cool. Definitely in my top 5 favorite mons. I just wish it was as good as some of the other pseudo-legendaries but it seems like he's finally going to be at his best this gen!
There’s also the whole thing that a huge chunk of the additions in gen 9 are slower then it so it’s low speed is less of a problem then normal and the large amount of ghost making dark in general very valuable. Even without the stealth rock buff it’s just a great meta for it

I've been using hydreigon even when it was in UU because I love the Tera steel set so much. With all the resist you gain I was able to gain back over half my hp in a battle from leftovers. Very underrated mon
Since the list of Pokemon that are returning with Home has been released and we know what can be transferred into SV, it looks like Hydreigon won't be seeing much competition. New Fighting types are coming, like Lilligant-H, Sneasler, and Zapdos-G, as well as common defensive Pokemon like Zapdos and Tornadus, who can outspeed and annoy Hydreigon. But Hydreigon might also play well with those Flying types since they can check the Fighting types that would outspeed and threaten it with CC.
Hydreigon is one of my favourite pokemon to use, sad that its always basically been outclassed by latios as a dragon special attacker and by greninja was a faster more versitile dark attacker and dark was usually covered by the knock off spam.
People would think Gholdengo's Paradox Form: Old Money wouldn't be Untired because of its monstrous Base Stat distribution, but since the only move it can learn is _Pay Day,_ it gets walled by premier Gen 9 ZU threat Gastly.
Critdreigon is the best thing to ever happen. Tera poision so you only have Psychic as a weakness and hit that sucker for super effective with dark pulse. Truly one of my favorites

this was pretty stupid but i've always been curious about the fact it learns dragon dance so i once built a whole team around a life orb hydreigon with dragon dance, outrage, crunch and tera blast poison and it's surprisingly strong. it's basically roaring moon except you trade raw stats for a great ability and a free setup turn as your opponent tries to switch into draco, then you tera for a second dragon dance and sweep

i use hydrygon a ton but not in the way the opponent expects, i use tera steel d dance after baiting a dragon or fairy move and then sweep with crunch/outrage. also have flash cannon for additional stab or pesky glimora or fairy types. nobody expects it and that is its greatest strength
