The only reason Voldemort made Draco a Death Eater was to punish Lucius for failing to get the Prophecy. He never intended Draco to succeed. . .in fact, he didn't even intend for Draco to live. the plan was for Draco to be killed in the process, a perfect punishment for his father's failure. It would have destroyed Lucius knowing his blunder had cost him his son.

Malfoy hit Harry with a curse that basically paralyzes. In the books, it's revealed that Voldemort is a sociopath who is unable to feel emotions normally because his mother used a love potion on his father for years. Yes, Harry is Quidditch captain now. Harry states in the books that he views Hermione as a sister. Draco was using the vanishing cabinet that can be used to transport things between it and its twin. It was broken in the 2nd book (this was left out of the movie), and Draco has been trying to fix it. The Weasley house being burned down wasn't in the books, it was an addition to the movies. To create a Horcrux, one must kill a person with magic to split their soul, then use a ritual (which is never revealed) to take the fragment of their soul and place it in an object; Tom Riddle from Chamber of Secrets was the fragment of Voldemort's soul that he put in the diary. The potion Dumbledore drank forces a person to relive their worst moments in life all at once. Snape called himself the Half-Blood Prince because his mother's maiden name was Prince. The movies really didn't do Ginny's character or her relationship with Harry justice (the way they get together in the books is different too). Their romance is much better in the books, and Rowling even stated that she wrote Ginny to be Harry's ideal girl.

He was secretly allowed to store the pieces of his wand in an umbrella to hide it but still have access to it. He couldn't do much magic with it though as it had been snapped, not compared to the average witch or wizard anyway. All he had was an umbrella that only kind of did some magic. - .... I didn't even notice for many watch throughs, but during the scene where they all raise their wands to honor Dumbledore's memory and send away the Dark Mark, Hagrid can't even join in that moment of tribute to Dumbledore.
And obviously it doesn't matter like that, it's not like Hagrid can't honor/give tribute to Dumbledore in plenty of other ways, and it's not like Dumbledore didn't know how Hagrid felt while he was alive; ...... but the shot of all the witches and wizards, many of whom only kind of knew Dumbledore, and Hagrid, a man who grew up with him and literally lived most of his life at the school with him, just has to stand there staring at the corpse, as he can't even raise his wand
All because of something Voldemort did for which Hagrid took the blame. After which Dumbledore trusted and cared for Hagrid, giving him a home and a second chance at [a small, modest] life. Now Dumbledore's dead. And everybody raising wands to send away the dark mark and remove that stain from over the death of Dumbledore
    ...and Hagrid just standing there
    Not moving hardly an inch
    Just staring
It hurts muh lil heart-hole so much.............

They added a lot of scenes here because certain actors had contracts saying they were to get a certain amount of screen time. Many things never happened in the book, such as Arthur Weasley not explaining what a vanishing cabinet was to Harry, we weren't supposed to find that out until the very end what Draco was up to.

I never get why people feel Harry and Ginny's relationship was forced in the films up to this point? They literally have moments showing her affection for him (and his for her) since the Chamber of Secrets. They peppered them in perfectly to let the audience know there's something more there. And most relationships I know don't take 6 years of constant interaction to develop, especially teenagers. Sometimes it takes like just one night of talking to someone to start to really like them. And how often in high school do people date, but also like someone else. That's very common. So yes, the development of a romantic relationship is more than natural.

He's been this "father/god" character for 5 movies, and all of a sudden he's killed, and we get to see that slo-mo of him falling to complete silence... Holy shit. This part is what makes this movie my favourite. None of the others evoke the same emotions.

Hi. Love your reactions so far. I know others have said this, but the relationship between Harry and Ginny (while still not perfect) makes more sense in the books. They spend more time together in the books, so it's not quite as seemingly random as the movies portray. Plus, while Harry and Hermione do have a good relationship in the books (like a brother and sister) it's definitely not a romantic one. Some of the directing/screenwriting choices make it seem so though in the films. I hope you consider reading the books when you're finished with the movies! :)

i know its been said, but ginny was a completely different character in the books. Popular, athletic, funny, vivacious, just incredibly energetic and fun and outgoing. It was developed SO much better from the end of the fifth book, when she was one of the only ones Harry was comfortable with after losing Sirius and she was there for him, through half of the six book before they got together. And harry DID struggle with her being rons sister and it was all very complicated for him. They were SO. GOOD. in the books. Hermione and harry only make sense in the movies because daniel and emma had such good chemistry, they dont make a bit of sense in the books. It just... the movies did the story dirty, girl. Theres a reason us book fans are always complaining about them.

As you know, Voldemort is the last living blood descendant of Salazar Slytherin. In his 6th year of schooling, Tom tracked down his mother's Pure Blood family. But, instead of finding a wealthy, proud home of fantastic wizards, he only found a filthy, dilapidated shack where a small family of inbreds were. _That_ was all that was left of Voldemort's family, who were called the Gaunt family at the time.
Needless to say, sixteen year old V-Diddy was not pleased.

Harry and Hermione are like brother and sister. They really don't belong together. Ginny is the perfect girl for Harry and Harry is the perfect boy for her. Ginny is someone who can handle the magnitude of dating someone as famous as Harry because she herself is a really famous girl at school. Ginny is really bold and she is never afraid to speak her mind, she always talks sense into Harry and calls him out when he's wrong. Hermione on the other hand is often afraid to do that. I think this is the big difference which was obviously explored in the books and the movies made it a total mess.
And about Ginny/Harry being weird because she's Ron's little sister, I never see anyone who finds it weird because Ginny is only one year younger and she always had feelings for Harry. It just took Harry a while to return them.

Also regarding relationships : Ron & Hermione are meant to be together, their relationship grows very steadily over the course of the seven books. However I would ship Harry with anybody other than Ginny, especially in the movies. Their relationship is sort of better in the books but I still find it quite unsatisfying. Like, in Chamber of Secrets, Ginny has a huge crush on Harry but he doesn't give a damn about her. Then they become friends and absolutely nothing is hinted at for 3 books (Ginny has several boyfriends, Harry dates Cho) until suddenly, in Half-Blood Prince, Harry wakes up and falls in love with her. Like wtf

what do people mean here by Harry and Ginny have no chemistry in the books?? like I get that we didn't see Harry being interested in her till 6th book but they always got along so well and that's what made it easier for Harry to fall for her. Ginny is my fave character so I may be a little biased about all this but she was always in the background, always waiting for Harry to look at her...starting from GoF we see that she tries to be more comfortable around him bcs getting shy and all won't get Harry to notice her...then in OoP we start to see more of her personnality, how badass and smart and funny she is. and then in HBP Harry spent the summer at the burrow so he got used to having her around and saw for himself that she was a great girl...and I think the fact that she said she never gave up on him shows her tenacity and makes me like her more bcs she's like "I'll wait until you notice me one day, I'll love you in my corner"...some might find this desperate but for me it's just how love is sometimes.

That's the one thing I dislike about Harry and Ginny. Their relationship did not get enough fleshing out. Even in the books (although Ginny is far more of a character in the books, she really got majority of her screentime cut out). Even in the books, Harry didn't have any romantic notions toward Ginny until book 6. I feel like JK Rowling really dropped the ball here. Like she just remembered Ginny is supposed to be Harry's love interest and suddenly started padding on scenes with them.
