    Why do many models for resin printers come pre-supported? Does resin slicing software make it difficult to support yourself or something?

    • @techclub8528
      @techclub8528  6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s to save time, it can take a little while to put your own supports in, plus too many can be annoying as more to remove causing more marks, too little will cause print fails, so it’s a nice bonus if it’s already supported as somebody’s already done the hard work of checking it prints okay with that level of supports

    Hello, I am new at resin printing and am a little bit scared, do you think 3d printing is worth the risk because I heard a lot and am not sure if I am safe anymore I wear mask and gloves and I try to be very careful but I have read many horror stories, is resin that big deal , do you have any health problems from resin, if a spill happens it will be a huge problem for my health?

    • @miguellopez3392
      @miguellopez3392 2 месяца назад

      If you are a patient person and know how to follow a procedure then it should be no problem handling resin, even spill aren't an issue if you are equipped, resin fumes are bad, but ipa that has uncured resin in it and is rapidly evaporating is very toxic for you and needs to be ventilated emidietly, only time I eve got a headache was from not being able to vent the fumes fast enough after force drying a cleaned print with a air gun, now I do that outside.

    There’s too much debate on IPA in ultrasonic cleaner. Did you have any problems of fire?

    • @techclub8528
      @techclub8528  2 месяца назад

      no as there is no heat, i only put the IPA in a separate container, the main liquid in there is water, the sonic waves penetrate the container with IPA then vibrates to clean the print, NO Heat used.
      Second the vibrations are not enough to heat the liquid to ignite, don@t smoke or put an ignition source next to it and i don't see any problems,
      no different from using IPA in a cleaner like Wash and cure stations.
      the vibrations can cause IPA to go airborne but not enough to saturate the air that would ignite, i live in a very humid place anyway maybe if its a super dry low humid area then this could be dangerous.
      I also use a face fit face-mask / respirator with correct organic gas/ chemicals cartridge so no chance of breathing in the fumes.

    • @techclub8528
      @techclub8528  2 месяца назад

      to be clear the IPA is in a separate container that i plop into the water in the ultra sonic, then when the print is clean i seal the top and store IPA containers in a fire proof cabinet.

    • @miguellopez3392
      @miguellopez3392 2 месяца назад

      @techclub8528 there is heat and ignition involved in ultrasonic cleaning, the cavitation of air bubbles heats up 5000C and ignites even water, bit it's a lot like lighting a match submerged in gasoline, there isn't enough oxygen or heat to keep combustion going, most ultrasonic cleaners are self heating so they can pose a danger if something is damaged or left plugged in for too long leading to the whole unit overheating and becoming a fire risk without liquid water in them.

  • @t1msguitar
    @t1msguitar 3 месяца назад

    Soooo, dumb question, I know nothing about 3d printing but was wanting to get one for DND minis and stuff. You wearing gloves and cleaning them, is this stuff hazardous or detrimental to your health? I'm not getting into it if there's chemicals and stuff. I already had cancer once, no thank you...

    • @techclub8528
      @techclub8528  3 месяца назад +1

      The Resin is toxic to get on your skin and will cause irritation, toxic to the environment too, once cured it’s okay not a problem to the environment or your skin.
      Cleaning I am using 99% IPA so there is another chemical that is potentially hazardous, flammable and most likely dangerous to health if breathed in fumes.
      I always wear a face mask with chemical cartridge and nitrile gloves, I also use the printer in the garage to avoid funes filling my house,
      Now the big debate online is if the Resin smell / fumes is dangerous, some say no I say yes and always use a respirator.
      Small scale printing using the correct PPE you should be fine, scaling up to everyday usage and long term daily exposure then you might want to think extra about ventilation systems and protective equipment.
