Anyway, having a couple of minor issues with the MT and added in a couple of bits of footage from earlier in the month.
Sorry to hear about your issues. So far I've been lucky with mine. Dunno if it's too early to tell on mine as I haven't put too many miles on it...maybe 800 or so to date. Then again I beat the crap out of it at about the 200 mile mark and been beating on it since. Also, on the tyre issue mine was fitted with BS S20's. Seem OK at the moment.

The poll on the CCT finished yesterday and it was 13 out of 30 who had the tensioner replaced. A pretty high number!!! But Yamaha had sorted them out. Im still waiting for mine to arrive, but i've done a temporary fix on it. I heard the S20's are much much better than the Dunlops that came with the bike! TBH, if they hadn't worn through I wouldn't have complained about them but now i got the PR4's i can see just how little grip i actually had! Thanks for the sub!

Those Michelin's are said to be Great, I just fitted Diablo Rossa's and got 7-8k miles out of the prior set...I was going to get the Michelin 4's also, though, I needed quickly and they were a little more $ than the Pirelli's.

I had the Pirelli Angels on the Aprilia and found them excellent but thought id try out the Michelins this time round. So far I'm really glad i did!
You should hear my 690 worrys me so much with all its knocks and rattles that are completely 'normal' Hope you get sorted under warranty for it all
Yeah im not really worried about it, as long as they recognise and sort any issues. Its when they say 'we can't hear anything wrong' i will start to worry lol

Normally she doesn't like traveling by bike because its boring! But i am glad she will actually get on the bike and seams to like the MT a lot more than War Bastard. Although it takes a while for me to be comfortable about having her on board! I feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility for her safety lol.
Sorry bout ya quibbles with the Bike mate. The Clutch is a new one on me but I did know about the Cam chain thing.
Least it's all under warranty and they can sort this shit without you having to dig into your own pocket.

Yeah cheers dude!! All under warranty so no worries there. The tyres were a surprise though!! But i am loving the Michelin PR4's i put on so much, that I'm glad i had to change them now!

Great vid a great sound from that exhaust. Might have to look at the PR4's when I next get tyres cos I'm not happy with my Bridgestone bt023's. No confidence in them whatsoever.

Got my MT-07 being delivered in 3 weeks. Hoping these problems don't transfer to the MT-09s little brother.
I wouldn't have though so, although there is a possibility the tensioner could be shared?

I've heard nothing but good things about it and the 07. I would find he pegs too high but that's true on far too many naked bikes. As bars go up, pegs need to move forward for me and down to keep from getting pushed into the tank by feet pushing back on pegs, my old ZR750 and a bit on my Hornet 900 as well.
You should have a go on one, the geometry is unlike any other bike I've owned. Probably because its more of a supermoto / enduro seating position. I have a set of lowering pegs which I've not needed to fit to this bike as the seating position is really relaxed and comfortable. I did however get a flat bench seat as the stock seat makes you slide into the tank.
Sucks with the little problems, I use bridgestone battleaxe BT023's they last me like 10k miles

That's not pussying it about either, They are sports touring tires but I can still get very low on them and feel confident

Hi bike sounds great. I will be getting mt09 this week 16 plate 12.000 miles it comes with the Same exhaust as yours but my question is did it get flashed as I here know catalyst in the Akro.. As Don't want burnt valves
Bike all ready running lean from the factory.. I hope mine as the new cam chane tension in..
Forgot to mention if mine was bought from yamaha with Akro all ready fitted they may have set it up for akro

Oh dear this could start to get expensive.....two Mt 9s! I hope Yamaha sort out their niggles or they will end with a bad reputation.That is Honda used to do years ago..... Does sound lovely though!
Cam chain issues have affected 50% of the bikes, but Yamaha do appear to be dealing with it.

What does it say on your new cam tensioner? Mine says S2 but I can't tell if mines making a funny sound
I had an S2. It was just replaced by Yamaha for an S1. i've only done 150 miles on it but so far its fine. If you had a cam chain rattle, you would definitely know about it. It was very easy to hear, even over the Akrapovic!
Good 'un. Someone needs to be more vocal about all the problems otherwise it's just us talking on the forum. I agree though, it's a good bike when it works.

There seems to be issues that need resolving. Keep us posted on anything new that comes up. Oh, one question....How is the vibration in the bars, seat, pegs when you accelerate through the gears? Love the sound of this motorcycle.
cam chain tensioner was replaced, and the bikes running great now. No issues at all. The bike does vibrate, but its not horrendous. Get one!!! :)
