imo I don't find much out of the ordinary here. I mean for all of us outsides pods, you date, you go on trips to either connect deeper or get to know the person or you move in together. As you're getting to know each other you start to see the compatibility or incompatibility of your personalities and based on that each person is free to decide if you should continue in the relationship towards something more serious or marriage or you break up. That's the cycle. Both these people were being super human. I think is good that he was being very honest with her and saving her the hurt that he was about to cause her later in life
