My name is Kendra (my government name), but I’m also known around the Black Manosphere as DJ Fish Grease. My grandmother tried to do this to me when I was engaged to my husband by trying to say he was “controlling”. I stood by my husband because my grandmother is a hyena. This reminds me of a black woman I met years ago from New York. We came together, got along extremely well and effectively managed a long-distance relationship (me living in Chicago), but she had what she called a "sister circle" of single girlfriends who met for cocktails every other week. As they saw her happy, they started telling her that men from Chicago were allegedly "slick" and could not be trusted. It didn't matter that none of them even knew a man from Chicago, nor did it matter how absolutely happy we were together. She broke it off in short order purely on the word of her friends, so all of them of course remained single and complaining about men together.
If she was that gullible, my friend you dodged a real problem. Be thankful you did. There's a good one out there for you.

Given that, the behavior of the woman in your story and in in many others told here (obviously in the video too) becomes much easier to understand.
