Serena really doesn't get enough credit for being an excellent returner of serve. From what I saw in 2002 that was the biggest difference between her and everyone else. Back then Davenport, Venus and maybe Capriati had good serves and Venus was known as the Queen of Aces and Davenport had this wicked reliable slider out wide on the ad side. But Serena towered over them all with a return that was sent back with interest.
It could've been better if you had added the 2010 Australian open Match Vs Azarenka.

@@JCole-fg3rr On second serves. She doesn't do that on first delivery. But one thing I saw in Wimbledon 2008 final was how Venus was inside the baseline to return Serena''s serve.
I love watching Serena attacking the serves. Nobody does it like Serena. She is at a different level altogether 💖💖💖
If she had been on a different she would have won more than those 73 of 240 tournaments she has played.
With that win rate she is closer to Sabatini and Azarenka than to all-time greats like Court and Graf.
I would be curious to see how fast some of these returns are. Several look faster than the serve itself which is saying something. She's incredible.

Omg… you uploaded this just as I finished watching SW vs Caty McNally at the 2019 USO. I live the match for a number of reasons…one of my faves. Anywho, she clobbered a serve from McNally on match point to seal the win…would’ve been a perfect closer to this video. Love your content!!! All hail the queen!

People are serving with more power and pace now, and it annoys me that Serena doesn't back up from the baseline more often to give herself time to return the serve with not only power and pace, but complete accuracy. She might just be used to being able to return anything that was thrown at her.

Sharapova is a verified doper who tried to save face after it was proven she took a performance enhancing substance for, in her own words, over ten years. Serena has never once failed a drug test or tested positive for anything performance enhancing or illegal. There ya go little buddy!
