THE COACH
Patrick
Prepare first, pay attention on your shot, more spin, hit deep, forward, keep your eyes on the ball... it is interesting to see what the world's best player is told from her coach is not much different from what I, a mere mortal recreational player, am told from my coach. it tells me no magic, but her hard works on executing basic fundamentals has created her magic.
I agree ☝️
Coaching is easy. Learning is the hard part:
@@gozer825 I could not agree with you more. So true.
Knowing what to do and doing it are two different things. If you ever watch your coach play tennis, you think, "Hold it. He's not doing what he's teaching me to do." Executing is difficult.
Worlds best player?
Serena says nothing during the whole session. Can you imagine her intensity. She doesn’t disagree with anything. Just input input input.
I love watching tennis from this perspective. It really gives you an idea just how hard pros hit. It's insane.
Yeah wish they showed this angle more.
It’s amazing, I could watch it every day.
I need to see her on hard court please?!?!
She's not hitting that hard...but yes this court level view is awesome
Yeah more points should be filmed at this angle for ATP and WTA stuff would be better viewership
Patrick is a great coach. I love his approach to moving forward and cutting off the angle.
@@marjorjorietillman856 true to that. I am a big fan of both sisters.
@@matguillaume2324 yes, I love both of them. But I’ll delete my comment, because I don’t feel like hearing from other folks that takes my comment out of context.
Just amazing...Serena is so hungry to play and win. So much passion and dedication
I like the fact that she has won 23 grand slams and still gets coached.
Now that’s humble
u cant win 23 majors without hard work and a good coach. it's not about talent, it's always about work ethic and development
@@filippovecchiarelli1144 I just basically said that
@@filippovecchiarelli1144 At this level it's about talent as well.
You got it wrong. Nothing about humility at all - it’s about the pursuit of excellence. She wants to maximise her performance.
thats professional not humble. and u need to look at different perspective. u only saw her won 23 grand slam, how about all the losses? about the technical error? thats where the coach step in.
what a beast! awesome motivation, the fierceness of Serena and the mindfulness of Patrick. What an aggressive player Serena is, great to see the couple work!
beast is right.
If Serena can win 2 more GS (24 and 25), let it be Wimbledon and we NEED that 4th clay win at RG. It's up to her. Get fit and fight for them.
She doesn't need them though
@@bootyshake5043 Serena needs a 4th RG win for sure (to match Steffi's minimum record of 4 wins). While she's at it, Serena might as well pick up another US Open win to reach 7 for three GS tournaments. Two more GS wins and she firmly takes the leaderboard with 25. She has enough AO and Wimbledon wins. Either way, she needs to get back to her 2012-2015 level of fitness. Otherwise, Serena will remain slower and stall out at the SF round.
@@got2bjosh It's impossible for her to get to that level of fitness again. She's simply older
@@got2bjosh I don't understand why Serena would need to win a 4th RG when she already has more slams than Steffi over all? She also can't get back to 2012-15 fitness - but she can sure adapt and develop her game in other ways.
@@tdc_2021 2012 fitness no, but 2016 fitness is attainable for sure
I’m so happy to see this! Love you Serena ♥️
Glad to see Serena moving and being energized again. I hope she stays healthy.
This is spring 2021… but yeah I second your thoughts
Did you say moving??
Super vidéo. Merci Patrick. As someone who grew up in Cameroon, i was dreaming as a child of becoming a tennis player myself because of the william's sisters example.I really enjoyed this video.
1:29 - Now that is world class champion execution. She pays attention to all the details. Chest up, arch'd back, elbow high, arm and shoulder BEHIND her, racket literally on knife's edge, turn of the wrist, doing everything in her power to increase leverage, and then that awesome wrist flip release. Her eye/hand coordination is excellent.
I love Serena's cannon balls. So powerful. If Serena can get her fitness to the elite level, she will dominate tennis again, even at her age.
Agreed.
Not really. Younger players get better fitness and better coaching. She won't be as elite as the new generation ever again
*Your coach when you’re Serena Williams:*
“Great! Fantastic! Good Job! Awesome! You’re doing everything right! Wait…. Why am I here?”
Right, he gave her like 98% positive feedback lol.
Just suggestions and reminders on on the small things, no big corrections.
She was most unstoppable in years 2002-2003 and again 2012-2013, hopefully she’ll repeat the (last) cycle again… 2022 - 2023? or was it only wishful thinking? can’t argue the fact she’s getting old 🤔🤔
No I like the way you thinking, I hope and pray that your wishful thinking will come through.
03:38 Why doesn't Serena look at him when he talks? Looks like she's not happy to be there!?
Serena ❤️Love from Serbia🇷🇸
This is from a year ago before her injury. To people thinking she is practicing this now …
Haven't watched a tennis match since she's been away from the sport.....will be good to see the Greatest play again......
Me too lol.. it felt like a home without mom in it
Amazing movement for a 40 year-old Serena. Hope No.24 happens in 2022, Serena -- serving well is 85% of the battle.
Which we haven’t seen her serve as a weapon since… 2017 ?
She moves with all the grace of a reversing lorrie
@ mme cos you can do so much better. Does the m stands for Maria sharapova
@@MeMe-td1ye More like an elephant on ecstasy 🙂
When you want to see amazing movement, watch a video between close to 50 years old Steffi Graf and Petkovic, compared to S. Graf, Serena moves like an elephant...
Dammmmnnn - with 23 grand slams there is still some things to one improved. I thought she is already 'perfect'!
She is really really amazing but really far from perfect. Not to be sexist or anything but any man that’s top 500 and higher can easily beat her
@@april1865 how is that at all relevant to her greatness it’s basic biology that’s why men and women sports are separated I don’t understand why u felt the need to say this?
@@owen5515 gender equality hurts
She gets all her powers from that bunda
I admire this woman so much! I’m so grateful to share time on earth with her
I'm not a Serena stan by any measure, but guys. It's clay. Once you play and run on clay, you'll know not to go full throttle on it. It can be dangerous. Two, she's probably either already played a mock match or did her fitness training before this coaching session. She's never anywhere near this slow in match play. And finally, from what I saw, she's still got it. I mean, you're free to have an opinion, but I feel like it's a lot less valid if you've never hit the courts.
Respect!!!! U said that!

This isn’t recent guys she’s still hurt:( this is from spring 2021 Pre RG
Always amazing to watch a pro practice/coaching session! Mèrci beaucoup!
Dying to see her back in competition!! When will we see her again playing for titles?
It's killing me not having her on tour. When she retires I might from my job too🤣🤣 ill be so depressed.
@@yezmirsheppard-halika6892 amen!
Probably not
@@yezmirsheppard-halika6892 same
Just go away. Probably a usta ranked 4.5 is beating her
Her racquet acceleration is so fast when you slow the video to the slowest speed it’s still fast.
🙏 thank you for sharing, invaluable lessons and very educational.
I figure he is giving her those tips and instructions because the cameras are rolling...its basically for us...because I doubt serena forgot the technicalities of her serve and what not xD
Actually, you'd be surprised. This is why coaching isn't allowed in tennis. A few words of encouragement can completely change a player's mood and performance. It's also a lot of reinforcement. Most coaches watch their players and say to themselves, "Come on, you know this." But out loud, they'll just keep using positive reinforcement and teach it like it's the first time, even if they're just reinforcing the desired behavior until it turns from reaction to reflex.
Please come back, WIN Wimbledon and US open, and then retire to live your life the way you want to.
Please play WTAs for the rythm
After 23 grand slams she still gets coached. She never said a word during the entire session. She is just learning and implementing. A true champion!
I was surprised she didn’t speak once.
Just listened and executed.
She does everything right what Venus does wrong . Venus also can't make power the way Serena can on the run and cut angles and make her own . Serena is a bomb . Hated her all my growing up years but how can anyone take away anything from this woman? Fucking dynamite . And the fucking sampras serve is just too much to handle for most women
please make more videos! amazing to watch this
My god its delusional. She will never win another slam. She hasnt won anything in half a decade. Let it go
It's quite amazing coaching the greatest of all time WTA player.
Serena. A true champion and inspiration ❤️
LOVE SERENA. Thank you for this video. Great team!
She still got it all except movement. I hope she’ll make it
She is pure queen of court and never get bored to play ❤️🔥 keep it up my Queen 😍😍😍
When I say she is just an awesome athlete Tennis is so depressing without her no one. I mean that one player on tour has that intensity that this woman possesses I mean every game I’m just literally like in awe even her practice sessions are amazing.
Looking forward to see a come back of Serena!
Absolutely fantastic video - I learnt so much from watching such a great player work with an elite coach.
She's training with a guy. That explains a lot.
Please Serena come back Queen!!..Women's tennis is so boring right now..I barely watch..🇿🇼🇺🇸.
Man she’s a big girl I mean ALL freaking muscle ..
Any idea on who Serena is hitting with? My guess is either a top junior. Or if it’s who I’m guessing it is (forgot the name) is around 600 in the world
She is my favorite tennis player! I i appreciate her so bad!
DAYYYUUMMM! I mean, I knew she was good but this angle really shows you. What a fucking champion excuse my language but DAYUM!
Patrick is a wonderful coach for Serena I believe she can do it she just has to stay focused keep up the good work Serena I believe in you I always had God bless you both 🔥🔥❤️❤️
Mucho animo para Serena , desde Chile con amor para la mas grande del mundo
Love the come back. Interesting how Serena doesn't scream during practice. I remember someone named Aaron Carpenter (top in Texas back in 2004-06) he was always grunting, always on feeds. I would have loved to been able to watch Serenas matches in its entirety but I couldn't stand the high decibels when she played.
Especially when it was a Sharapova vs Serena match. Was always mesmerized by boths dominant plays, athleticism and beauty but couldn't bear to hear the screams of effort they put into each shot.
I agree. I stopped watching women's tennis because of that. It just sucks.
Intense training with very great technical tips, but we all came here for 7:06 😎
Hardworking Serena is an inspiration to many people. It shows that nothing comes easy in life. You have to be dedicated and focused on what you have set up to achieve
am taking all this advice.. thanks patrick
Greatest of all time. Love Serena!
Is she ever coming back to compete?
Hello Sir I am an 11 year old boy who is looking for just one opportunity and I promise I'll make the most out of that opportunity,I am a determined young boy and I am asking you for a scholarship
The POWER of this Woman OMG, I love her.
is this a joke video!?
7:04 LOL
7:05 LOL
Hello Coach, I am a newbie Coach her in my Town, also a Newbie in RUclips, I always watching your videos to get idea on how to teach learn Tennis.. Can I get your little help?... Thank you so much Coach Patrick
You’re lucky to be training one of the greatest that ever played.
seems like she didn't want to be recorded, but went along with it to help patrick's channel. she's quiet and probably doesn't even need coaching during practice.. needed more so during a match
Drop at 3:30 is amazing. What could you explain to a number 1 player? I always asked, well...
Is this new? I think this is from last year. Correct me if im wrong
It’s indeed from last year 😉
Serena seems very enthusiastic about practice..
The pros never fatigue during a game because there training is so physically demanding, well above match level play.
Rindu Serena ❤️,kapan lagi turun di turnament WTA?
Harus kembali rebut juara, dan grand Slam.
Serena harus juara lagi?🙏👍
I can see why he hit that
0:04/5 s3conds: was Serena Williams annoyed w/ the Mr Sporty body just strolling on her battlefield:)?
LOL xl, ev3n P. Mouratoglou couldn't stop giggling, funny.
Thx 4 posting her practice session, love it.
Craaaaaaazy: 1:38 minutes to 2 mins.!!!
Wow: power, precision, angles, spin, drive...all of it making it look so easy displayed by The One!!!
Good court perspective, and that is "just" practice?
My champion forever 💜
Dear Patrick, please can you advise. There are three kinds of returns: defensive, neutral and offensive. How do we navigate these intelligently to build a point/rally? Look forward to your thoughts. Many thanks, Cameron.
She’s got the whole bakery😂
Edit: I’m kidding she my idol 😂
Technically absolutely normal backhand, forehand and serve. But the quality is very high: she hits powerfully with no mistakes. The difference is in her head: great reflexes, great coordination.
I think the guy in the corner needs help with his overhead technique. :-) Patrick has the best instructional videos on RUclips!!! He makes it so easy to understand why the various elements of swing mechanics are important.
Cannot wait to see her on the court. Let's go Serena!!
This was very valuable
She should abandon that open stance backhand it has no power and is a muscle shot. Her closed stance backhand has so much power you hear the sound. But I’m on a keyboard right ?
QUEEN!!!! Patrick don't be giving off all her secrets now, you know these opponents be hungry. Gotta surprise attack!
Amazing! Can’t wait to see Serena again. Love her! She’s the GOAT!
Loved to see Serenas giggle near the end of the video. She didn't seem like she's missed a beat. She definitely still has her weapons, but does she have the drive to win another few times before she finally calls it quits?
Favorite to win the 2022 Wimbledon singles woman title again! Most powerful tennis player in the world today, men or women!
it must be cool being jamere jenkins, get to work on one of the dopest tennis teams in the game and probably gets paid way way more than he ever did playing
"you took advantage of every centimeter..."
And Serena is thinking: "what the hell is a centimeter?!?" 😄
Funny as hell , serena 23 gs geting coached like a ntrp 3.5
We look at Serena with respect, but I look also to the sparring partner, he's very good and thx Patrick
I like the focus of Serena. How she processes feedback while fighting exhaustion. Attitute of a true champion she is.
Solid fundamentals! Think she'll have a good chance of being competitive and getting her name out there.
Coach talks to much LOL every thing he has a comment. Geez
She's overweight for professional tennis, she can barely move and when she does, she is slow. In one occasion she almost fell down as she lost her balance.
What can you tell-coaching to someone that has 20 GS???? It must be very challenging to do that
Serena was cracking up after dude looked like she just shot a cannon ball at his head! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Her body language after she wins a point... it's like she doesn't even want to be there at all :(
Her serve is absolutely flawless!!! Hope she paying him guap coz she hella miserable on court
