Funniest parts of the movie for me
1. The Grinch- I'm an idiot!
Echo- You're an idiot!
2. The Grinch- Taxi.
*Taxi avoids him*
The Grinch- It's because I'm green isn't it!
Although I personally can't stand the movie I do agree that those two jokes are the funniest parts of the entire film.
ur simple
@@victoriagarcia3078 I kinda find that one part where he looks at a phonebook and goes "hate hate hate hate, double hate, LOATHE" funny only because we have to watch that every year in school and once someone said "Dude that guy's going to DIE."
J.G Productions 😂🤣
at least this Grinch is less scary than the Chuck Jones one that traumatized me as a child
Fun fact: Jim Carrey had to get spinal surgery after this film due to a back injury caused by carrying this movie
And even sadder, years later he had to go through the procedure again due to the sonic movie
@@user-mx4is4fx3c come on, it's better than the super mario bros film
ΑΡΙΣΤΟΤΕΛΗΣ ΛΑΧΑΝΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ The only scene that would’ve given Jim Carrey’s back trouble was the scene where he danced to “Evil Grows in the Dark” while waiting for Sonic’s quill to be analysed.
I don’t blame Carey. I blame the director
@@hckingking Better than the live action one? Yes. Better than the animated super Mario bros movie? No.
"Cindy Lou, no more than 2."

Or maybe Whos age differently than humans?

It’s impressive that he managed to do an entire Review while Rhyming
And that's not to mention his impeccable timing!
Ya probaly was hard to plan out the script
I'm surprised that he never once slipped.
Not the 1st time Doug did this movie rhyming. Cinema sins and Doug did a review. Quite funny actually.
linkara did it better
I'm surprised that he kept up the rhythm it was sublime
watching this was great, i had wonderful time
UnicornSpaceWhale It always is! Whether or not the Grinch is the color of a lime!
Hey, why won't we just keep up the rhyme
Invite your friends, make sure it sounds fine!
Your rhymes are corny, worth less than a dime. ;D
Jacob Friedman At least it's not from Nickelodeon or else this classic would've also been covered in slime...
There's one thing this movie severely lacks;
it's explaining the origin of the Grinch's dog, Max.
He hates how the Whos just throw everything out,
so THAT'S what Max's story should be about.
A year long before the Grinch ran away,
another young Who went to his parents to say
that for Christmas he wanted a dog for his own.
Christmas time came, and a pup they brought home.
The little young Who was excited and glad,
but the novelty wore off, more than a tad.
He got bored with the pup, and then quick as a flash,
he threw out his would-be-friend with the trash.
Meanwhile the Grinch found himself a new home.
He was angry and sad and completely alone.
Then what to his wandering eye should appear
but a puppy who whimpered and whined in fear.
He then saw the Grinch, and he smiled with glee.
'Will HE be my friend?' the pup thought, "I shall see!"
With no fear in his heart, he sat down by his side.
From the Grinch, the pup felt no need to hide.
But the Grinch was still hurt, his heart filled with dismay.
He looked at the pup and he shoved him away.
The pup wasn't vexed by what the Grinch did.
He sat down once again by the green, hairy kid
and nuzzled him, which said "On me, you can depend."
Not long after that, the Grinch called him "Friend".
Bobsheaux And while it's nice they gave The Grinch a origin. It makes it unbelievable when later The residents of who ville come together to do Christmas without presents. You're telling me the people who mocked and forced a 10 year old child to run away from his town are such a good and strong family they can celebrate Christmas WITHOUT presents? I'm calling bullshit by the 3rd degree levels of Tommy Lee Jones playing Two Face.
Bobsheaux Now that is a good rhyme!
This movie is revolting
I'm glad it was forgotten
It's also insulting
So stupidly rotten
It shouldn't be "for kids"
As many parts state
I'd especially rid
Of the part where that dog is on his face...
Really Jim Carry?
You've reduced to this?
You were really just annoying
I'll sadly admit
The colors as said
in many reviews
Are bland as they could get
The good ones? Very few...
That whole backstory was pointless
It was okay being simple
They've brought Dr. Suess to this
A movie full of stickle
Good to see you Bobshaux
I just love your ryhme!
I just want you to know
That I had to reply...
Bye! (I didn't know you knew Nostalgia Critic and possibly Cinamma Sins! This comment is so old...)
Very good rhyming. This actually would have made a better movie than what we got.

Agreed. Most rap I hear today is over entitled 20-year-old idiots bragging about how they have lots of money. If I wanted to listen to big headed numbskulls beg about money, I'll just listen to Trump say anything.
Supershadowman2001 Well played.
"Seriously, we're letting the brat sing in this?" What's ironic about that line is that the kid would grow up to become, pretty much, a good singer.
“Pretty” much? Ba dum tiss
hmm
"Where are you Christmas?"
Years later "I'm going to hell!"
"What would PETA say?"
They'd probably have Max put down. To "save him" from his "Slave life."
Lmao yes
A couple scenes I think the dog looked into the camera begging us to do that. Breaking the 4th wall.
@xBloodxFangx and yet the dog would be dead …..
"Are we going to let the brat sing here?" Haha, obviously he's never heard the Pretty Reckless. That girl has pipes.
Chris McCartney i was thinking that too!
Chris McCartney Aye, she has pipes now. but her singing back then....eh. just yer average movie child singing.
Not when she was 12 though.
I'd love to see her remake that song now. What with her whole "I try way too hard to be edgy" thing. Guaranteed hilarity!
Well being an adult I can assure you the sentiment is shared. Girls got talent, she is just trying desperately hard to cover up her child star past. Just saying
The actor who played Robbie Rotten would be a great Grinch!
The Mammalizer good idea
The Mammalizer I don't think it'll work, it will just make me flinch.

Yea but this movie is very physics defying
titangirl161 truth
Yeah, but,to be even MORE fair, your feelings do not reside in your heart, but in your brain. @@CaptainCat101 And he sure did lived that part of his charisma and fun performance.
The Grinch works, as long as you view it as a parody of the story, and Dr Suess generally. It fails as a straight up adaptation, but as a spoof it's great.
Orr Orr or as a story TOLD by the Grinch’s viewpoint.
Right I thought it was meant to be seen as a parody I dont get why people are taking it so serious lol every line Jim Carey said was a joke not a single serious line except for when his feelings for Martha may came about.
The grinch used comedy as a defense mechanism for his anger/ loneliness we saw he was lonely but he himself was in denial and saw it as everyday life talking to himself. I dont get why people dont get the plot it's simple but made sense he was bullied because he looked different was lonely and in denial about his feelings and came to term with those feelings in the end it wasnt a horrible plot. Plus he was hilarious throughout the whole movie and made the same exact facial expressions the animated grinch made
@@lelelew2735 because it's not the original so it's automatically bad! /s

Jim Carey makes this movie.

Potato Man honestly I’m giving the new channel version a chance cause the new trailers actually don’t look that bad
I love how you’re able to parody the original cartoon and rhyme the whole time while reviewing this. Very clever. And your perfect facial expressions sell it even further.
Yes, how the Critic does this is great. I wonder how long the script took to make?
he's almost like..Jim..Carrey, oh, my GOD!
The problem with all the Dr. Seuss adaptations is that none of his stories translate to more than about 30 minutes of screen time. You try to make that an hour and a half and you have a lot of shitty filler.
Kind of like what they did with The Hobbit.
The Gray Market Safari The Hobbit could have made three movies work. If they focused less on awkward tie ins to lord of the rings and more on developing the twelve other dwarves that barely had any lines.
Rylan Donecker The 12 dwarves were a bad choice from the start. Most of them are just redundant characters and the party seems to fair no better as a result of having 12 of them... Unless you want to go down the rabbit hole of looking for Christ metaphors (don't).
At the very least, they could have shown them doing some awesome teamwork, moving boulders and doing things that a mere group of four could not.
Being the shortest of the four books, they should have done a single film. Two, tops.
The Gray Market Safari They were originally were supposed to do two movies and it shows. The second one was great but the first and last felt very stretched.
Rylan Donecker Peter Jackson needs an editor with a taser so he can zap his ass when he tries to leave drawn-out bullshit in his films. "No, Pete, it's going to be an hour and fifty-five minutes, no more!"
The Gray Market Safari Zap."No Peter were not doing a cringey love story with Kili and some random elf." Zap."No Peter you can't do that cliffhanger."
WOW He really rhymed through the whole thing.
DazeKaze KookyKill I know, it must have taken him forever to put this together.
Vanellope'sCorner it actually might of took less time. You get to say less as long as you rhyme. It will leave you satisfied, a smile on your face. Now that my wisdom was shared, I'm out of this place.
Angsty Tantrum haha ok

First off, that was autocorrect.
Second off, it's still foul language.
duck is still foul language?
SaltyIce it's a pun...foul...get it?
godamnit, how'd i not get that till now?
you have to give Jim Carrey credit here. he spent eight hours in makeup getting it put on and getting it taken off. not to mention the yellow contacts he had to wear the covered his ENTIRE EYE. He said in an interview once that those were super painful and he had to take pain meds like 5 times a day just to be able to deal with it and he still performed well imo.
Didn't they also get in an expert on how to tolerate torture to coach him as well? I don't remember what the proper title was but at some point he outright refused to wear the contacts because he couldn't take the pain any longer and they had to cg in the eyes.
I feel even worse for the kid playing the 10 year old version of The Grinch.
Well the guy who played the kid was actually 18; yeah he had dwarfism. Still that contacts shit is unreal.
@Blackemperess, Yes, you're right. They had to bring in a CIA anti-torture expert to help him cope with the pain and claustrophobia of being (as Carrey called it) "encased" in all that makeup and hair.
It was yak hair used for the costume apparently
2:55 Legend has it that Horton protected that snowflake. Thanks alot Horton.
I do still wonder how that flake hovered in position for an hour and a half 🤔 😅
What?
Horton protected a speck, not a flake.
Though I grant they’re both small, that’s a major mistake.
A snowflake is ice, and I’m sure you well know,
When it’s blown on or heated, away it must go.
A dust speck, by contrast, could be many things,
Like dandruff and bug stuff and old insect wings!
But dust, for the most part, is dander and rocks,
Not unlike the pebbles you find in your socks.
When the clover was stolen and flown through the air,
A snowflake would not last for five minutes there.
Anyways, nerd rant done. Ice is weak, dust is strong.
I hope you enjoyed learning something. So long! 😀
Gotta love that the girl who played Cindy Loo Who (Taylor Momsen) is now the frontwoman and head writer for the hard rock band The Pretty Reckless. How times change.
Dollarbillguy wasn't she also one of the Gossip Girls?
I actually hate that 6-7 year old played 2 year old
She also played the president’s daughter in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams.
Fun Fact: The real Dr. Seuss actually hated the original Chuck Jones adaptation.
What the hell!? Really!? It’s by far the best version! Why’d he hate it!?
According to comic book artist Scott Shaw (who actually worked with Seuss before he died), he didn't like Jones' adaptation because to him the cartoon didn't actually feel like his work or characters animated, and it felt too much like Chuck Jones' style.
The cartoon to me felt exactly like his work! Was he high!?!?
He should be thankful someone made an adaption of his work at all especially the legendary Chuck Jones. Not many people get that lucky.
InvaderPet that's really interesting. I wonder why?
This is probably one of my favourite nostalgia critic episodes, the rhyming is original and the humour too
I found the rhyming tiresome after the first bit before the review began.
I really wish this had been a normal review, probably the only NC episode i dislike
@@Dead25m Same, it's just irritating to me as well
Out of all reviews, its one you should choose
While the Jim Carey adaptation will never replace the animated original, I don’t think it’s that bad.
BTW… this was long before Taylor Momsen, who played Cindy-Lou Who in that adaptation, grew up to front a rock band called The Pretty Reckless. She’s come a long way from that!
Oh man. When Doug reviews the 2018 grinch....hes gonna rhyme again
Hopefully so
You know what I never say...
If you have no time, just rhyme on the go!
As long as the grinch doesn’t get stuck on replay.
Came back from the review... and you will be disappointed.
Unfortunately there was no rhyming. There is a super corny bit pre-review though.
Sad no ryming noises
You were wrong
Dr. Suess was never PG? Private Snafu begs to differ.
+Edras Velasco It means, 'Parental Guidance', in this case.
I thought that most people don't know anything about the Snafu cartoons! I got introduced to them in the "Five Came Back" documentary and they're great! Admittedly, it never crossed my mind that Dr Suess helped draw them but given all the political cartoons he did during World War II and their artistic style it makes so much sense.
Oh, and his first book was raunchy as fuck. It was entitled "The Seven Lady Godivas", and it was full of naked women. It's been out of print for decades, and for good reason.
Yeah, to say that Dr. Suess has always been squeaky-clean would be rather inaccurate, indeed.
Homeboy never talked down to his audience actually. Pick up any of his more popular books and there's always a political side to it. The Cat in the Hat is about rebellion of the youth, Yrtle the Turtle is about the rise and fall of Hitler, Horton Hears a Who! is about Hiroshima (despite the popular belief it's against abortion, it's not), the Sneetches mocks discrimination (especially anti semitism), and so on
I can't believe you rhymed the entire thing thats crazy, the movie could barely do a couple of lines it was so lazy.
Vincent Santangelo
1.5 hour movies are way harder to rhyme than a 20 minute video.
RubberBoy II correction 19:49 video
My favorite moment in the whole movie:
"This is NOT pudding."
"Then what is it?"
(No answer)
That line was great. Jim Carrey was his usual self, although like Doug said in Cat and the Hat, he does a really good job under that much makeup. Christine Baranski's always great, and in this movie she's also hotter than she has any right to be, which sends my gonads mixed messages. I think Doug's right about everything else. This is enjoyable at times, but it's not Seuss's work. It's not even a good adaptation of it.
“Jim Carrey was his usual self” I don’t know what that even means… he’s so amazingly talented that we don’t even know who the “real Jim Carrey is.” He’s more versatile than any other comedic actor EVER
Yeah Jim Carrey's delivering of that line after eating the NOT Pudding was brilliant and went by so fast that it's easy to miss
1:58 Back when the PG rating actually had a point.
The 2018 version has the same rating; get the joint?
BoyThunder Productions the 2018 animated grinch movie got the PG rating because of mild rude humor.
Yeah, but there was a time when films like Hunchback of Notre Dame and Planet of the Apes could get away with G ratings while films like Spaceballs and Gremlins had a lot of content that would pass as PG-13 nowadays. See NC's "Does PG Mean Anything?" for more information.

Hey Critic,
the live action is great.
As well as book and cartoon,
loving them is our fate.
As you read this,
it must be understood.
By 2018,
prepare for animated reboot.
The original animation was better and carried Suess's goal, while this one tarnishes it and digs itself into a hole.
Jim carrey was fine, and the humor was somewhat decent, but it was way too pandering, dated, and recent.
It's message is sloppy, and the who's are alarming, whereas in the original they were both cute and innocently charming.
The who's always knew that Christmas would come, in keeping with their happiness and pure lack of glum.
The story was stronger when he learned from their selfless display, but why bother with such thoughtfulness anyway?
So while it might be something you and your friends or family crave, just be aware it's making Dr. Suess himself, roll in his grave.

that's a lot of whos
TMNTfan2000 AKA: Skylanders4You! dat who lol
Everyone else looks like a demon possessed Hungry Hungry Hippo!
No martha may has a normal nose
Shes quite less scary as any who goes
I'm not a fan of the movie, and the backstory's OK, but my mother loves this movie in an unnatural way. I choose not to comment and keep my thoughts to myself, but it makes as much sense as an Elf on the Shelf. Jim Carrey is funny, I'll give my mom that, and at least this movie isn't Cat in the Hat. I hope you enjoyed this comment I posted, it took me all video, and my brain is toasted.
Well done, good job, you put on a show! But your comment isn't as good as Santa bath robe.
Knife-edge Productions lol this is great!
Well done, well done! Oh isn't rhyming just fun? I for one do it all the time as if it were a pledge! I must say that you've got quite the skills there Knife-edge!
Sam I Am: Great! Amazing! Rhyming is swell! But nothing beats a cup of good old pigs well!
True. Though the whos at whoville were made to seem dense,
I guess u could say it kinda makes sense.
Despite how some writers didnt feel like they had wits, by making a joke about a who from whooville's tits
They did choose to have a jerky town display
But in some eyes its like its telling commercialism today.
They dont have character to me that strong. But the way they show today is hard to prove wrong.
So props to that i guess. I won't draw a line. If anyone likes this movies, well thats fine.
The Thing is a much better Christmas movie.
ben
Agreed here.
***** Only if you think Bruce Willis is cooler than Kurt Russell.
And consider the ending of The Thing. You don't get much better than that.
We're biased, clearly. But aren't we all.
The Gray Market Safari Nah, Foodfight is the best Christmas film.
FUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKK THE GRINCH!!!
Billy Esparza We don't even know what that means. But yeah, fuck The Grinch. #TheBookWasBetter
Look up Food Fight. It's grotesque and absurd
No more rhymes, now I mean it
Critic: Does anyone want a peanut?
ah, i see you're a man of culture as well
G A A A A A H
Inconceivable!

I actually love this version. Especially it gave character to Cindy Lou Who. She was the one Who who thought the Grinch was not evil, just misunderstood. Plus the climax with the slipping sled is much better here than in the animated version for one simple reason: In the animated version, the Grinch risked his life for a sled of just presents, which according to the moral, are not worth saving. But in the Jim Carrey movie, the Grinch ended up saving not just the presents, but Cindy's life which was much more important than toys. He saved the one Who in all of Whoville who believed in him. Especially after she said, "I came to see you. No one should be alone on Christmas." After lifting the sled up over his head, he even joyously screamed, "I got ya, Cindy Lou!" "You did it!"
WiiGuy2014 that’s true. In the movie when he realized he’s not strong enough to save the sled he was gonna let go and said “oh well, it’s just toys right?” And that’s when she popped up. The stakes were immediately raised very high and saving her life mattered more than the material possessions
Even in bad movies, good can shine through in them. I still can’t get over all the vulgarity though, but that is just my opinion.
There's a lot of good stuff in this movie. Its bastardization of Dr. Seuss and weird, gloomy, unintentionally creepy-to-some look are what do it in for people. I am a biased party, being old enough to remember this coming out and young enough to have made it my childhood, so this movie feels just like Christmas to me. The colors of the holiday that still shine through the murk and the whimsical Seussian flair to everything in sight still influence my expectations for what Christmas should look like. I was scared of everything as a kid and this movie just never came off as scary or even creepy to me, possibly excluding the termites in the Grinch's smile, but I still loved that. The grinch is supposed to be nasty as fuck, so whatever. A Christmas Carol is a thing, for fuck's sake. Though now that I've had it pointed out to me, I definitely see how even the Whos can be intentionally creepy. The story and music really worked for me, too, and still work. But as an adult the real extent to what pricks the Whos really are is even more obvious and jarring. Overall, it's probably a generational thing. You had to have seen it as a kid or chances are it might just be really off-putting. And yes, I was very familiar with the animated one by the time this came out and I respect it, but in all honesty the movie is just way more entertaining and was always more memorable for me.
The moral in the original never said presents aren't worth saving from falling off a mountain, it just said that they're not the most important thing about Christmas. And while it is nice that, in this version, the Grinch was also even more motivated to save Cindy Lou Who, why would she risk her own life like that? Why did she climb to the top of the load that was clearly falling off the mountain in blatant disconcern of her own safety instead of just staying on the ground? And even if she got up there before it started falling, why did she even feel the need to climb up there anyway? Not only that, but mere seconds earlier she was down in Whoville with everyone else singing, and there's no way she could have gotten up there that fast.
you did great making everything rhyme that must have took hours upon hours
Everyone involved should be showered with flowers.
Caden Diaz it wasnt that hard for him he said
*that must have took hours upon hours of your time.
*the rhyming thing was really quite sublime, it probably took hours and hours of his time
The movie is bad no doubt about that, but I still like his review of cat in the hat.
I actually did enjoy this movie, and Jim Carry was fantastic in the role
Shahir Hameed Yep he was great in this
But at least he put his all in the role
Shahir Hameed I heard in the early scripts Eddie Murphy almost got the part
Shahir Hameed how old were you when you watched this movie? Just curious.
Shahir Hameed I mostly love it for nostalgic reasons
Can’t you once say a line like a normal person would?
Said the man who keeps speaking in rhyme
Jim Carrey says things like normal people would in Horton. That's a fun movie too.
my question is how did the Grinch get his cave? when he got up there as a kid there was Huge pile of rocks and boulders in the entrance and there is no way he could move those by himself so did he build a machine to move them? or did someone from Whoville help him move the boulders and rocks? because no way in hell could the Grinch by himself move those huge boulders he would have to have some sort of help so how did he get his cave? that my friends is a good question
"P.S: That's gunna suck too."
Damn it, he was right...Again.
A guilty pleasure, to be sure. Jim Carrey was great though.
This movie, despite it's flaws, surly didn't blow!
Why are we rhyming, you silly, silly gooey goose.
Then again, so am I, we must have a screw loose.
Grandmaster Tactician Randy Ever notice Jim Carrey is pulling a Sean Connery accent
as the Grinch
also pulled it off stunningly in The Mask!
"I hate this movie, and so should you
I'm the Nostalgia Critic I remember it so you don't have to." (Drop the mic)
*Cringes*
So the Grinch heads on down; and he"ll be glad that he did! because this scene happens 9:58 you know, for kids! :D
I wholeheartedly believe Jim carry is the only reason this films is remembered well by anyone in anyway.
Indeed.
Just like the Sonic films.
Or as Chip and Dale put it, "ugly Sonic"
Funny, I was just watching the latest Disneycember video. Timing.
The Scorch Effect same
me too.
The Scorch Effect me to
The Scorch Effect I wonder how many people will get the reference
The Scorch Effect CASPER
15:05 the dog regrets being in the movie at this point.
Dog: "THIS WAS NOT IN THE CONTRACT!!!"
AVATAR STICKMAN I was thinking that at about 13:00
But can you master all four elements to defeat the Fire Lord?
To always rhyme
Making the script must have taken and long time
The Grinch actually said “Bitchin” in this movie.
First off, it’s a Christmas Movie.
Second, its a Children’s Christmas Movie.
Third... ITS DR. FUCKING SEUSS!!!!!!!!!
If there's one critic or reviewer who can rhyme thoughout the review without getting annoying; it is Nostalgia Critic!
What about Yahtzee?
Jim Carrey is probably my favorite actor
Sailor Saturn I loved the Cable Guy!
Sailor Saturn Eh, I prefer David Spade.
HateSolstice127 Read the comment directly beneath yours, it’s even more so.
mines tim curry
I think Jim Carrey was perfect for the role. He just needed someone to rein him in... And whoever thought that "kiss" was a good idea.
PenitusVox fuck you
PenitusVox agreed
I still laugh at how The Grinch says "What?!..." at 12:02.
Got different opinions on The Grinch, but goddamn I love this review.
Is it the rhyming?
I still like Grinch, but the original is better.
Then watch both of them proudly in your nice Christmas sweater!
...I tried.
+Cartoonyworld109 No, it's a good rhyme, better than most rappers! (But that's not saying much, they have the density of Christmas wrapper.)
Sir. Mannington agreed
Both the book and animated special.
Yea the movie doesn't follow everything to the letter
Let me guess, this is a reupload because the original was removed from RUclips.
Jacob Connerley Yes yes yes, oh my God
Josephu Joesa ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Jacob Connerley Nope. Was never on an official Nostalgia Critic RUclips channel
OF COURSE
Alex halo Because RUclips is a noob.
That moment when you notice Cindy Lou's headdress is a glass of eggnog in desperate need of a refill 9:07
When I saw this as a kid, I did feel it was lacking. But that makeup was so amazing. Seeing Jim Carey prance around in that costume was enough for me.😁
2:36 best face in the history of anything ever.
The face of my wettest dreams and my wickest nightmares
The nostalgia critic and his face of madness
No, 13:00 was.
You fool, the best face is at 2:27
I never liked this movie, even as the child. The jokes weren't too funny and the story was mild. Though I did like Jim Carrey and some of the sets, the characters are greedy and the backstory made me upset.
But it's far better than Cat in the Hat, I'll give it that.
Dawson Brannan, and The Lorax
The Lorax was mediocre, I must agree, but is it really on the same level as that stain of cat-pee?
Dawson Brannan *tries to think of clever rhyme*
What rhymes with "Shove a rake up Mike Myer's rectum"?
Love a cake up Mike Myers' tectum.
"That should put him back on the acting Spectrum"?
“I’m going to throw up, and I’m gonna die!”
"Mommy, tell it to stop!"
“Hehe...he...almost lost my cool there...”
"I need to stop Christmas from sucking... but how?"
Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas instead
Die hard is a christmas movie
Sorry to say but that’s a confirmed Halloween movie. Not to ruin your day...but it’s still pretty groovy. (This is kind of a thing. Making my comments rhyme. Even if it’s an incredible waste of my time.)
Salty Freak I know but it can also be watched during Christmas. It can be watched during both Halloween and Christmas, which makes it such a good movie.
Still love this movie xD I'll admit some parts are cringeworthy, but all and all it was wacky and fun and my dad and I watch it every year, still laugh at the silly jokes, and enjoy Carey's bombastic interpretation
Of course. Anything with Jim Carrey can be great.
*cough* Dumb and Dumber Too *cough*
+Emily Yanzer
Yeah, I have to agree with you. Some of the jokes are kind of hilarious, and Carrey's performance even got a few laughs from me. Of course, I never saw the movie growing up, Hell, there are probably tons of movies that you saw as a kid that I haven't, but from what I've seen, the film itself might not be a true masterpiece, but it's an awkwardly fun little classic. ;)
+Rubey Rutton
COUGH "Yes Man" COUGH COUGH "Me, Myself, and Irene" COUGH
Emily Yanzer I'm going to be completely honest, I watch it all the time. It's one of my favorite movies. ;)
You guys heard that they're remaking The Grinch AGAIN? And they've got Benedict Cumberbatch acting the Grinch. Not sure how I Feel.
thealiencommunicator
wait what? when?
KindaFunny Productionz It comes out November 2018. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt.
thealiencommunicator Benedict is in my opinion the best choice
I heard it was illumination, so I'm pretty afraid.
thealiencommunicator I've seen the commercials, and it doesn't look good, but I guess we'll see.
I love how Doug rhymes throughout the whole review
I absolutely love the live-action Grinch but you do have a point the animated one is better
The Red Pearl- The one from the 60's or the one coming out?
Potato Man, this was released before the new was announced. So, it's from the 60s.
@@Sonen10 Oh ok
This movie may be over the top, ridiculous, and kinda stupid, but god damn it I enjoy it.
It's one of those movies that's so stupid it's funny, and looking back and finally getting those adult jokes I never understood as a child is entertaining as hell ("Honey, our baby's here! Huh... He looks like your boss..."). And Jim Carrey is still good in this movie, especially given the amount of makeup he was wearing.
So stupid it may be, but it's still a guilty pleasure I can't help but enjoy. Kind of like the Phantom of the Opera movie...
Saying it's a masterpiece may be a bit much, but I still think this movie comes out in the clutch.
Doofdood It's quite good for comedic timing,
This review was so fun to watch, there wasn’t one part I hated
I just wish my viewing of it wasn’t so belated
Going to be honest, I miss the drawings for the thumbnails. They were so good.
Flux Goodra But sadly they're gone, like that your old Christmas hood
Jacob Fartourious XD XD what? I like the rhyme but I'm not upstanding what you're saying.
Understanding*
it may be an excuse, but at least hes trying ;)
Jacob Fartourious XD XD May we stay in the Christmas mood
Heh..this aired on December 15, the date Walt Disney died, same year as the original Grinch, 1966.
This actually makes me want to watch The Grinch. I grew up watching both this & the animated version & enjoy both of them. I loved this film as an 8 yr old, & still love it as a 23 yr old. Nostalgia glasses be damned! Also Taylor Momsen got so hot.
I didn't like the animated one. I prefer the live action one alot more its still funny to me even though Im 21.
emmy rose I'm 23 and I love this version of the Grinch! It's the best Dr. Seuss movie in my opinion. I still think the original version is way better but this version is really good too!
Fun Fact: Dr. Seuss Hated the original Animated Grinch. I'm still sure he'd hate the Live action one.
He never seemed to assosiate himself with his characters personally.
Where did you find that? I don't see any source indicating that Geisel didn't like the animated special.
Can't say that I was a fan of the rhyming but I must confess. If I were to write the script, you're rhyming skills I could never surpass.
stok5445 LOL I see what you did there, and it's not fair! 😋
your unfinished rhyme makes me tear out my hair!
Hey, he didnt rhyme a word with the same word. good job critic
It’s still impressive that Critic managed to have the whole review rhyme, and be closer to the Grinch source material than the actual movie he’s reviewing.
