  • Welcome all Wrists!
In this video I unbox the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date. I got this used, so you will notice the box is a little beat up. Nonetheless, this watch is an absolute stunner and classic timepiece.

Really love the shape of the crystal on this one. Beautiful bracelet also.

The way the dial interacts with the crystal is really something else.

Nice video of the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date! I also like the dial color, case size, and bezel. After getting used to clasps with on-the-fly quick adjustments, I am not a big fan of pins. But no watch is perfect. This watch brand is doing some good things.

They're definitely a great brand with great watches.

Great watch. The numerals on the BCPD may be my favorite in all of watchmaking, especially the “4”…

The 4 is definitely a hit. Very clean and simple.

They should have also included more pop up color dial options in this variation. All the poppy colors are only available with leather bands.

Lovely watch... I'm thinking of purchasing this exact one, then investing in a good premium quality leather strap for the two options... its only £100 more for the bracelet version ?? A lume shot would maybe of completed the video perfectly, but it certainly 90% made my mind up... many thanks... 👍👌

You're right, a lume shot would've been nice. I completely forgot about doing a lume shot when I recorded this, but now it's on my checklist going forward.

I recently bought Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Waldenburgerbahn limited edition. I am facing a lil problem with it. I feel lil bit of a resistance while trying to wind the watch. Is it normal for a watch like this?

If it's completely wound, you may find more resistance. Generally, winding a watch will have some level of resistance, but there shouldn't be so much that it makes it difficult to turn the crown.

Would you still recommend this watch? Is there a longer video coming at any point?

I would still recommend the watch. It looks fantastic, especially with that bezel and is well built. It has classic aesthetics, but fits well in the modern day. I have a bunch of videos I'm currently working on, not sure when I'll get back to the pointer date.

@@welcomewristthank you. I’ve been looking at this one or the Longines heritage classic for my next purchase. Based on your videos I’m leaning towards the Longines but it’s a tough choice.
