Awesome.!Thanks for the information.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. I'm new to painting, and blind, and I really want to get into abstract. Knowing the techniques that work well is super helpful, because as you said you have to use technique even in the abstract. I'm only an artist in the sense that I find painting really fun, but I still want to try to produce something cool. So thanks for the clear tips and descriptions.
Glad it was helpful! I wish you luck!

Thank you! I was struggling to find someone teaching anything about composition that wasn't behind a quite high pay wall.

You are very welcome!
I love the start of this video, very engaging! I found the pace a little too quick for me to take it all in. Things flash by so quickly, it felt like you were on a timer. Hopefully you will consider this for your future productions. A very informative and concise video, I look forward to seeing your other videos. Many thanks.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, it is fast. Anything longer gets a little hard to maintain concentration for middle schoolers. The content is also available in PDF here if that helps: drive.google.com/file/d/1Iql8PxFY2RoyKfDdaKwvHrQ6DN-qCxx_/view?usp=sharing
@@FrankCurkovic I am full of gratitude. I released a few explicatives (in joy) viewing your pdf. Thankyou for gathering all these elements together as a pdf, free of overwhelming detail. Creating a successful abstract is not easy and this is an excellent place to begin. 💓
@@jeng5591 You are very welcome!

How are there no comments? This video is awesome!
Thank you kindly!
Thanks so much!
Very useful. Any books you could recommend to find out more about this topic and everything related to composition in abstract art?
Thanks! No books that I know of. Mostly pulled tidbits from here and there over the years...hence the video.
In elementary school I was, along with a few other students, one of the best artists in my whole class.I would stay in indoors for recess some times just so I could work on a project. When the other kids would come back to class they would gather around my desk to see what I was doing.I got a lot of oohs and ahhs from the students.
'how do you that, it's amazing?
I would say "I don't know, I just do, it's a natural talent, I guess.'
Hope you have kept up with the art making!
I have, right now I have a deal with the local coffee shop and they're letting me display my paintings for sale.
It's my first time putting my art on display for the public to see.I hope it goes well.
Mostly abstract.
🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
Gracias!
You have to be an artist before you can be an abstract artist. You can't just make abstraction and hope it looks like a work of genius.
I agree to an extent. A mental visual recall library really helps too.
This is a good synopsis for rank beginners to understand. But in my own view, abstract art is best not approached by rank beginners because there is so much more they need to accomplish first. I have become so picky that I do not really like most of what passes for abstract art. The reason is because I feel that most of what we see as displayed abstract art is, in my estimation, produced to mask the artist's real deficiencies in important artistic skills. Most abstract art is presented as just mushing things around willy nilly, and seeking certain "happy accidents". And this wildness and lack of control is supposed to be seen as "creativity in action". I don't see it that way, but expect much more thought, and real ideas to be behind serious abstract art. Because we see so little of this is why there is so little abstract art I find worthy of appreciation. I'm afraid I take it far more seriously than most existing "abstract" artists do.
Appreciate your comment....hence the video to think more about composition strategy. I made it for my grade 6 art students.
@@FrankCurkovic Thanks for your reply. I have to realize that a lot of youtube art content is intended for young students. I wish that I had had the chance long ago to absorb good art content on youtube. But starting before the internet was another path altogether. Young artists today have many advantages.
Good point. To state it more positively many of these principles apply to any art style… so it doesn’t have to be abstract necessarily. I appreciate going over these types of videos because it keeps me anchored in the very basics that so many artists think are unnecessary and they go off on their own disappointing works…
Ez asf
Can be trickier than it looks sometimes too!
Downvoted because of the music.
Tutorials are enough on their own with the voiceover.
The music alienates a lot of people.
There are many who will be triggered by sensory overload from the visual, voice and music.
It's such a shame because it's an interesting video.
If I, or someone else doesn't mention it, then video creators aren't aware of the problem and can't do something to help in future videos.
To each their own I guess. Some tend to think the low background music is is necessary. Thanks for the comment.
