Made me think of tearing out pages of the poem definitions in Dead Poet Society. The academics must have their part. “I wanted power, so painted a flower.” “I wanted a bee, but it couldn’t see.”

Perfect!!! Clear and concise and FUNNY! Love humour in teaching. The one topic when I teach I feel I harp on alllll the time, yet feel it is the most important thing. I will share this video with my class. I too LOVE the Golden mean and find it is so amazing when I naturally do it without taking a measurement. So spooky. I love how clearly you describe it . 543211. Yes! I just play with the math. 1.618 is a great number… Fibonacci sequences so brilliant. Nature has many secrets. Thank you YOutube for finding you for me. Going down the rabbit hole now!!! Binge watch. Oh and I love that you embrace no rigidity. 🎉

Molly Bang's Picture This is recommended reading! What I enjoy so much about comp is that it connects all manfiestations of Gestalt, including all art. It's difficult not to think of Kandinsky's synaesthetic comparisons to sound. At that point, the question becomes not "how to guide the viewer's eye" anymore. Or, "how to convey your intention best." That's allowing a nonexistent third party in when we should be listening to our subtle responses to what we are putting down. It's hard-won discovery. Effectiveness or truthfulness seems like a better word - as soon as one leans into audience and pleasantry, it dies.
Just a thought. Alchemical and hermetical symbology is graphic representation of fundamental reality. Why is the symbol of the sun/self a circle with a dot in the center, if not because the egoic and non-egoic poles of the psyche, proximity and periphery, are to be seen in relation, make a whole? What is the lemniscate if not the simplest and clearest depiction of Enantiodromia, among other things . . . Mostly thinking of Jung in this case. So yey, composition. Woohoo.
