I think you're wrong. The "ordinary data" is specified, and the type of data allowed is not FSD relevant.
You are wrong about the latter. Tell us: what data is that exactly and why shouldn't it be autonomous level 5 (because the term fsd is meaningless) relevant?
you think you're smart but the Electric Viking is much, much smarter than you.

Less people dying on the road is a good thing, even a country like China wouldn’t deny that, keep up the great work Tesla ,cheers Sam 👍💪😉
LoL 😂
You don't know how advanced China's autonomous driving is, do you? Even a country like the United Snakes have to take note.
I would be interested to see if Musk starting fsd will boost the entire industry in China like it did when Musk started selling his cars there.
If there’s a lot of autonomous driving competition in China we’re gonna see a lot of progress really fast I believe.

This is wrong. The training data is not approved for transfer only business type data. No camera data. If you actually read the documents.
That is no longer the case.
in the past.
Training data is NOT approved is my understanding.
It's a funny world we live in, where ideologies can get flipped upside down. Sometimes countries that claim to be capitalist can resort to protectionist measures like tariffs, hindering competition. On the other hand, some communist nations might embrace market reforms to a certain extent. It's all about pragmatism, I guess! ^_^
You think China is Communist? You are naively funny..😂
nothing is related to political systems in this china move.
in the last century, cause of china suffering failure was isolation from the world.
so you can predict that china is open gradually.
Pragmatism? No. The reason for the United States to be protectionist is that the US is jealous and fearful of China's advancement in technology.
It's all about public misleading, smearing adversaries and white agenda for world domination, that simple
China is a special case. They don't trust china. If it was from any other countries (that doesn have clear beef with US) there wont be much push back agaisnt their product.
Thanks so much Sam.....Big news
Gina Raimondo's mind is going crazy trying to figure out the love relationship between Elon Musk and China
Its easy to figure out. China goverment treats Tesla better than US goverment. You can see how much easier it took to setup Giga Shanghai than Texas

Baidu starts offering nighttime driverless taxis
December 26, 2022
Starting this week, the public can ride its robotaxis in Wuhan between 7 am and 11 pm without safety drivers behind the wheel.
Previously, its unmanned vehicles could only operate from 9 am to 5 pm in the city.
The updated scheme is expected to cover one million customers in certain areas of Wuhan, a city of more than 10 million people. Like most autonomous vehicle startups, Baidu combines a mix of third-party cameras, radar and lidar to help its cars see better in low-visibility conditions, in contrast to Tesla’s vision-based solution.
In August, Baidu started offering fully driverless robotaxi rides, charging passengers at taxi rates.
In Q3, Apollo Go, the firm’s robotaxi hailing app, completed more than 474,000 rides, up 311% year over year.
Accumulatively, Apollo Go had exceeded 1.4 million orders as of Q3.

Supposing China actually did this they would require a reciprocal. This implies Elon Musk made promises he intends to keep with China without consulting the United States government. This also implies he is operating at a level above governments of the world. This is a very heady position to be in, so let’s hope he keeps his head together.
Probably yes

1) Permitting Tesla to transfer data for Full Self Driving doesn't mean that US will allow it.
2) Does the US network satisfy the minimum latency requirement for self driving
Referring to latency, I've been wondering about how it all works. I think it records the drive, then uploads it to the central server after the car is parked, at home, connected to the home wifi.
Afternoon mate
Great news
I did see a report says China permit data to transfer to the US for training. Only removes the restrictions for operational data
Does this include FSD data? I don’t think so..
For the auto sector, the data includes manufacturing information such as procurement and stockpile, research and development, after-sales services, and used car sales. The Shanghai government’s event on Friday included Tesla, Ford, and BMW, said a person with direct knowledge of the matter. The city government and the three companies did not immediately reply to Reuters’ requests for comments.
Seriously, get Revux now before it’s too late!
Nice. But I'd rather see an affordable $20k EV car available in the States.

I own 5088 shares of Tesla.
Sweet flex bro!

Congrats…. But I would not advertise that data to anyone.
Good for you dude but I wouldn't broadcast that information
You have 900k .. wrapped up into Tesla alone …and you have time to waste posting on RUclips? Hmmm.. not sure I buy that. If true.. good for you!
You tell us they only use 1 percent of the data anyway, so why does this data make a difference ?
If you look at this in the long term, cars are going to become a commodity. Sure EV’s are too expensive, particularly in the West, but that will change and there quickly won’t be much profit in this as there will be so many cheap good EV’s.
Much better to go the SaaS model, limit your physical cars to a few desirable profitable models and licence out your software whilst keeping control of it yourself. It’s an obvious model for the long-term, it just needs the tech to evolve to a point where it’s feasible.
Cheers mate
Number #8,8,8 sounded like FULL RICHNESS and PROSPERITY FOR TESLA and LOTS OF RED POCKETS MONEY FOR ELON !!!
😉💖⚡️🔋🌞💯🌏✌️
August 8th, 8/8 (or, 8/8 for those of us here in the U.S.), is auspicious for the Chinese, and Musk is notorious for his fondness for numerical references, like that time when the base price for a Model S was $69,420.
Concentrating on BTC and Revux, with a little ETH on the side.
Would be curious to know how different the driving is in china, vs EU, US, Australia, and other countries.
Moving everything into BTC and Revux. This presale is too good to ignore!
If this is true, then the US has no excuse to use that against Chinese EVs being imported into US. China's road infrastructure is more advanced and expansive than the US and this should contribute to Tesla's FSD development.
They can’t allow it. Ford Chevy. And dodge will all go under. Big oil will suffer. But your thinking is sound😊
By 2023 law in China robo taxi need at least remote operator , robo shuttles and robo trucks need in vehicle safety operator .
It's not the data transfer thats the problem, its US protecting its car makers as it has done since 1960s, when it was clear GM and Ford cant handle free market.
Example the ban of small pick ups in US, for "safety" reason, that goes out of window right a way, old war jeeps are allowed on US roads, no doors, no seat belt, no safety.
Will America, a shameless country, keep its promise?
America, the scoundrel, will not comply.
Tesla doesn’t make decisions for the US.
Change the subject revenue down 55%! Sales slowing talk about fsd….
I’m all about presales, and Revux tops my list. Early investment is key!
Great news Sam thanks for the update
How would the 100% tariff impact this?

China might allow data to the US, but will US allow it in ?!
This totally shocks me, China has an iron fist when it comes to data of any kind.
They want the FSD to copy it mostly for the robots(including military), for the first time in human history the GDP growth/workforce will be a “manufactured” and guess who has the highest manufacturing potential in the world. I will be very surprised if US government does not stop transfer such technology to China!!!

There is no pivot. This is a concession to reality. They hit a demand wall before even reaching 2 million annual sales. More importantly they likely concluded profitability would be difficult with a cheaper car. That is a concession not a pivot. These projects are not mutually exclusive.
Can’t wait for demand to skyrocket once FSD goes fully mainstream (out of beta) in US and China. I can’t see any other outcome than that.
People are heck tired of driving themselves to work in peak hour traffic wasting their lives away.
This could be a stupid question. Since FSD learns from people. If Chinese people drives recklessly, would FSD become more reckless? Or Perhaps the American data will overcome it and FSD will behave like an American driving in China.
Interesting Q. FSD will not copy bad driving. FSD learns by comparing the data /outcomes and analysing what actions will produce the best and safest result for a given situation.

People that have a functional brain will naturally build alliances with Elon.
Actually people asking for the steering wheel nag to go away may not like the result. Which will be that the internal camera will constantly require your eyes to be on the road. No more looking away for more than a couple of seconds and that only when there is no traffic around.
In other words you will have to be even more alert with your eyes on the road..... which might be more tiring on long trips than just having your hands hang on the wheel.
All these RUclipsrs with their showing routes and such on the map screen will find life difficult with this change.
Maybe - but perhaps it will be more subtle and nuanced than that. Ai presents some opportune ways of solving this problem creatively.
The only other thing more boring than an electric car would be an electric car that drives itself. I’ve rented EVs in 3 different countries and I’ve honestly tried to get excited about them but I just found them to be bland, lacking character and a bit boring to drive. But that’s just me, my friends have EVs and despite range issues are reasonably happy with their choice.
True AI does not need much data. If you have to rely on data for AI to work, that AI is constructed in interpolative mode. It knows within the boundaries of dataset but not beyond, aka the edges problems.
As a human being, I could be in Timbuktu for the very first time and I can drive on any roads in Timbuktu without any prior knowledge ( dataset) of any roads of Timbuktu.
That is because I can recognize what a drivable surface is with seemingly very small set of facts and data. Simply put, we extrapolate from facts of a small dataset when we encounter some unknown circumstances.
It seems to me the large part of population has very bad conception of what AI or AGI is and falling for “large set of data” AI. And worse, they keep talking about it.
420, 69, Numbers matter.
I have to admit that's a huge surprise to me. Why is China so cooperative with Tesla, especially after the US announced 100% EV tariffs for China?
I'd love to have the missing information that could explain this.
Their economy is crumbling and foreign firms are moving out. They need whatever they can get now so are becoming more willing to bend their old rules.
Lol @@PelleGIT
@@PelleGITaccording to IMF, their economy is growing at about 5% in 2024. Despite the speculation from the media mainly from the US, it can hardly be called crumbling especially ours is only at about 1% growth....

China simply doesn't relate Elon with the US government. Good for them
musk is always trying to be the first but never have plans for scaling (solar roof, 4680, tesla energy, truck etc) he just wants to be recognized. the same with AI driving, he will probably be the first, but i bet you that he won't be the guy to industrialize it, the man child wll already be playing with some different and more shiny toys. All he does is dropping a ball, catch another one, no focus at all. Even the viking recognize that the goal of Tesla is not producing cars anymore and all it has become is a gamble. AI agent won't need a lot of data to drive correctly, 20 hours of video like any human and a text book will be enough in 2-3 years, mark my word
i remember years ago a electrical engineer saying Ai was total bs its just a scare mongering tactic because ALL electrical components are physically programmed (algorithms) or mechanisms e.g. proximity sensors. I'm not buying into all this Ai bs talk especially when 95% of the talk is coming from Elon Musk a known conman. i know a little bit how all electronics work and Ai is TOTAL BS
Oh jesus.
This is False. FSD data is still locked in China. Kernel of truth / rumor source: Limited data approved for transfer includes things like number of vehicles produced / VINs, vehicle configurations, R&D schematics, etc. (That's right: Until now, none of the R&D in China could be exported at all.)
The people of China must considered Elon as one of their own. He essentially made EVs possible.
They are going to have more data than God.
Some may consider the Chinese generally to be atheist, but they must believe in the supernatural if superstitions count as such.
Is it possible Elon does not know the meaning of 88, politically? He should stay away from that, even tho 8 is the Chinese lucky number.
Totally profit orientated now-people's car is fading in the rear view mirror!!!
