Pistol work on the range

- Another range day snippet!
We noticed that some of the homies were struggling with getting a better grip on the pistol. They were trying to muscle the gun rather than letting technique prevail. Please keep in mind these videos were totally shot on the spot and not scripted so the angle and audio arent the best. Of course the priority of the range day was to train and learn from one another so recording wasnt the priorty.
Enjoy the video!

Mojo is the most underrated shooter/instructor on social media!
Definitely.. ✌️
100% agreed

POV: Imagine, it’s 2021. You’re a random tiny pebble, out in some gravel, in Washington. You’re enjoying a front row seat to some range practice with mojo on a sunny day, intently listening in on gripping the handgun, if only you could apply these skills.
sorry, but I can't relate
The difference in recoil control for the first guy in the span of what, 30 seconds? Holy shit Mojo. You’re the man.
Mojo IS what EVERY police academy/gun instructor dreams of having! Clear, relaxed! Concise and easy to understand and he talks TO YOU, not down to you. He approaches every single person on a level that you feel he’s equal and not better then you. 8 hrs with mojo is like 5 years of education. 👍🏼🙏🏽
The way Mojo shoots it looks so effortless, Makes me want to train more
Mojo's recoil control when he rapid fires his handguns is so satisfying.
I wish the camera was bit closer, so I get a better view of what you are doing
Check Garand thumbs channel there is a whole video on recoil control with mojo
Can also check John Lovell (Warrior Poet Society), the technique he is describing Lovell did a specific video on - Weird Trick that Works, or something, where you counter rotate your wrists from your elbows (what the thumbnail shows).

on the link about 4:45 part of his explaination is on there.
SUCH GOOD TIPS!!! WE NEED MORRRRREEEEEE!
Love your content, I'm legitimately doing dryfire drills as i got your notification! Stay frosty!
The people elect Milspec_Mojo to quit his job and teach us. WE WILL SUPPORT YOU!
Your skills are absurd and I mean that as a tremendous compliment. Insane.
This was really the best explanation for achieving a good grip with the pistol and it was only a 5-minute video. It would really make my dream come true to shoot with Mojo.
Mojo in a 5 min video you just helped me self diagnose my grip issue and why I feel like my left hand falls off/moves. Your always taught to keep skin as far away from moving parts but in this instance it’s a non issue. God bless you brother.
Thanks MOJO! You explain things in a way I actually can understand and implement them to better my skills significantly. Keep the knowledge flowing!
I've recently started watching your videos and trying some of the things you're teaching other people. It's been a huge help. Hopefully one day I can train in person with you.
I’ve seen Mojo is several videos. I liked this video before watching it. He has exceptional skill; great humility (less ego than almost every skilled person in anything that I’ve seen); and he has a great personality that is very approachable and personable.
Very commendable. 👍🏼
Excellent content. You need a tripod or cameraman. I want to see exactly what you're doing. Thank you for posting; valuable information.
Same!! Such good information and instruction but visual would be that next level!!
I volunteer as tribute. I’m in the area anyway.
Great video! I can't wait to try some of these tips.
This is one of the most informative videos I have seen on grip and recoil control. I wish you had a helmet cam or over the shoulder cam so I could see the hands up close bro.
You are an awesome trainer!! They are lucky to have tips and instructions from ya!
This is an outstanding video. When this channel grows and he can get himself a cameraman, it's going to really blow up.
Awesome Man! great vid as always
What an awesome opportunity to train with Mojo!!
Wrist lock / wrist tension is very underated aspect of shooting most instructors dont talk much about.I learned it from Ron Avery many years ago taking one of his classes.Mojo definitely is a excellent instructor.
GREAT TRAINING KIND AND INTELLIGENT! LOVE IT, BROTHER! PASSING ON THE EXPERIENCE AND KN0WLEDGE!
You're channel and information is amazing
Went out yesterday after watching this several times tried this method and bam got the best scores of my life in my group I’m know as a the worst shot but I amazed everyone even on the move thanks mojo I was thinking bout getting out of game but this changes everything got that fire again just got to put in more reps hard though with this ammo shortage
When I set out this past year on really learning handgun the support hand wrist is where it's at. When you don't do the position alot it begins to feel unnatural again. That's how I can tell if I am not dry firing enough. Great instruction. A+
I've been teaching this stuff for a while and you'd think i'd be bored of simple lessons like this with grip and such things, but damn can he shoot and it's fun as hell to watch.
Mojo for President 🇺🇸
We need more ! We need more!
Awesome stuff! That was a good 6 shots a second at least!
Perfect Video Mojo
Mojo is the man!!!
Literally learned all this shit just from watching him and Travis Haley love this!!!
Great block of instruction
Post more often Mr. Mojo, your pretty bad ass. Great videos great skills!
great video,keep going !
Mojo's rapid fire .. omg
Love it 💯
Brother, that is one of enlightening videos, excellent excerpt on grip, sadly a bit too far in distance taken video. I wish you can make one video on grip, trigger and stance. Busting myths is great i. e. finger on ledge stop the cycling. Great video thank. Great tip on the direction of bent of the elbow of the shooting hand. Thank you. Keep rocking. 🙏❤️🙏✌️💡🇺🇸🙏
@milspec_Mojo Please, come in switzerland and teach me things like that !
Thank you for all your content !
Fantastic!
Good work brother all about comtrol
Mojo Rocks 👍👍
Has anybody said he needs a tripod yet? 🤣
I always get scared laying my thumb on the slide as well! I’m going to try that at too
Master of no recoil!!!
Awesome video. Any chance you might be willing to shoot a close up segment on the grip stuff you were just talking about so we can see exactly what you are doing with it?
Man I wish that camera is capturing that hand grip. This too good not to be recorded close!
What’s up Mojo! Would there be anyway I could go shoot with you and get some feed back? It would be awesome to get instruction! Keep up the great work and thank you for what you do brotha!
night and day difference🤯
Personally I like that a lot of his videos aren't like a production.
1. Your videos are great, love them. Can you post a left and right picture of how you are gripping and holding your pistol with the right hand (right side picture) with the wrist bent & locked the way you are showing them? and of the left hand and where is gripping and thumb is being placed?
2. Where can I find that awesome cummerbund you have on your plate carrier?
Wizard Mojo
Mojo can you please make a video on the way you grip the gun talking and showing the viewers... you are my favorite instructor just hard to keep up and understand when you are showing another person in the video
more!!!!
Awesome videos have you ever had support hand thumb go numb? I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue
This title is exactly what I need to practice more. But 9mm you so essspensive right now.
Mojo please do a pov of showing us how to grip it as you was teaching him.
Mojo, can we see a close up of both the strong hand and support hand on the firearm?
Great high grip I try to instruct to grip that high and most people are scared to get their thumb cheese grated on the slide
Hey Mojo, I always find my self coming back to this video. I have a question about left handed shooters. So on one of your points you talk about getting your non dominant hand high and your thumb up on the slide. But with being left handed, my thumb interferes with the ejection port. Is there a tip that you have that can possibly allow my hand to still get that high without getting in the way??
I think a basic gun grip video would be amazing, I mean experienced shooters seem to be enlightened by this guy.
Love when mojo takes your gun, burns all your ammo and shoots it better than you do. 😂😂😂
Do you teach classes? I'm fairly sure you're not from my area but it is impressive some of the diagnosing you've done in this, and other, videos.
He would be a great Instructor for me. He really dumb things down. And I’m at the doi doi 🤤 lvl.
What are your thoughts about a finger on the trigger guard?
Would've loved you at my range yesterday!
Would love to see
A close up of what your doing here.
Mojo come to Michigan I need training haha
MORE VIDS! Couldn't see what was really going on in Detail
Think its a understood that a grip tutorial on your channel would be a great idea.
anyone know which holster mojo is using? i cant seem to find one for a glock 19 that can support rmr sight and a flash light? any suggestions?
Could you do a close up video or instructor video on how to grip the gun correctly. I see you did it here but the other gentleman got in front of the camera and blocked the view. Thanks Mojo I learn a lot from your channel.
i always thought the way I hold my sidearm was wrong. However mojo holds it the same way I do. Suck it academy I'm not the only one who finds it more comfortable and more efficient to hold it like that.
Mojo: what do you think about a body camera on your vest, so people can see what you’re doing with your hands, when teaching people? There’s 360° cameras the size of GoPro as well, so that you don’t worry about getting the right pitch angle.
Damn...
would it be worth slowing the cadence while teaching? seems faster then necessary.
Can you do a close up on the "ledge" that your support thumb is on
“Ledge” Is a generous term. It’s more of a reference point for your support thumb to get the same grip every time. It really offers no downward support to control muscle rise.
You should use a head mount so we can see what you see!!
He has a video with Garand Thumb where he gets in depth and the camera is closer up.
MOJO my man you need a tripod!
The support hand elbow bends kind of sideways and is a little higher than the shooting hand/arm elbow, right? Cant really see from this angle
Step 1: Put the gun in the correct hand. 😂
What plate carrier set up are you running? Would make a good video if you broke that down.
Yo is their any benefit to you if I complete the RUclips surveys before your videos? or is that some cap and I should just skip them?
please mount that go pro on your head or something. it'd be really nice to see what you're looking at, especially on this video with the thumb position.
What duty belt do you use and why?
Can u have someone film this so we can see . Be cool to see a more detailed view of the hands. I do try to get as high as possible
Check out his collaboration with Garand Thumb on recoil control. The camera is closer up and he goes more in depth.
🤙
@Mojo. I live in the south Puget Sound and I am looking for training and education about my current pistol and my future personal home defense selection. How can I get in contact with you? Thank you for your videos
how does someone get in contact with mojo?
Hey mojo my I’m right dominant, my issue is that the slide is cutting my right thumb? I noticed in the video that you briefly were asked if you thumb ever gets caught up. Cause I have my thumb does and I thought I had proper hand placement but I’m not sure anymore. Could you do a video or let me know where my primary hand and thumb should be placed so it doesn’t get cut.
I believe that the thumb is to be used as a guide with less pressure.
Take care,
Be safe.
Who's your ammo dealer? I might need the hook up
👍
How can I get a lesson from you
Mojo.. Teach me please?
Youre doing all the shooting, while teaching...😮
Hey Mojo, what shooting glasses are you wearing? Thanks
Shades from magpul bro!
@@milspec_mojo Thank you!!! =D
It seems like when I try to get really high up on my Glock 19 (gen 5 FWIW), my hand either holds down the slide release and it doesn't lock back on empty or my hand accidentally pushes up on the slide release while firing and creates malfunctions.
Any idea what to do to rememdy this...?
Had that issue when I first started, only thing I did to correct was more awareness and just reps of cycling the weapon. Like it's said, building consistency. Just making sure I wasn't in contact with the release unless I intended to be.
Interested in hearing if anyone else has response, though. More info is always good.
Still having that issue or you got it sorted out?
