I spent most of my career in Pearl. Admirals don't like to be shown how woefully unprepared their commands are to face an unconventional threat. Commander Marcinko rubbed a lot of them the wrong way when he demonstrated to them that terrorists won't play by the rules. My opinion is that he was seriously under appreciated in his time. Legend.

I agree but man he had the most fun job that a Navy SEAL could ever have. If I recall correctly I was watching a video about how they took over a nuclear sub. He was basically allowed to do whatever he wanted. If I were a seal I'd rather do that then be freezing in the water or sitting in a base in iraq or Afghanistan hot all day getting shot at and blown up. He was essentially playing military chess but with low risk and he was really good at it.(I'm referring to the red cell where they tried to infiltrate American bases) I know he did have to go through some crappy deployments. But can you imagine if a bank manager calls you and says hey I want you to see if you could Rob my bank. How would you do it? Then we'll debrief and adjust security accordingly.

I took a tour of Norfolk Naval Base by bus as a marching band chaperone. We weren’t allowed to take photos of the ships and were about 200 yards away. Later we took a charter cruise in the harbor and we took all the photos we wanted from about the same distance. Looking at the small boats around ours, I wondered how many have GRU/FSB agents scoping out the ships.

I believe in the Red Cell mission and how it never should of been terminated. Americans need to realize the real threats we have. Leave the politics out of what works. I grew up around the type of facilities Dick mentioned. I use to accidentally bounce my fishing weight’s off the nuclear ☢️ subs in Point Loma California. If that tell’s you how easy it was to get that close. I understand exactly what he expressed in the interview. Because I witnessed it physically while I was living in California. Great 👍 job Brother

COs don’t believe that certain things are possible. Good attackers don’t believe that certain things are impossible. My partners and I got into places that were wide freaking open. One training officer was stupefied to come into a “SECRET”facility and find us studying classified material (that we were there to learn anyway). She had been at the only entrance to the facility that she was aware of, waiting on us to arrive and be ushered into the area we were studying in. We were subsequently invited by the base CO to show him how we had accomplished our feat. We shared our way and pointed out numerous other ways that the same thing could be accomplished. He was counting on being on a remote island as security but he hadn’t bothered examining his security measures through the eyes of someone who really wanted inside.

I told people I would test their network security on "day X". They didn't allow network access that day; but didn't count on my security being cleared the day before and run for an entire week. I sent happy smiley faces to many "head honchos" making their CD player slide in/out. After the 9/11 attack, I recommended the Corporation send a very hot woman through security, without the right credentials, seducing her way to the CEO's office and leaving a voided blank check, wiith signature, under his keyboard.

-Thou hast not to like it-thou hast just to do it.
-Thou shalt Keep It Simple, Stupid.
    -Thou shalt never assume.
-Verily, thou art not paid for thy methods, but for thy results, by which meaneth thou shalt kill thine enemy before he killeth you by any means available.
