  • We had a field Marshall show up at our antique tractor pulls and I figured some of y’all might want to learn how they are started using the shotgun shell method. You can also hand crank them, but let’s face it the shotgun method is just way too cool!!

As a Brit I spent many hours as a kid riding with my uncle on a Field Marshall crawler. The unmistakable sound of that single cylinder engine could be heard a long way off. Classic, thank you to all involved.

Thanks for watching - I’ve never seen a crawler in person only a couple wheeler tractors.

Morning Ed - thanks for watching, it was something to see in person alright, that’s why I figured I better get a little video made of how they are started.

Now that's a great idea for a shotgun shell instead of killing things!

Is the shotgun shell a blank? If not, where does the shot and wad etc go? Thanks for sharing.
