*Trip Report* Delta Airlines Boeing 717-200 Flight Charlotte to Atlanta

On June 9, 2023 I flew for my very first time in over 11 years and got to experience flying on Delta’s iconic 717-200 from Charlotte to Atlanta!
It was amazing getting to experience the 717 for the first time and I’m so glad to have gotten to experience it before these aircraft soon meet their retirement in the years to come!
The particular 717 I flew on for this 8:52AM flight from Charlotte Douglas Int’l Airport to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Int’l Airport, was N946AT which is a 24 year old 717 that was formerly owned by AirTran and was actually the Baltimore Ravens Logojet from 2009-2013 when it was flying for AirTran. It became part of Deltas fleet around 2016 and is currently still used by Delta.
Delta is the number 1 operator for the 717 and is currently 1 of 2 operators still flying the 717 with the other being Hawaiian Airlines! Qantas also still flys the 717 but they will be fully retiring it by the end of 2023.
The 717 is such an amazing aircraft to fly on and I hope Delta keeps the aircraft in its fleet past the the year 2025 (the current year planned for its retirement). Unfortunately Delta only operates the 717 to a certain number of airports throughout the US but the best place to fly on one is definitely Atlanta! The 717 is definitely an aircraft all aviation enthusiasts should get the experience to fly one 😁!

Awesome flight on B717-200 N946AT. I hope you had an awesome flight onboard B717-200 N946AT #Angry Puppies. The only airports that delta flies their B717-200 aircrafts is Detroit, Minneapolis/Saint Paul & Atlanta. I love B717-200s my number one favorite aircraft.
