Ah, the 717. The staple aircraft of my childhood. Countless times I have done CAK-MCO and MEM-ATL-CAK and back. I even flew on AirTran’s Brewers Livery.
717 fan here get to fly them south out of Harrisburg or Allentown for connections in Atlanta, did the flight to MCO from Harrisburg on AirTran when they were around too. Love this bird over many of the newer aircraft, feels like a mad dog on the take off.
Rode a 717-200 plane over this past weekend Delta PVD to DTW and back. Was mildly concerned that these planes seem older. However, have to say it was a very comfortable plane and flight even had refreshments served. The engine sound is pretty neat. Had Wi-Fi for purchase was the only bummer. But I knew that going in so loaded the tablet with a couple of shows beforehand.
I’m amazed that CLT is the busiest 717 route for Delta. Such a random place to send so many 717s! Great video as always, it’s great we still have these dawgs still flying around.
Haven’t flown on Delta 717s but I flew 2200 flights on AirTran while I was employed there. I got absorbed into SWA. The 717 is my heart and I miss it so much.
Nice video as usual! It was awesome to see that you had so many empty seats in the area where you sat! Nothing like being able to spread out on an airplane where normally you are squished in like sardines! I use Delta Airlines at least twice every summer for my annual summer vacations. I also fly on this aircraft at least twice during those journeys. ATL is the main hub for Delta Airlines as you may know. This past month I flew to Melbourne, Florida (MLB) out of Ontario Airport in Southern CA. I catch my connecting flight to Florida out of ATL. They routinely used this aircraft and I have never been dissatisfied with their performance or their comfort. I love flying on this plane! Despite its age, it still has it where it counts and that's what important to me! In August, I will be flying via Delta to Wilmington, NC, once again connecting out of ATL by way of the Boeing 717! Can't wait!
I used to live abt 2 hrs from clt, used to take the md88 and 737-700 on this route (2017-2019). Since I moved to Atlanta, I no longer go through clt and miss it
I take it your home airport is MCO by the channel name. For future reference we have multiple daily B717 flights to ATL from the space coast over here at MLB. Just in case you weren’t aware.
My shortest flight was on a 717 from Maui to Honolulu which was only 10-20 mins but my second shortes was on a caravan from bethel to hooper bay which was 20-30 mins and it was amazing to go on both of those planes

I have flown the MD88 a few years ago,got lucky and flew the B727 2 weeks before its retirement! My next challenge is to fly the 717 out of Tlh too Atl.
Thank you for including the aircraft registration number.

My first plane ride ever was on AirTrans 717, of which delta now owns. Ill never forget those engine sounds.
wow so cool!
Same here too
I've flown the Delta 717 many times. It's a great bird and a very underappreciated aircraft; except of course, those who actually operate it.
I took this exact route for my internship just last week. I love the 717 so I spoke to the pilot and he gave me a 717 collectors card!
sounds super cool!
Wow, what is a collector’s card?
@@WeMuckAround They're just little trading cards that have a photo of and specs about the plane. you can google Delta trading cards :)
Holy moly, I’m gonna ask for that as well!
I flew one yesterday Ord Msp.I love those engines.
Same here!

I agree on the mad dog resemblance for sure
And Delta has just opened a SkI hyClub there. WooHoo!

i was surprised too, and it’s not just from ATL as well….. anyways thank you bro and likewise 💪🏽
It’s not random. CLT is a busy airport for connections.

Oh wow! You should definitely get on one soon before they’re retired!

12:39 They’re not in the air for that long to warrant a drink service in economy on this route.
Good to know!
Awesome video!! I hope it was a good flight! I was just there!
Hope you enjoyed it!

I’ll look into it!
I’m flying on one of these next month and had to look it up because it seems like such a unique plane - I was right!
Sounds like fun! Have a good time!

Just a rocket ship. Love that aircraft.
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I need to book a DL 717 next time im in the US.
You definitely should, it is worth the joy ride!
I flew an AirTran 717 from Pensacola to Atlanta in 2010 or there about…
Nice!

Thank you so much for the kind words i appreciate it so much !
How could you stand all of that noise?
never seen the 717 in person but would love to fly in it or at least see it here in lax
You definitely should try to fly one soon it is worth it!
The plane that landed in this video was a different plane than the one that took off in this video…
No it was the same plane!
@@aviationmco You’re right! I didn’t see the static wicks on takeoff, but I see them now. Thank you for the correction!,
