The great news is that the Dodgers found an ace pitcher to lead them to a World Series victory. Go Yoshi!

Yoshi was the demon Samurai I hoped for. Great to see how he rewarded Doc and the Dodgers with the faith they showed in him.

Yamamoto with the biggest start of his career and he delivered. But the real MVP of the series was the bullpen. They were incredible espcially the last two games!! 8 more to go!!! Dodgers and Padres a true rivalry now!!

Looks like everything that happened in game 3 seemed to light a fire in them. They definitely came out with a different type of energy the last two games. I'm happy I was wrong about them. Big props to the bullpen

Mr. Dave Roberts has completely separated himself from the rest of the pack. The last two games were a masterclass of managing. Dave went with his experience, instinct and guts to win games. He went with Yamamoto because he believe in his #1 starting pitcher. What more can anyone asked from a manager?
Yamamoto proved to all the haters and doubters wrong tonight. He pitched a near perfect 5 innings, wish he stayed to 7th but he didn't need to. He earned his paycheck tonight boys and girls.
Shohei and Mookie didn't show up tonight, that's okay there's always the Mets series. Sho and Mookie showed up in game 1 and game 4 respectively.
Dodgers might be going places this year.

People think it's an either or with analytics and game-feel/gut. It's both, and that's what makes it sooooo difficult. And even then it might not work out. But this pen is JUST so freaking nails and they did the job they drew up; doing up-downs, getting extra outs. And yeah, I think a lot of us saw Yoshi being lights out for 5 and thinking he could go out for more, but at the same time, it's always better to get ahead of the bad inning than pull out as soon as it starts. To be proactive instead of reactive. With this pen, it really felt like you could do no wrong though. Those guys are dawgs.
26man and Dave and the fans won this series. Nervous, but never doubted them!

@@ryanc9876 the Dodgers bullpen turned out to be the winning factor. Using 8 pitchers from the bullpen in game 4 was gutsy, but what other choice did Dave have? Yamamoto wasn't ready and Cease proved it.
Let see if this winning formula can continue with the Mets.

@@ryanc9876 he didn't have enough rest, he lasted 1.2 in game 4.

@@jackyshin3045 Yeah that's definitely true and was a big mistake if you ask me--and probably a ton of others. Although I don't quite know where that came from exactly. Yamamoto wasn't ready? You mean for game 4? Again; agreed but that's because of injury earlier limiting how far they want to let him go as well as their rest plan for him. He is a long term investment after all. And I liked that they pulled him out, but not because of his rest, as he was on his usual extra day of rest, but because of the strength of the pen, keeping the Padres off balance, and not letting them get an inkling of hope. Masterclass dismantling of the Padres.

That bullpen was lights out. Phillips, Kopech, Treinen, Hudson, Vesia, Banda, and Brasier should be coMVP's of the series. Hope Vesia is ok and Brusdar is ready to go for next series.

From where I feel more confident/hopeful they'll reach the WS:
    1. Mookie starting to believe again, 2. Walker finding that old dawg in him, 3. Yoshinobu getting rid of his game 1 nervousness, 4. Now they know they can win by batting AND they can win by pitching, 5. They DO have fight and grind, 6. Roberts is having, imo, his best managerial playoffs

Check out the Locked on Padres broadcast from 21 hours ago (before the game); the guy was great - so honest and intuitive. He predicted the Dodgers would win and that Yamamoto would be great. Said he didn't see a world in which the Dodgers would lose this first round three years in a row.

This should quieten those fans, at least for awhile, who think manager Dave Roberts isn’t capable of taking a talented and injury-riddled team into the postseason and having a measure of success. In my opinion, should the NEW YORK METS defeat the DODGERS in the N.L. Championship Series, I believe Andrew Friedman & Co. would be foolish to relieve “Doc” of his job. However what do I know; I’ve only watched this great game of BASEBALL for more than 65 years ?!!! Let's go DODGERS 2024 !!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️
