What do you think of this proposal to the Sox, Lux, Pages, Cartaya, maybe even Stone, a top 5 prospect and a top 20-30 prospect? It's a lot to give up but it clears a lot of spaces on the 40 man roster and, I feel, it's an offer that would be hard for the White Sox to refuse.

    Reports are that the Dodgers are interested in Corbin Burnes. Of course, who knows that these reports are true. I personally feel like you do that. The Dodgers should go after Snell first and try and get him. If not, then they can go after Burnes seriously.

  • @johndurrer7869
    @johndurrer7869 23 часа назад

    Looks like he won’t be a dodger. Oh well, I think he’s overrated anyways. His health is a massive issue and MLB hitters tend to struggle with Japanese pitchers because they have a large pitch mix that keeps them off balance. Roki doesn’t have that. He has two above average pitches and everything he throws is hard. Hitters will sit on his fastball and take the splitter,which he rarely throws for a strike. I predict he has an ERA over 4.00, and he gives up 25-30 home runs if he pitches 150+ innings. He will never be an ace level pitcher if he doesn’t learn a change up or curve. A change up also is the safest pitch to throw, which it seems like he wouldve learned by now considering he has never had a healthy season even while only pitching once a week

    • @ryanc9876
      @ryanc9876 23 часа назад

      I have no idea why you're eating the media narrative that he won't be a Dodger. They did the same thing with Ohtani and Yamamoto. Saying they wanted to make their own team etc. He's not overrated, he's a top tier prospect. But I do agree that he might likely be injured and might come over injured. But the investment would be low so I doubt any team would worry about that. But if it helps you sleep at night so you're not worried if he is or isn't a Dodger, then by all means.

    • @johndurrer7869
      @johndurrer7869 22 часа назад

      @ You don’t explain how I’m wrong, just saying he’s a “top tier Prospect” doesn’t mean anything. He isn’t being touted as a top tier prospect, he is being touted as the best pitcher in the world. He doesn’t have the pitch mix that typically causes MLB hitters issues with Japanese pitchers. MLB hitters love to sit on the fastball. The more pitches a pitcher has the harder it is to sit on the fastball. He is definitely a great prospect. And if he can stay healthy and learn a change up he very well might be the best pitcher in the world one day. But he is not a finished product like Yamamoto and Ohtani (as a pitcher) was when coming over. The good news for the Dodgers could be the fact that they are the best team in baseball at teaching the change up. But it seems like he has already made his mind up that he’s going to the Padres.

    • @ryanc9876
      @ryanc9876 22 часа назад

      @@johndurrer7869 Who said he's the best pitcher in the world? The whole thing is he's a top tier talent, not a top tier pitcher. The price is what makes him a top pitching free agent. If anything, that's the what's wrong. Just what he's being viewed as. I just don't see where you're getting "he's going to be a Padres" from either. Because of Darvish? Yamamoto and Ohtani both idolize Darvish too, but they didn't go to San Diego. I'm not saying he's not going, but it doesn't make as much sense to go to San Diego, and it for sure makes no sense to think he's made up his mind when there's basically no indications of his desires other than money not being the factor. The complaining this year. Soto is Ted Williams (Great and bad) his fWAR is insane for someone not yet in his prime. He goes to right. Betts to second and Lux traded. Soto is replacing Lux in the lineup. You keep him away from Mets Padres or Yankees. You do not want to face him in the post season. He gives the Dodgers 4 hall of famers and if they dominate for 10 years the Dodgers organization doubles in value from 5 billion to 10 billion (the real reason the owners sign players and want to win). If he was a bad teammate or caused bad team chemistry you think the Yankees would be offering 600 million? Can the Dodgers afford him. Yup it's 600 million over 14 years. Btw, do you guys know if they can send players to the minors now or they have to wait until spring training?

      There are no minor league rosters right now, but that's okay because there's also no 26-man major league roster so there's no need to send anyone to the minors. It's just the 40-man roster right now until the season starts.

      @@LockedOnDodgers of course there's not....geesh, what was I thinking. So the question was more because they have only 2 roster spots with 4 guys to resign plus the Roki possibility and the Fried talk (not to mention teh Soto/Adames which, personally, would prefer them not to, or at least not until running out of other options). So they need to make some trades before this or at least simoultaneosly

      Well, they can DFA and/or non-tender guys to open up spots. In fact, apparently today Connor Brogdon passed through waivers and was outrighted off the 40-man roster. There are a couple more possibilities for that type of move. But yeah, I expect some trades, too. Especially because there are also a few guys they need to add to the 40-man roster to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft.

      @@LockedOnDodgers Exactly, Rule 5 also plays an important role. I thought about the DFA but I think of it (in many cases, not all) as a real waste of players. Hope they do make some trades. Thanks guys!!

    Agreed: yes on Treinen, Teo, Kiké and Walker. No on Joe and Jack.... as for CT3, sadly, it's time to move from him. The roster needs a crunch and the farm system needs to be unclogged, that makes even more difficult to simply retain Taylor.

    I need Chris Taylor and Walker Buehler back for their Star Wars bobblehead figuers. CT3PO and SkyWalker Buehler would go hard. Theyd be a nice addition to my collection with Orel wan Kenobi, Hyun Jin Solo, and Kenley Calrissian
