Miguel Rojas put in the work in the offseason. Played in the Valenzuelan baseball league and helped his team win a championship. I think thats why we are seeing him reap the benefits
It’s too early to panic. However, it’s not too early to assess the problems with the Dodgers’ offense and pitching. When they get good pitching, the offense is dormant. When they get hits, the pitching can’t hold a lead.
Michael Busch ABSOLUTELY 💯 will be the Dodgers NEXT Paul Konerko 💙 good job Dodgers trading him away for a roster spot when you could have DFA'D VESIA!!!
I'm not convinced that Lux is worth it. Vargas isn't a realistic option anymore because he wasn't good defensively at 2b and hasn't had many reps (if any) since being moved to LF last season. Trey Sweeney and Rojas are probably the only in house options. I wouldn't be opposed to either of them taking playing time away from Lux. I also think the FO would prefer that a cost controlled option fill the slot.
So far, Ohtani has 49 plate appearances with runners on base and has 1 homer and 7 rbi. He is 1 for 19 with runners in scoring position. With the bases empty he is hitting .465 and has an OPS of 1.361. Imagine if he was hitting with runners on the way he is hitting with the bases empty. Last year he hit .327 with runners on and .284 with the bases empty, so hopefully this is just an early season aberration.
It isn't ohtani's job to carry the whole team everyone needs to pull their own weight that's why the Dodgers win often when everyone clicks the lineup the rotation and the bullpen
@@Mr1stcat I don't recall stating that it was his job to carry the team, but he has been drastically underperforming with men on base and the statistics bear that out.
@@Mr1stcat well I could point out the bottom of the order like everyone else, but the reason I pointed out Ohtani's futility with men on base is because it is obscured by an overall good batting average. A good batting average can camouflage poor production. Everyone can look at Chris Taylor and Gavin Lux and see their batting averages and see how poorly they have performed, but the expectations for them is also quite a bit lower.
I agree with your sentiment. Ohtani will get his RBI’s in due time. It all equals out by the end of the season. Prior to the beginning of the season, Ohtani’s slug with RISP is among the best.
Dodgers NEED TO Manufacture runs 🏃♂️ 😤 bunt, steal, double steals, hit and run 🏃♀️ Get them on, get them over and get them in!!! Dodgers just love the 3 run Homer's! Reds and Diamondbacks play small ball and have had a great success with this 👏 👌 👍
Or more steal bases like outman, taylor who are struggling at plate, when lasorda was skipper, I love his aggressiveness on base pad, more stolen base, double steal, hit n run, advance runner to avoid double play, how many dodger players bunt or play manufacture runs sometimes needed instead of swinging for upper level homerun or lazy fly out
Outman has 20 strikeouts. His 30.8% K rate is a little lower than last year. Teoscar, Muncy, and Taylor are all quite a bit higher. And Outman's K rate is only 21.7% over his last eight games.
Send Gavin Lux SUX Home to Wisconsin where he is from when you send him to the Brewers for Willy Adamas and Devin Williams!!! Other prospects would be involved in this trade deadline deal!
This is a general comment, not focused on your broadcast today, but motivated most strongly by the Locked On Dodgers postgame program. Frankly it is a horrible show. The host seems less concerned about how the Dodgers did than he is about how his bets did, which he emphasizes repeatedly. He is cavalier, careless and makes many mistakes - this last show he said Michael Kaye had retired as Yankee announcer rather than John Sterling (eventually someone corrected him). He contradicts himself - on this last show he said he wished Ohtani had struck out trying for a home run rather than hitting a single; then later he said he was impressed that Ohtani had shortened up on the bat to get the single. I know you have no control over who is hired for this program - maybe it was hard to find someone who would do it - but you should realize it devalues your brand. When one searches for Locked On Dodgers that show seems to come up first, which will certainly discourage new listeners.
Anderson has only been slightly better offensively this year than last year. The defense is better than last year, but he's still a major downgrade from what the Dodgers currently have.
Over 1.3 Billion dollars 💸 💵 💲 🤑 💰 💱 💸 💵 spent and the Dodgers are still a very FLAWED team!!!! How Sad 😔 Dodgers have some Soul searching to do!!! Dodgers should hold a team meeting for today following extra practice 👍

It was nice meeting you at the game on Monday. I said hello and told you how much I enjoyed your podcast

What else do the Reds and DBacks have in common? Worse record than the Dodgers!
Dodgers can’t Always slug their way to victory. Guys that have speed should bunt to get out of slumps.

They know but andrew fraudmen has a big ego so won't make a move
Send Gavin Lux to the Marlins for Luis Arrauz or Jazz Chisholm Jr

If Gavin Lux, James Outman and Chris Taylor are still struggling come Mid May then something Must be done ✔️ 😉 🙄
Lux defense is shit as well, couldn't even make a throw from Shortstop!
Luis Arrauz would be a great upgrade over Lux!

Why you keep talking about players . Talk about the freaking manager he freaking sucks.
The players are the ones who scored zero runs in yesterday's loss, so we thought we'd spend some time on them.
He was not ready to be in big leagues
Boring
Then go watch the people who scream and use stupid sound effects to falsely excite everyone. And shut the door on your way out...
